Hoo-Hoo's Annual Convention is a Smash Success
TfHERE'S S0illETHl\C about a Hoor Hoo convention that warms thc cockles of everyone's heart. We think maybe it's because nobody is selling anybody anything (Well, hardly anything). And when one combine-. this atmosphere of friendly fraternalism with the Salt River Valley Club ft72, the result is pretty hard to beat.
'Wc arrived under cover of darkness on Friday evening, and instead of kicking the gon€{ on arrival as usual, went quietly to bed in preparation {or the important meeting on Saturday.
Beginning with a rump group in exr', utive v.p. Bob Holder's room at ten a.m. through to about six p.m., a few dedicated pre-conventiont'ers mt:t with representatives of tht' National Wood Council and the HooHoo Advisory Committee. The Fore.st Products Promotion Cortncil (rcported on last month ) was born by absorbing the Hoo-Hoo Advisory Committee into the r.ren' organization, while at thc same time letting the National Wood Council die a natural death.
Sunday dawned bright and clear but it didn't stay that way for long. The Supremr: Nine met early in the day and r:oncluded their bu-qiness by mid-a{ternoon. emcrging from air-r'onditioned comfort to a blustery storm that brought some really heavy rain well into the er-ening. Jimmv Jones and

The better half joined us in the middle o{ the storm with the remark "that it nevt'r {ails to rain when nc go to pfiespiv"-and how right she is. Although the rain {orced c,ant:t,llation oI the diving exhibition it didn't dumpen arrl' spirits. as could readily he observed at Supreme Thoth Ben Springer's cocktail party and luau, attendcd by well over I'150 Hoo-Hoos and their ladies.
