Welcome to another exciting year at BBIS! I am delighted to introduce to you the culmination of our school year— the eagerly anticipated yearbook created with love and dedication by our talented students.
This year’s yearbook is a true reflection of our vibrant school life, illustrating the wide range of experiences, achievements, and memories that we have shared together. It’s a testament to the thriving community we have built here at BBIS.
I am pleased to record that our school has successfully renewed its COBIS accreditation, a testament to our commitment to providing quality education and maintaining high standards. Additionally, our Early Years students have a new playground to explore and enjoy, fostering their growth and development in a safe and engaging environment.
The Primary School has undergone a brilliant refurbishment, providing our young learners with a refreshed and inspiring space to cultivate their curiosity and love for learning. With the highest numbers ever recorded, we continue to be thrilled that so many families have chosen to attend BBIS.
One of the most heartening aspects of our school community is the positivity and dedication of everyone who contributes to the community. The enthusiasm of the students, the warmth of the parent body and the skill, support and dynamic approach of the professional staff enrich the learning experiences of our students each day. Throughout the pages of this yearbook, you will find a whole bunch of dynamic activities and adventures, from exhilarating ski trips to memorable residential experiences. Our sporting
teams have excelled this year, with numerous successes for BBIS —a testament to the hard work and determination of our athletes.
I encourage everyone to take a moment to flip through the pages of this yearbook and relish in the memories we’ve created together. Whether you’re a student, parent, teacher, or staff member, there’s something for everyone to enjoy and cherish within these pages. Thank you to all who contributed to the creation of this yearbook, capturing the essence of our vibrant school community.
David Poritt School PrincipalAswe gather our memories and experiences to compile this year’s yearbook, I am filled with immense pride and gratitude reflecting on a transformative year at our Primary School as we embraced the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP). Our journey was guided by the core elements of the PYP framework: inquiry, action, and reflection. as we navigated new ways of working together, adapting our teaching methods and learning strategies to meet the evolving needs of our students.
The shift towards more inquisitive learning environments has notably enhanced the oracy and vocabulary of our learners. Our children have truly become questioning minds, eager to discuss, debate, and delve into complex topics. Engaging learning provocations have spurred our students to think critically about the world around them. The enriching learning experiences that our children have enjoyed this year are vividly showcased in the pages that follow. I extend my heartfelt thanks to every member of our Primary Team
for your dedication and adaptability in making these moments possible.
This year’s highlights are many but events such as the International Mindedness Week and the vibrant Farsang discos, were made possible thanks to the unwavering support and participation of our parents. Your involvement has been crucial in enriching our school culture.
We also celebrated significant milestones this year, including a successful COBIS accreditation and a productive visit from
our PYP consultant. These achievements mark not only the culmination of our efforts but also set the stage for our next goal: achieving full IB authorization next year.
Let’s continue to support each other, celebrate our successes, and build a community that reflects the best of what we can achieve together. Here’s to another outstanding year!
Dear Cherries and Acorns,
What an incredible year this has been! The months have really flown by. This year, we learned so much together. You have worked hard, played hard, and grown by leaps and bounds. It has been so delightful to watch you become good friends.
You have learned to appreciate and celebrate each others’ differences. Your kindness to one another is one of the things I love most about you. We embarked on numerous exciting adventures together, each one leaving a unique imprint on our memories. Our playtime was not just fun but also a valuable opportunity for self-discovery. I still remember the beautiful melodies you sang during our winter concert, each one representing a different celebration. Which one was your favourite song? We had a special visitor in our class, a veterinarian when we thought about ‘Community Helpers’. Do you remember the butterflies that came to our classroom when we learned about ‘Change’?
Now, it is time for you to spread your wings and fly. You are ready to move up to the next yeargroup, but first, have a wonderful summer! Have lots of fun and make precious new memories.
All the best,
Miss Annamaria Tapodi, Miss Trefan & Miss Al-WattarDear Year 1
It has been an incredible year and I want to say thank you to each and every one of you for making this year so much fun. We have shared so many wonderful and incredible moments together that I will cherish. Meeting you all has given me so much joy, and I have thoroughly enjoyed coming into class each morning and seeing your happy faces and listening to your stories. My favourite thing of all has to be the big cuddles I get throughout the day. You have made me laugh so much and also taught me to look at life as an adventure and not to take things too seriously. I know you all will hold a special place in my heart.
From the start of the year we have become like our very own family. I along with Ms Buzek have watched you grow and work very hard to learn new skills and further your progress academically. Great friendships have been made and I have been so very proud of the way you have treated each other and cared for one another throughout the year.
Although I will miss you all dearly, I will still be keeping a keen eye on you all!!! Whilst I will be sad to let you go, I will take pleasure in seeing the continuation of your BBIS journey.
Have a fantastic summer, lots of love
Mrs Obie
Dear Year 1 Pine Class,
I cannot believe how incredibly busy this year was for all of us. I am so proud of everything that you have accomplished during this academic year and I am grateful for learning so much from you. I have learnt to be a Caring Cat by talking about our emotions and working on making everyone happy in our school during our first Unit of Inquiry. I have enhanced my research skills while using my reading to find out more about habitats and animal groups while learning about animal adaptations. I have become a Risk-Taker Rat by listening to your fascinating Talking Tuesday presentations and watching you all bravely blow bubbles in the big pool during Swimming.
While writing this letter, I kept browsing our photos on Toddle and all your home learning tasks on Padlet. We had so many adventures together, but my favourites were when you performed the Doubles song using funny props and when Zoltan visited us with his guide dog. As you head off to Year 2, just remember to keep being curious, keep asking questions, and never stop believing in yourselves. You might have a lot to learn, but you’re already pretty amazing, just the way you are. Saying goodbye to you is hard. After spending a whole year working together, it is impossible to imagine our classroom without all of you.
