CHERRYVILLE WAREHOUSE

Spotlight on Cherryville Warehouse 1201 E. Church Street Cherryville NC 28021

Welcome to our Cherryville, NC warehouse, located at 1201 E. Church Street, where Operations Manager Chris Shope and his team deliver exceptional service every day. This site is a critical part of BWT/IET’s 3PL operations, serving Mann & Hummel Filters, our sole customer at this location. The Cherryville facility spans two warehouses, totaling 179,000 sq. ft., dedicated to managing raw materials like oil filters, air filters, and cabin filters.

Every morning begins with a 15-minute pre-shift meeting to set expectations, assign pick orders, and review inbound schedules. The Cherryville team handles 4-5 daily pick orders, loading trailers for delivery to Mann & Hummel’s Gastonia facility. There, the products are finished and sent to their Cowpens, SC distribution hub for shipment to customers. Scheduled deliveries occur at noon, 2:00 PM, 4:00 PM, and 8:00 AM for the following day.

The warehouse also processes containers, dry van inbounds, LTL shipments, surplus, and rework products. These are unloaded, staged, scanned, and inventoried using handheld scanners. Daily cycle counts ensure inventory accuracy, with the team achieving an outstanding 99.8% match between Mann & Hummel’s SAP system and BWT’s FMS system— a proud accomplishment.

The Cherryville operation began by transferring inventory from two Mann & Hummel warehouses in Gastonia. With the help of quality inspectors, the team meticulously sorted and inventoried products, laying the foundation for today’s success.

The team includes Crystal Blevins in Building H (61,000 sq. ft.), Jeff Britton, Kenny Sherrin, and Darryl McLeymore in Building I (118,000 sq. ft.), and Warehouse Coordinator Justin Coleman, who oversees inbounds, solves part number issues, and communicates directly with Mann & Hummel schedulers. Justin has been with the company since 2021, advancing from a temp employee to his current role. His leadership and dedication have earned him recognition as a standout team member.

Safety is a top priority at Cherryville. From daily forklift maintenance checks and safety belt use to clean workspaces and proper use of horns around corners, the team works diligently to maintain a secure environment. Cross-training is also a key focus, offering employees opportunities to learn new skills and grow within the company.

The Cherryville team exemplifies pride in their work, delivering high-quality results with minimal errors. They’ve built strong relationships, supporting and watching out for one another to ensure a collaborative and productive atmosphere.

We’re proud to spotlight the Cherryville warehouse for their exceptional teamwork and commitment to excellence. Thank you for all that you do to make BWT/IET a leader in 3PL logistics!

to Fredrick Pounds

We’re excited to announce our Employee of the Month, Fredrick Pounds, someone who truly goes above and beyond every single day. This month’s recognition goes to one of our hardworking yard spotters in South Carolina, whose dedication, flexibility, and commitment to safety have made a lasting impact on our team and customers.

Known for always being on time and ready to step in when needed, he’s built a strong reputation with our customer, GP, who frequently commend his outstanding work ethic. Whether it’s adapting to last-minute changes, covering for a teammate, or ensuring tasks are completed on time, he consistently rises to the occasion with a can-do attitude.

Safety is where he really shines. When faced with a fire under a trailer, he didn’t hesitate—making sure everyone was safe and quickly putting out the flames. His actions not only prevented damage but also protected a nearby neighborhood, showing just how much he cares about others.

He’s the kind of person who sees what needs to be done and steps up, often before anyone even has to ask. His willingness to help, combined with his professionalism and teamwork, has earned him the respect and appreciation of both his coworkers and our customers.

Congratulations, and thank you for everything you do to keep our team moving forward. This recognition is so well-deserved!
