New Center Sowing Resqw

Filer & Stowell has introduced a new, heavy duty 57 inch center sawing sawmill resaw. The entire frame is a one-piece weldment, stress relieved and machined to provide maximum strength and rigidity with maximum weight. Box-type construction is used throughout.

The unique straining mechanism insures sensitivity and is easily read from a scale located at the top of the machine. The strain is adjustable to ten thousand pounds. The 57 inch diameter cast iron, precision balanced wheels are 9 inches wide for a 10 inch wide saw blade. The clearance from the top of the lumber support to the upper guide is 22Vz inches.

Poste Filler for Wood Defects

A free-flowing off-white powder which forms a paste filler when added to water has been announced by National Casein Co., manufacturer of wood glues. The resulting paste compound is designed for use as a core fiIler for solid wood cores used in plywood.

The core filler is very fast-setting and rapidly cures to a hard, insoluble material which can be sanded and finished within several hours. The mixed paste retains its body after drying and gives no shrinkage problems. Literature and samples available on request.