These past months, we have learnt, played and grown together. A little bit of each of you will always be with me, and I
Dear Year 2 Olive,
I can’t believe how quickly this year has passed! I am so proud of how far you have come, and I feel very lucky to have been part of your journey. With so many new faces this year, it has been a joy to get to know you all and make some great memories together.
It’s hard to choose my favourite memory from this year. Some of my best memories have been our school trip to Normafa right at the beginning of the year, reading the book with no pictures, creating a name for Strawberry the turtle and making Loy Krathong decorations for the show. Each memory is full of fun and laughter, I hope you remember Year 2 with some great memories too.
It has been a pleasure to see how much you have accomplished and achieved this year and you should be very proud of yourselves for all the hard work you have put in. You have supported each other along the way and made some great friendships.
As you move into Year 3, I hope you continue to smile, laugh, and have fun! I wish you all good luck in your next adventure, I will miss you lots.
Ms WinbowDear Year 2 Chestnut,
Looking back on the fantastic year we have spent together, I feel truly lucky to have been your class teacher. You have come a long way since September in your learning and in your maturity. You have developed strong relationships with both your peers and your teachers. I knew from the start that you are a great bunch, but having spent time with you showed me how unique each and every one of you is and how well you compliment each other when working together.
I first discovered that I have a class that shares my passion for music when we sang the ‘Hope Song’. You were singing and humming that song spontaneously throughout the day and it was then when I knew we found a connection through music. Another love we share is stories. We had a lot of fun reading books and telling stories in our class. One of my favourites was ‘The girl and the dinosaur’ because I loved how you all fell in love with the story. The most memorable field trip was visiting the Observatory at Csilleberc, where we discovered the beauty and the immensity of the universe. It was a proud
moment for me when our guide shared how impressed he was by your behaviour and the questions you asked.
Above all, I am inspired by your efforts to take on the values of the Learner Profile. You have worked hard to become inquirers, risk-takers, to be principled and above all, caring; just to mention a few of the core values. Your ability to understand different perspectives is remarkable for your age and remember, “It is all about how you choose to look at it!”, so keep looking at the bright side as you are moving on to your new year group!
Thank you for your hugs, drawings, messages, jokes and smiles. I will miss you.
Dear Year 3 Willow,
The year is almost over and what a fantastic year we have had! We have grown, laughed, cared and learnt more than we could imagine in what feels like such a compact space of time!
For me, it’s hard to choose just one favourite moment from this year but some worthy mentions include our trips to the Basilica and Synagogue and the River Cruise, inviting your families in to showcase your amazing learning and your performances in the Winter Show!
Alongside all of the experiences we have had, it’s been a joy to be a part of, and witness, your growth as individuals and a community. Your unique personalities and dedication to see one another succeed has been heartwarming to see. 3 Willow definitely would not have been the same without each and every one of you.
The popular saying, “Time flies when you are having fun!” I feel, really does summarise this year. I hope you take away many memories from your time in Year 3 which you will look back on with fondness for years to come.
I wish you all the best of luck in Year 4. I have no doubt you will continue to be the amazing, passionate and creative students you were this year.
Keep shining bright!
Mrs BellWhat a great year it has been. I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know each and every one of you. My favourite time has always been in the mornings when you all arrive at school with smiles and enthusiasm, ready for the day, and I have enjoyed listening to all of your stories and all the things you love to tell me about.
You have worked so hard, and I am very proud of all you have achieved this year. One standout moment for me was your very first UOI presentations, where you showcased your research on rivers. The models you constructed were fantastic, and the skills you learned really shone through, as well as working collaboratively.
I have so many wonderful memories to look back on, such as the boat trip along the Danube, your amazing performances in the winter show, creative Farsang and World Book Day costumes and the impressive designs for the egg drops, which for me was the highest point I have ever seen them fall from!
Every day, I have also learned so much from you; for that, I would like to thank you.
I hope you all have a wonderful summer break, and I wish you all the best in Year 4!
Keep up the good work!
Mrs Wootton
To Acacia,
They say time flies when you are having fun and I simply cannot believe how quick our year together has gone. We have had such a fun filled time with many laughs along the way. I have enjoyed seeing you showcase the Learner Profile attributes daily-from being risk takers in the canteen by trying new foods to being a reflective rhino after a lesson.
I have enjoyed learning about your traditions, cultures and seeing things through your perspectives. You have challenged me to explore new ways to teach such as manipulating sugar to make candy floss (yum!) and even teaching a lesson in Gaeilge! Everything we have done, whether it be a Maths carousel or learning to read through braille, you have given it 100% and I couldn’t have asked for a better group of students!
It is hard to pick a favourite memory but watching you in your teams using your material knowledge to save your ‘baby’ egg and debating it out to see who’s side of the story we believethe poor defenceless Little Pigs or the sneaky, Bad Wolf, have been some of the best. And who can forget us cheers-ing on the Cruise on the River Danube!
I wish you all the luck in Year 4 but never forget…. Your capital letters, full stops and beautiful writing!! Thanks for being youkeep dreaming big!

Dear Lapacho,
I’m writing this looking back through the old photos from across our time together, and one thing in particular stands out: despite the challenges faced over the past three terms, we really are a happy class. I see faces beaming with fun, pride, and joy since you have truly accomplished something remarkable. Throughout this academic year, you’ve faced challenges head-on, navigated the sometimes choppy waters of friendship, and emerged as a shining example of teamwork and resilience.
Each of you has contributed something special to our classroom community, whether it’s a kind word, a helping hand, or a listening ear. You’ve shown empathy and understanding beyond your years, and your willingness to support one another has made all the difference. We gained many new students since you were in Year 3 and they have all fit in wonderfully, so “bravissimo”.
