i'How You Can Make More Money . As The Wholesaler Sees It" is the theme of a series of meetings co.sponsored by LMA and the National-American Wholesale Lumber-Association. Planned as dinner meetings, they will be held in seven western cities for dealers in northern California and Nevada.
'oWe plan to take a frank look at the retail lumber dealer today," comments Donald S. Andrews, western manager of NAWLA. "And our discussion will include product knowledge, effective use of time, and greater return on invested capital. Dealers will be shown sl'_rles showing the successful practices followed by regional wholesalers of forest products." Dealers planning to aitend should contact NAWLA or LMA.

Mqrketing Conference Wropup
The proceedings .o{ the Second Annual Forest Industries Marketing Conference, 'olnnovation in a Traditional Industry" have just been published and cost $4 per copy. Checks should be made payable to the University of Oregon. Write Dr. Stuart U. Rich of the Management Center.
At this conference, held on June 16 and 17 on the campus, speakers from many parts of the country examined innovations of current significance taking place in the forest industries in lumber, plywood, pulp and paper, at all industry levels.
Among the topics considered were the effect of the changing nature of the tim'ber supply on product planning, new architectural design concepts, recent advances in silvichemicals, paper and paperboard demand forecasts, how computers can be used to improve distribution efficiency in both large and small forest products companies, various approaches to the use of components in home construction, and how to stimulate and manage the innovation process in a company.
Dispufe Settled Out-of-Court
An out-of-court settlement in all pending litigation between Omark Industries, Inc., and the McCulloch Corporation has been revealed.
John D. Gray, Omark president, and Robert P. McCulloch, McCulloch president, said that part of the settlement provided for a long-term arrangement under which it is expected that McCulloch will make substantial purchases of saw chain from Omark. Also, Omark has granted McCulloch a license under certain of its patents whereby McCulloch can continue to manufacture its present line of chain.
