On Saturday, November 17. Steve Freeman of Newport Beach won the annual golf tournament of the Lumber Association of Southern California. The tournament was the last event on the agenda of the Association's recent four-day conference at Palm Springs, and was played over the beautifully conditioned Bermuda Dunes Country Club.

Steve shot a 74 over the par 72 course. Carrying an eyebrou-raising eight handicap he netted 66, thus walking ofi with both low gross and low net.

tournament. It was the first time Steve has played the event, and it was his first time over the Bermuda Dunes course.

Said Steve upon receiving the handsome trophy, "Apparently I do better not know. ing a course and unaware of its pitfalls. Hereafter I'll simply seek out different courses. playing each one oncel"

Georgio-Pocific to Remoin

In Plywood Trode Group ship next year "on the previous basis." This was made possible by a resolution passed unanimously by the DFPA board of trustees, it was indicated.

Georgia-Pacific Corp. has withdrawn its resignation from the Douglas Fir Plywood Assn., the company and trade group have announced jointly..

The company will maintain its member.

Georgia-Pacific, largest plywood maker in the nation, also is a major producer of paper, containers, chemicals. lumber ancl other forest products for U. S, and world markets.

In the official notice to J. R. Turnbull, executive vice president of DFPA, it was pointed out by W'. H. Hunt, G-P vice president, that the company "thinks highly of the work which has been done, and will be done (by DFPA) and we will consider it an honor to continue our membership on the previous basis through 1963."