Friendship isn’t always easy, but it’s in those moments of difficulty that we learn and grow the most. By working together, you’ve not only strengthened your bonds but also achieved academic success – a double win! Your dedication to each other and to your studies is truly inspiring.
As you move forward, remember the lessons you’ve learned this year. Cherish the friendships you’ve formed, continue to lift each other up, and never underestimate the power of teamwork. With your positive attitude and determination, there’s no challenge you can’t conquer.
Just try not to smile too much... in case anyone thinks you’re a werewolf!
Have a terrific summer and good luck on your next adventure, Mr. Darling
Dear Year 4 Kapok,
What a memorable year we have had together! I’ve loved watching you learn, develop your curiosity and build strong friendships. We had some friends move on to new adventures and some friends beginning their time at BBIS; through both of these changes, what shone through most was your kindness. When I asked what your favourite lessons had been, so many of you listed all of the areas of learning which just shows how dedicated you are! Every UOI has been filled with creative ideas and you really demonstrated your resilience when faced with each challenge.
We will always remember making the special poster for Mr Spinks, getting our hands messy when representing the digestive system, and making t-shirts during International Mindedness Week. Some highlights from our UOI inquiries were creating stop motion animations, using the VR headsets and performing for our families. Our favourite trip memories were visiting the House of Music and the Natural History museum, and these were only made better by the delicious lunches we made for ourselves. Kapok have been a huge part of the Fruit Ninjas by helping to prepare some fruit for the whole school each week!
Continue to be kind, curious and fun when you go on to Year 5 and your next adventures!
Ms BellardDear Palm,
As the school year draws to a close, I find myself reflecting on all the incredible moments we’ve shared together. It’s been an adventure filled with learning, growth, and laughter, and I couldn’t be prouder of each and every one of you.
Our journey this year has been nothing short of extraordinary. From our trip to Csodák Palotája Science Museum, the egg drop challenge and fruit ninjas to building your own chairs, buddy class activities and building a virtual classroom, we took part in a wide range of activities that helped improve our learning and brought us closer as a community.
Our classroom was a stage for many talents as we delved into the world of debating, honed our public speaking skills with TED Talks, and dazzled audiences with our drama performances to cap off UOI on children’s rights. Each moment was an opportunity for us to shine and showcase our unique abilities.
Our exhibition on creativity and inspiration was a true highlight, where you shared key events and experiences in your lives and explored this through the power of your imagination, sharing with
parents and peers. Your Talking Tuesdays presentations demonstrated that you are all knowledgeable and excellent communicators, sharing your passions, traditions, and family backgrounds, among other things.
As we close the book on this year of growth and exploration, let’s carry forward the lessons learned, the friendships forged, and the memories cherished. As you step into Year 6, remember your limitless potential. Dream big, explore fearlessly, and seize every opportunity. Thank you for a remarkable year. Wishing you a summer of adventure and laughter.
Yours faithfully, Mr. Wolverson
Dear Year 5 Baobab,
As I sit down to write this letter, I can’t help but feel a profound sense of gratitude and pride. Since January, when I first stepped into your classroom as your teacher, I’ve been continuously amazed by your resilience, adaptability, and unwavering enthusiasm for learning.
Taking over from Ms. Simmons was no small feat, but you welcomed me with open arms and made the transition seamless. Your willingness to embrace change and commitment to making the best of every situation has taught me valuable lessons I will carry with me forever.
Throughout these past few months, I’ve witnessed your growth, not just academically but also personally. Each of you has left an indelible mark on my heart, and I am immensely proud of the individuals you have become.
As you prepare to embark on the next chapter of your academic journey as a Year 6 student, I wish you all the luck in the world. Remember that the challenges you face will only make you stronger, and I am confident you will continue shining brightly wherever life takes you.
Thank you for being such an incredible class. I will miss you all dearly.
Mrs. McNeillieDear lovely Banyans,
As we reach the end of an incredible year together, I want to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude to each and every one of you for being the most wonderful students. Your dedication to learning and growth has been truly inspiring. Many times, I have told you that I was so incredibly lucky to have been gifted such a lovely class and I really do mean it.
I have cherished every moment we spent together, from our engaging discussions in the classroom to the exciting trips we took to the museums. The deep thinking which emerged through meandering into thoughtful questioning and ideas reflects the inventive and creative minds in Banyan. Memories abound: from huddling around our sandwiches at Aquicum, mummifying apples, making ‘clay/flour’ tablets to be cuneiform scribes, role-playing the fight scene in Runaway Robot, to searching for mamma and papa snip-snip has been such fun!
In many ways, I became an unwitting student of football this year!!! Never in my life have so many of my lessons been connected to sports which have been an education to me! Our daily ‘sitting on the carpet’ may have raised some objections but the level of collaboration and thinking which took place was exceptional- truly to see the process of your UOI work unfold was testament to your hard work. Watching you explore and discover new things has been a highlight of my year.
I am so proud of all that you have achieved this year and the progress you have made both academically and personally. Wishing you all a restful and enjoyable break. I cannot wait to hear what amazing things you will accomplish next year.
With heartfelt thanks, Ms
MckeoghDear Oak
As I write this, I can hardly believe how fast this year has passed. It feels like just yesterday when you all walked in as Year Sixes in August, full of nerves and excitement for what was ahead. It’s amazing to look back and see how much progress you’ve made. Many of you came in with very little English, but now you speak confidently and easily lead tasks. It’s been inspiring to watch your growth throughout the year and share the laughs, memories, and learning.
We’ve shared some excellent memories, including our frequent trips to museums, MOM Sport, your excellent dance moves in UOI lessons, Talking Tuesday projects, Simon Says games and so much more. By the time you read this, we will have embarked on a truly
memorable trip to Vienna, which I’m sure you will remember forever.
