How to Update Your Information

THE IMPORTANCE OF UP-TO-DATE EMERGENCY CONTACT INFORMATION

Last month, one of our team members suffered a heart attack while at work. Unfortunately, their manager could not quickly notify the employee's emergency contacts due to outdated contact information in their personnel records.

To prevent such situations from arising in the future, take a moment to update your emergency contact details in Radius People UKG. This will help managers to reach out quickly to your emergency contacts if needed

Log in to Radius People UKG, navigate to your profile, and ensure your emergency contact details are current. If you recently changed your phone number or address, or if there's someone new who should be contacted in an emergency, now is the time to update this information.

From Your Mobile Phone:

1.

Log in to the UKG app with your username and password

2. Click on "Profile."

In the right-bottom corner of the app, click on the "Menu."

3

4

5

Scroll down to "Emergency Contacts" and click on it

A new window will open showing their name and phone numbers.

If updating is needed, click the "EDIT" button at the top of the screen

6. Update the fields shown, and click "SUBMIT" at the top of the screen to save your changes.

7. Note: you can have more than one person indicated as your "Emergency Contact."

From Your Desktop or Laptop Computer:

1

From the home page, click "Contacts" on the right side of the screen.

2. Click on the hyperlink of their name. Their complete contact information will open onscreen.

All of your beneficiaries, dependents, and emergency contacts will appear. Review your list of emergency contacts (indicated with a checkmark)

3.

4

If you need to edit information such as address, email, or phone number, click the "EDIT" button in the top right corner

5 Click the "SAVE" icon in the upper right corner of the screen to save your changes and exit the screen.

Once in the "EDIT" screen, you can change any information that needs updating. Please note you can also change who your emergency contact is by checking or unchecking the box beside "Emergency contact."

6. Note: you can have more than one person indicated as your "Emergency Contact."

Why It's Important

Rapid Response: Accurate contact information can significantly reduce response times in critical situations.

WWW.CANADACARTAGE.COM eBeaver: page 4 of 18

Peace of Mind: Knowing that you and your colleagues have up-to-date emergency contacts provides peace of mind to everyone in our workplace. Support and Care: It allows us to effectively extend support and care to our employees and their families during emergencies.

Ensuring we have all employees' most recent contact information is vital to our overall safety and emergency preparedness strategy. By working together to keep our records up-to-date, we can create a safer, more supportive work environment for everyone. Thank you for your attention to this crucial issue and for taking action to help us help you better

TAX ATTACKS

It's tax season, and everyone hopes to get some money back Cybercriminals are also hoping to get paid but with your money.

Cybercriminals use multiple methods to take advantage of the tax season. One tactic is to send an email with a PDF attachment that looks like an official government document The scammers include helpful instructions for pasting the webpage URL into your browser if the link doesn't work

When you click the link, you will be redirected to a fake webpage initiating a file download. Once the file is downloaded, malware is installed on your computer, leaving you vulnerable to a cyber-attack in which the cybercriminal could steal your money and personal data

Emails are not the only way that cybercriminals try to defraud you They also try to impersonate the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA). The latest CRA-related scam involves text messaging. You receive a text message claiming to be from the CRA, which requests payment or contains a link to provide your personal information, including name, date of birth, or social number. In this case, you should not reply to the text or click on any links in the text message. The CRA will never ask you by text or email for personal information, bank information, or payments by e-transfers or gift cards The CRA will not use text messages or instant messages to start a conversation with you about your taxes or benefits

To avoid falling victim to a tax scam, follow these steps: Make sure that your devices are running the latest software updates. If you receive a suspicious email at work, report it using the "Phish Alert" button (found in the top right of your Outlook toolbar)

Be suspicious of unsolicited emails from the government or other financial institutions If you doubt the form's authenticity, always check with the organization that sent it.

WELLNESS CORNER

TICK SEASON

In some parts of Canada, early spring weather and warmer than seasonal temperatures will cause quick ground thawing and the development of premature blooms. While people may enjoy the spring weather, there are certain dangers to be aware of, mainly when walking in tall grass or where there is leaf litter.

Ticks become active at 4 degrees Celsius when they start looking for animals and humans to feed on and will continue until the temperature falls below 4 degrees Celsius.

WHAT ARE TICKS? AND HOW BIG ARE THEY?

Ticks are part of the arachnid group of insects and are relatives of spiders, mites, and scorpions They survive by feeding on the blood of humans and animals. Ticks don't fly, jump, or drop from trees; they crawl to their unwitting victims. They are tiny and can be hard to see at less than one centimeter in length. They get considerably larger after feeding on the blood of an animal or human.

Ticks prefer to live in wooded areas, tall grasses, and leaf litter and can also be found in urban areas, like city parks and green spaces The blacklegged tick prefers moist environments like leaf litter, while the American dog or wood tick is hardier and can live in drier environments like tall grasses. Avoiding tick habitats helps reduce the risk of exposure.

Lyme disease is the leading tick-borne disease in Canada. As ticks expand their range in Canada, the risk of people and pets contracting tick-borne diseases is rising. See your veterinarian for preventative measures you can take with your pet After walking in known tick environments, thoroughly inspect your pet and yourself To learn more about checking your pets, how to remove ticks, and where they are most active in Canada, go to www ticktalkcanada com.