As we prepare to say goodbye to this year and move on to new adventures, remember all the hard work you’ve put in and the friendships you’ve made. Carry that with you as you continue on your journey.
It has been incredibly rewarding to work with you all this year and I am more than confident you will all go on to do many wonderful things with your lives. Don’t be a stranger, keep me posted with your future adventures and I look forward to seeing you succeed. I’ll be cheering you on every step of the way!
Yours faithfully,
Mr Joshua CouplandCan you believe we’re at the finish line of the school year? Time does fly when you’re having fun, and it’s been fun seeing each and every one of you grow and learn. I am reminded of how you jump right into the weekly workouts, and your cheers when it’s time to play Stinky Feet. Let’s not forget our ratio cupcakes; a little messy, a lot delicious, and definitely memorable. Who knew maths could be so fun? We examined famous art at the art gallery, and made so much of our own in “Art with Ms. Kerr” lessons (secretly my favourite lessons). We explored the Roman Ruins at Aquincum, mummified apples, pretended to be Runaway Robots (“I cannot answer that question”), showed off our Elvis hips, and you listened to me digress every chance I got. We really have made many memories together.
As we bid farewell to this chapter and look ahead to the next, I want you to know that you’re more than ready for the journey ahead. I have no doubt that you’ll continue to learn, and grow. Remember to face new challenges with the same spirit and determination that you’ve shown here, and you’ll go far.
Thanks for making this year one to remember. You all are what’s made coming to class each day a joy. Keep making good choices.
Ms KerrThe real highlight for me has been watching you all grow as students. You’ve become such confident learners who think deeply about what we are learning, take chances, share your ideas, and work together. Everyone has supported each other. Cheering and celebrating victories with respectful applause, not rhythmic clapping.
Computing in BBIS has been integrated into the Unit of Inquiry and supports various different subjects. Students are learning about protecting personal information, netiquette, cyberbullying and selective searching shoulder to shoulder with the Library, to prepare them for an independent and responsible online life. We discover computational thinking in different ways, giving simple instructions to floor robots and using a variety of coding platforms from Scratch Jr to imagi, reinforcing the understanding of algorithms and the importance of debugging. Students are introduced to various applications using iPads and Chromebooks for creating presentations, learning how to take photos and videos and evaluate their quality, creating and editing audio and video, and learning ways of 3D design. Students in year 3 have one class set of shared Chromebooks, years 1, 2 and 4 have their own devices and in years 5 and 6 we successfully introduced the Bring Your Own Device system. Through integration, students learn with BeeBots, Micro:bits and imagi Charms during their Primary studies. Computing-based clubs also took place this year such as the Scratch Club, Photography and Videography Basics Club and the 3D Design Club. During the open Computing room break times, students can practise typing, 3D design, coding or catch up with their digital tasks.
As a tradition, BBIS joined the Week of Code in December, joining the global event organised by hourofcode.org. We
had Safer Internet Day where all primary classes spent time discovering various aspects of the challenges of online life. As part of our ROOTS programme, students in years 3 and 4 were creating games with BeeBots and learned the basics of Micro:bits, in years 5 and 6 they were introduced to Python coding language through imagi Charms which is an award-winning startup based in Sweden, offering a fresh take on EdTech, gaming, and social impact.

The language and culture of the host country is really important for an international school.
BBIS offers Hungarian Language and Culture Lessons for all Non-Hungarian students. In these lessons the classes learn basic Hungarian expressions, vocabulary and the host country’s cultural heritage through folk songs, stories and games. Through various games and activities, all focusing on communication, students can become a little more familiar with this beautiful language and exciting culture.
For native Hungarian speaker students BBIS offers Hungarian language lessons. In these, classes learn Hungarian Literature, Grammar, and - in Year 6 - Hungarian History, using textbooks and additional resources following the National Hungarian Curriculum in line with the local characteristics and needs. Our main goals are to develop communication skills, and reading, while developing different comprehension strategies. We believe that learning one’s mother tongue, the exact use of the language including syntax and a rich vocabulary, allows our students to orient themselves and thrive in their current and future lives as they explore their own culture, history and traditions to create a proper overview and meaningful understanding of their country.
For all classes - native and non-native Hungarian learners - we put emphasis on celebrating the national holidays and traditions throughout the year. Taking advantage of the local opportunities, we organise field trips and visits related to the curriculum.
This year, we were thrilled to expand the programme and have everyone from Year 1 to Year 6 taking part in Roots! We were excited to progress our skills in some of the returning Roots areas such as Cook-it. Some delicious meals were cooked up as students developed their cooking skills and began choosing seasonal ingredients for their recipes which allowed us to make the most of our purpose built cooking space. Dragon’s Den saw a range of projects completed, all exploring the design cycle and our uses of woodwork across the curriculum. We also enjoyed discovering some new areas on the second year rotation. Everyone took part in How to… and developed life skills such as knot tying, clothes washing or pitching a tent. Our youngest students developed their mindfulness skills. Robotics looked at programming with the beebots but also extended to discover the possibilities of Lego robotics in Year 5 and 6 Roots. First Aid was an exciting addition where we learned some essential basics and grew our curiosity around careers linked to First Aid too!
Each week, you have all excitedly joined your Roots groups and explored the different areas, building strong relationships with different students and teachers whilst learning and having fun. The skills we have developed in Roots will always be useful across all areas of our learning and in our lives! We look forward to seeing them in action!
Aswe conclude another school year in BBIS Secondary, I want to take a moment to reflect on the journey we’ve shared together.
This year has been particularly special as we celebrated the achievements of our first graduating DP2 students. From the moment they stepped through our doors as eager IB learners to the day they walked across the stage, they have exemplified the spirit of inquiry, resilience, and compassion that defines our school community. Their accomplishments have set a high standard for those who will follow in their footsteps, and they will always hold a special place in our hearts.
Looking back on the past year, we have witnessed countless moments of growth, discovery, and triumph. Our students have tackled challenging coursework, pursued their passions in extracurricular activities, and demonstrated remarkable leadership both in and out of the classroom. Whether it was beating BISB, Britancica or AISB, staging a successful
show of Arsenic and Old Lace, Our first MUN, DoFE or launching a service project that made a difference in our community, each accomplishment has contributed to the rich tapestry of experiences that define our school.
As we bid farewell to another group of graduates and prepare to welcome new faces into our community, let us carry forward the lessons learned and the memories shared. Let us remember the friendships formed, the challenges overcome, and the moments of joy that have made this year one to remember. And let us take pride in all that we have achieved together as a school.
As we look ahead to the future, let us continue to uphold the values of excellence, integrity, and respect that define us as an IB school. Let us support one another, push ourselves to new heights, and strive for the highest academic and personal achievement standards.
Thank you for another incredible year filled with laughter, learning, and unforgettable moments. I am so proud of each and every one of you, and I cannot wait to see what the future holds for our BBIS community. If you are leaving the BBIS community, I wish you all the best, luck, and happiness on your next adventure.
With gratitude and warm wishes,

With warmest regards, Mrs. Olga Gonzalez
Dear MYP1 VO,
As the school year comes to a close, I am filled with immense pride as I reflect on the growth and achievements of each and every one of you. It has been a pleasure to be your homeroom teacher and witness the incredible journey you have all been on.
Throughout this year, I have seen you demonstrate resilience, kindness, and determination in all that you do. From navigating new subjects to forming new friendships, you have embraced every challenge with enthusiasm and a willingness to learn.
I want to commend each of you for your hard work and dedication to your studies. Your curiosity and eagerness to explore new ideas have been truly inspiring. Remember that learning is a lifelong journey, and I have no doubt that you will continue to excel in all your future endeavours.
As you move on to the next grade, carry the memories and lessons learned during your time in MYP1. Embrace new opportunities, challenge yourself, and always remember the support system you have here at school.
I am grateful to have been a part of your academic and personal growth this year. Thank you, Ilia, Jihoo, Balazs, Gracia, Lorinc, Niko, Geon, Suzie and Thomas,
for your enthusiasm, your laughter, and your willingness to always give your best. I am excited to see all the amazing things you will accomplish in the years to come.
Wishing you all the best in your future adventures,
Ms Victoria OsovskaiaDear students,
What a year. Undoubtedly, MYP 2 is one of those years when a teacher can see this transit from childhood to adolescence in his students. In your life this is a period full of changes and challenges. For example, this year some of you created new friendships, some of you got in trouble and learned important lessons, others excelled in sports or discovered new interests. In any case, this school is an ideal environment for you to keep growing healthy and happy. I hope you are aware how lucky you are and keep making the best out of these years at BBIS.
During tutor time, there were some really nice moments: Interesting presentations for talking Tuesday (followed by funny animal videos afterwards!), great teamwork to decorate the Christmas door, and also the process of preparing student lead assembly, just to mention a few. In all those instances you could show part of your IB learner profile. That makes me feel proud of you.
As I said, difficult situations will happen but are precisely those challenges the biggest learning opportunities. However, no matter how tricky the situation may seem, you can always rely on your friends, parents, subject teachers and tutor teacher.
I wish you great success.
Mr GonzalezDear MYP2AC,
It feels like just yesterday when we met for the first time. I would like to tell you what a pleasure it has been to be your tutor. To see the 12 of you the first thing in the morning, with your varying moods and personalities, sometimes tired or sleepy but always with a smile.
Our homeroom has had many highs. There was the high of winning the Friday quiz and Scattergories, getting the award for the lowest strikes and of course, delivering a wonderful assembly on using time productively. Of course, the varied and interesting Talking Tuesday presentations were always something I looked forward to.
It was great to see you support each other, celebrate each other’s successes, take leadership, and contribute your part to any team effort. This was especially clear when you prepared and practised for the assembly and also when you decorated the door on the last day before Christmas break.
As we move onto the next year, I hope you continue to do your best, work smart and be happy.
Warmly,
Ms. ChaturvediDear MYP3ETC,
As the academic year draws to a close, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on our time together. From the first day of homeroom to now, it’s been quite a journey, hasn’t it?
I want to start by saying that you are a truly unique group. Each and every one of you brings something special to our classroom community. Whether it’s your creativity, your sense of humour, or your willingness to engage in lively discussions, there’s never a dull moment with this group.
Now, I’ll be honest – there were times when your behaviour drove me a little crazy. But isn’t that part of what makes our dynamic so interesting? We’re all different, with our own quirks and personalities, and sometimes that clash can lead to some memorable moments. But despite the occasional challenges, I want you to know that I genuinely enjoyed our time together. Your energy and enthusiasm for learning are truly infectious, and it’s been a pleasure to watch you grow and develop over the course of the year.
So as we prepare to say goodbye to another school year, I want to thank each and every one of you for being a part of this journey. Keep being your unique selves, keep pushing boundaries, and never stop striving for excellence.
Wishing you all the best in your future endeavours, Ms
ÉduaDear MYP3SA,
A whole year together gone by already, slowly or quickly? It depends on you, but I know what some of you might say. Spending the morning with you all has not been a bad way to start each day. Our time together has been more relaxed, calm and welcoming.
I have had the pleasure of getting to know you and spending time with you outside of taught subject time, and I learned quirky personalities I am sure I would not have gotten to see if I was not your tutor. Zalan the tech wiz and introducing gadgets I have never seen before, or for the fact you can dissemble a whole computer and put it back together!? What?? Marci and Tomi being enthusiastic and overall sweet in the mornings. Cat, always punctual and I can always count on coming into the tutor classroom knowing that you are there working or waiting patiently for the day to start. Xiyan and Jennifer you have found a nice friendship between each other which is nice to see. Adu and Boti bring the energy into the room, besties for life it feels. The gaaals, Lena, Laya and Maria Mariaaa (imagine me singing that), you always seem so excited to see each other in the mornings, which is heartwarming. I love watching your friendship, Maria and her nails, Lena trying to leave but not leave the classroom and Laya just sitting sweetly haha.
I hope you are all well prepared and ready for what is to come moving into MYP4 next year. Although I will not be your tutor, I hope you grace your new tutor with the same politeness you have shown me and that he/she continues to buy you snacks for your birthdays :) I will see you either in Design or around the school, if I don’t, I wish you all the best in your subjects and future studies. Zalan, good luck at your new school.
Thank you guys!
In the context of MYP literature, a rich tapestry of genres and themes unfolded, intertwining threads of Magical Realism, Gothic Literature, Poetry, and Media exploration. Concepts like creativity and identity were skillfully examined from various points of view, captivating students to elicit deep analysis and responses in creative writing.
Magical realism danced through the pages of our readings, where the ordinary collided with the extraordinary, blurring the lines between reality and imagination. Gothic Literature enveloped us in its chilling embrace, with its ominous settings and enigmatic characters drawing us into realms of mystery and suspense.
Poetry resonated with the cadence of human emotions, delving deep into the complexities of the human experience and shedding light on the depths of the soul. Meanwhile, Media analysis offered a contemporary lens through which to dissect the influence of text and visual elements, empowering students to navigate the intricate web of digital communication.
As we journeyed through these literary landscapes, we honed our critical thinking skills and expanded our understanding of the power of language to shape perceptions and realities. Each genre served as a gateway to deeper exploration, inviting us to engage with timeless themes and contemporary issues alike.
Hungarian students attending our school have the opportunity to participate in Hungarian language and literature and Hungarian history classes. In these classes, our goal is not only to introduce a condensed version of the curriculum taught in the Hungarian basic education system, but also to nurture and maintain the mother tongue culture. To this end, we organize cultural and educational programs outside of the regular lessons. This year, we participated in the Pál Street Boys literary walk, attended the theatre several times, visited the National Cemetery to see the graves of well-known Hungarian poets, writers, politicians, and historical figures, and of course, commemorated the most important Hungarian holidays and historical events.
This year in Art, all students researched other artist’s to learn and be influenced by the style and technique. Gaining an understanding of colour theory, shading and perspective with a variety of art media teaching all students the foundation skills. MYP1 created Zentangles that were relaxing and fun. The MYP1 & 2 created still life drawings, some created paintings, of meaningful objects and understanding about composition. The MYP 2 updated a famous artwork of their choice and added a more contemporary twist to it. The MYP3 created Optical illusions inspired by Hungarian artist Victor Vaserely. All are exploring and experimenting with a variety of media and building on their skills to become better artists and thinkers.
MYP1 Storyboarding

In MYP Language Acquisition, students bridge their existing language knowledge, fostering a deeper understanding of the curriculum through inquiry. Each language lesson invites students to shed preconceptions and embark on a daily journey of selfdiscovery and exploring the world around them.
MYP1 and MYP2 students focus on embracing new expressions and structures to converse about topics such as school life, families, homes, and leisure activities. In contrast, MYP3 and MYP4 students, depending on their proficiency level, delve into environmental issues, artistic expressions, traditions, and cultures within German and Spanishspeaking societies. More adept students tackle formal writing styles, preparing extensively for the eAssessment, with topics extending to globalisation, sustainability, and activities specific to certain German-speaking and Hispanic countries.
Students cultivate their international perspective by applying their conceptual understanding to diverse scenarios and refining their listening, reading, speaking, and writing skills. Exploring authentic materials allows for deeper immersion in varied topics, unveiling advanced verbal expressions, accents, and dialects that enrich the language learning experience.
In addition to the MYP Language Acquisition program, our Diploma Program offers Language Acquisition Ab initio and Language B SL/HL courses, catering to diverse linguistic backgrounds and proficiency levels. In Language Acquisition Ab initio, students with little to no prior exposure to the language embark on an immersive journey, building foundational listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. Through interactive activities and authentic materials, learners grasp essential vocabulary and grammatical structures, laying the groundwork for effective communication.

38students across all the MYP year groups and 2 teachers met at the start of the year. And what a year it has been!
The students have blossomed from being shy and having low confidence to giving confident presentations, making clear action plans, writing emails, essays, original stories and critical book reports. They are better able to deal with longer English texts, extrapolate details and are becoming more confident at inferring meaning of unknown words. In terms of listening, the students’ concentration and retention continue to improve and they are getting used to diverse accents as well as listening to talks about familiar and unfamiliar topics.
It has been wonderful to see them discover how grammar can help them express themselves better, how idioms and phrasal verbs can offer a cultural insight into English itself. The students are taking more risks and doing so, have found their unique voice and I am confident that in the future they will use it even more confidently.
What I am most pleased about is the students’ response to gaining learner autonomy. They are being trained to take a more active role in their learning through the making of action plans with SMART goals. They have also been trained to create learning resources such as interactive word banks, creating quizzes and accessing and engaging with self-study resources. This means the
This year has seen a wide range of learning opportunities for our MYP students. Through the mediums of practical and theoretical learning, students have been exposed to an array of topics and units.
Practically, students have taken part in some more traditional sports, such as Basketball, Volleyball and Badminton. Beyond the traditional and conventional, students have also had an opportunity to learn other sports such as Ultimate Frisbee, Kickball, Handball, Netball, Spikeball and Handball, to name a few. This spread of sports has given students the opportunity to explore catching and fielding, net and wall games, invasion games, as well as aesthetics.
Theoretically, students have had the opportunity to explore varied topics to enhance knowledge. This year, there has been an introduction into the syllabus for units such as the Haka, Fight Scene, Barriers to participation in sport and The Perfect Plate. These have coupled up with our existing, strong units such as Body Systems, Fruity Fitness Bars, Coaching, Play it your way (Leadership) and Feedback and Sports Psychology, as some examples. Not forgetting, the MYP5 e-portfolios as well.
In conjunction, students have had some amazing alternative opportunities beyond the conventional. Our students have been to wall climbing, ice skating, tennis/padel, zorb football, archery tag. In addition, our MYP3 students were able to attend the World Athletics Championships, way back in August 2023, right here in Budapest.
Our successes in school sport and leadership have many roots in the PHE curriculum and the department prides itself on the tools we give our students in order to be successful and strive in all aspects of school life. We look back on this academic year with much fondness, with much excitement and anticipation for the future, as our subject continues to be an integral part of BBIS life.

This year MYP4 PHE has been on a journey… and that began back in August during our Athletics based unit. Students took the role of a coach and a performance analyst to produce some excellent coaching cards. They created and designed brand new Olympic sports and pitched these ideas to the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
Sticking on the ‘controversial’ theme of the Olympics, students then researched and learned about the effects of several different Performance Enhancing Drugs (PED’s) and began to understand the reasons why elite athletes have taken PED’s in the past. They presented their research on PED’s to a group of MYP2 and MYP3 students in a carousel based activity which all students seemed to enjoy!
Students then learned about four of the main body systems; the circulatory system, the skeletal system, the respiratory system and the muscular system. This unit was a great introduction to the SEHS curriculum, should the students decide to take this subject at DP level and was a real eye opener into human anatomy and physiology.
As part of the requirement to take part in an aesthetics based unit, MYP4 students had to create their own version of the New Zealand and Maori dance ‘The Haka’. Students had to research different Haka based dances, create their own dance moves in the style of ‘The Haka’ and had the opportunity to create a script in a language of their choosing. An amazing experience to witness in so many ways…
MYP4, you have been an amazing group to teach this year and for some of you, I have had the pleasure of teaching for the past 3 years and I will remember you for many years to come.
PS: You will never listen to ‘Miley CyrusWrecking Ball’ the same again. Air comes into the Trachea…
Mr Bell

Ms WaiteThis year in Art with Mr Davidson. We learned about the Vanitas art movement and that still life objects meaning something about someone’s life. Creating monochromatic charcoal drawings of the objects. Embracing the shake and creating sculptures from different materials. Learning about perspective to take interesting photographs to use as a lino block print. Understanding about reduction prints and layering the colour to create the image. Drawing self portraits and then learning from other artists to create a final portrait painting in the style of the artist they researched.
Design in MYP4 this year has been a wild ride, packed with challenges but totally worth it. Students dove into all sorts of product design projects, really getting their hands dirty with crafting and learning how to work together as a team.
One of the toughest parts was mastering different design techniques. Whether it was digital modeling, working with non-textile material, or good old-fashioned drawing, students had to quickly get the hang of new tools and understanding what MYP Design looks like in the IB. It wasn’t easy and took a lot of patience and problem-solving.
But all that hard work paid off. Seeing their ideas go from simple sketches to actual, physical products was super satisfying. They got to experience the whole design process and really appreciate the effort that goes into creating something from scratch.
Working in groups also added another layer of learning. Students practiced communication, teamwork, and giving and receiving feedback, which not only improved their projects but also built a strong sense of community in the classroom.
Overall, MYP4 Design has been a fantastic experience. It’s given students a great foundation in product design and a taste of what it’s like to turn their creative ideas into reality. It’s been challenging, sure, but incredibly rewarding too. I look forward to next year in MYP5 where we will practice digital design and prepare ourselves for their final IB Design exam coursework.

Design in MYP5 this year has been a mix of challenges and rewards for students. They kicked things off with a large project, an interior design project that required them to practice patience and precision when it came to technical skill.
After that, they moved on to focus on their final exam portfolios. This part of the year was all about working tirelessly to perfect their designs and show off their best work. The portfolios were a chance to not only create something new but also to refine their skills, reflect on their processes, and showcase how well they understood the design process.
It wasn’t easy. Balancing the demands of a huge project and then diving into detailed portfolio work required a lot of time management and dedication. Students had to juggle multiple tasks, stay organised, and keep a high level of detail in everything they did.
But all that effort really paid off. Working on their portfolios let them see just how much planning and research goes into a design project. They got a deeper understanding of the design process and improved their ability to think critically and creatively.
Overall, Design in MYP5 has been an educational experience. I wish you all luck in your further studies, whether you are continuing into DP or venturing somewhere new.
Ms AdriaanThisyear in Art, all students developed their artistic skills building on the previous five years of the MYP towards the final ePortfolio. The first unit was researching an artist of their choice to learn and be influenced by the style and technique. They appropriated the chosen artwork to bring in their own personal interest with regard to subject matter and media. They all created a final interesting outcome based on their own development and investigation. The final unit of Connections was a challenge but all students stepped up and thoroughly researched the topic to produce some excellent technical work and thought provoking pieces of artwork.
As we come to the end of this school year, I want to take a moment to acknowledge the incredible progress you’ve made in MYP5 Music. From performing in our concert to learning to sing or play instruments, and exploring different types of dance music in your ePortfolio compositions, you have truly impressed me with your growth and dedication.
I hope you can see just how far you have come in this past year. You have risen to the challenges I presented and showcased your talents with passion and enthusiasm. Your performances and compositions reflect your hard work and commitment.
As you continue your journey, carry the skills and love for music you have developed in MYP5. Cherish the joy of performing, the creativity of composing, and the appreciation for music’s power.
Thank you for being a wonderful group of students. I am incredibly proud of each and every one of you.
With pride, Ms
WaiteIt has been a pleasure to teach MYP5 in PHE, as they have navigated their final year of the MYP programme. Continuing the work begun in MYP4, the students have worked exceptionally hard to finally get over the line in this final year.
Students have undertaken a range of units this year, ranging from sports psychology to Netball and Tag Rugby. The academic year has been dominated by and has culminated by their e-portfolios, where students have been focusing on coaching and being coached and sporting areas of their choice. Through a combination of coaching, filming, documenting and recording, feedback and analysis, students produced their extensive e-portfolios with a lot of grit and determination.
Through a continuation of the work started by Mr. Best in MYP4, it has been super satisfying to see students finish the course in a flourish. And regardless if students stay to continue with BBIS and venture onwards with SEHS in their further studies or alternative options, on behalf of myself and the department, I want to wish all the MYP5 the best for the future, whatever it may bring.

Asthe Diploma Programme Coordinator Miss O’Keeffe, I am thrilled to welcome you to this extraordinary collection of memories and achievements of our class of 2024 and 2025. This year marks a special milestone as we celebrate the first full cohort of Diploma students at BBIS and our class of 2024 graduates with the first full set of results.
I am so proud of the journey our Diploma students have been on and the qualities of a Diploma student they have shown from being resilient, knowledgeable, communicators, principled, openminded, and caring students. These profiles have shaped their academic and personal growth, fostering well-rounded individuals ready to impact the world positively.
The past year has been a journey for all students as DP1 have stepped (and some crawled) upwards into the shoes of a BBIS Diploma Student. The DP2 students faced the endless task of deadlines, tasks, IAs, IOs, Extended
Essays and, of course, University Applications with courage and maturity ( and sometimes tears) as they raced towards the finish line of DP2.This yearbook celebrates the academic and vibrant life at BBIS, and it is a testament to the countless hours of study and dedication, the camaraderie formed, and the talents expressed through Sports, Music, Theatre, Visual Arts Model United Nations, and numerous other activities.
There have been many exciting trips this year, such as our first MUN trip to Warsaw, where our students had the opportunity to engage in stimulating debates and diplomacy on an international stage. Our CAS trip to Tatabánya which allowed students to form relationships and where we engaged in meaningful community service activities. We embarked on residential trips to Slovenia, immersing ourselves in its breathtaking landscapes and rich cultural heritage. Finally, students faced their fears of the Slopes (or of a Miss O’Keeffe on ski’s) as
they took part in the annual ski trip to Austria. These trips provided a unique opportunity for personal growth, teamwork, and exploration of new environments.
Please enjoy our yearbook pages full of memories of the Diploma journey and a real testament of the unique and diverse community that we represent IBDP at BBIS!

& Mrs HorvathDear DP1 Students,
It is hard to believe that you have already finished half of your DP journey! Looking back at this year, even though it has passed so quickly, I can see how you have grown and matured both personally and academically, and I’m so proud of you for that. There are so many memories that I hope will stay with you: our CAS trip, trekking out to the Cube every morning, door decorations at Christmas, starting the EE journey, debating over Friday quiz answers, and happy times together in the DP lounge.
As your teacher and homeroom tutor, I consider myself fortunate to have had the opportunity to get to know you. We are a diverse group of personalities with unique interests, but we have managed to come together to build a really positive and uplifting space to start our days in homeroom.
I’m sure your first year of DP has had plenty of ups and downs. There are so many challenges to be confronted in completing the IBDP, and sometimes we aren’t even sure what “success” looks like for us. I encourage you now that you have completed this first big accomplishment in the DP – finishing your first year – to take the time to reflect on your choices and their results over the course of DP1. Did you accomplish your goals? What would you like to accomplish next year? What reputation do you want to leave behind
for the incoming class? Spending time in thought to make conscious decisions about these questions will definitely help you define your vision of success.
I am so proud of each of you and can’t wait to see all of the things you accomplish next year!
Dear DP1 Students,
As I reflect on this year, I’m filled with pride for each of you. Entering DP1 brought challenges, but you’ve navigated them with grace. The transition to the Diploma Programme marked a significant milestone in your education, and I’ve been continually impressed by how remarkably well you’ve navigated this new phase.
Despite the vibrant array of personalities within our group, what’s truly remarkable is how we’ve evolved into a cohesive community throughout this year. I truly love how you consistently greet me each morning with smiles and a positive attitude. You’ve shown a remarkable willingness to take initiative, learn from your mistakes, and support one another every step of the way. From delivering
your first assembly with bravery to participating in various events and activities.
In the words of H.E. Luccock, “No one can whistle a symphony, it takes an orchestra to play it.” Each one of you plays a vital role in our collective success, and I am immensely proud to be your homeroom teacher. Let’s continue to work together, support each other, and strive for excellence in all that we do.
Here’s to more memorable moments, challenges conquered, and successes celebrated in the days ahead.
With pride, Ms Szucs
Dear DP2 students/Class of 2024,
It has been quite the journey for you all! You all hold the honour of being the very first BBIS Graduating class! You have left remarkably large shoes for the DP1s to fill next academic year.
It has been an absolute pleasure being your Tutor this academic year. Seeing all your hard work and achievements come to fruition has certainly been the highlight of my first year here. Whether through the many university offers achieved (and some have been exceptionally impressive!) to getting ToK, IAs, theatre solo pieces and EEs all completed. It has been a tough year (DP is never easy)! But, you’ve overcome all the challenges and have (hopefully) learned many valuable life skills - many of which will be useful for life beyond a classroom.
DP2 students, I still can’t believe I am writing this letter to you the night before you sit your official IB exams. IT HAS BEEN A JOURNEY! I have really enjoyed watching you grow and gain confidence over the past two years. Some of you came to BBIS for a new life, not knowing many people and not even speaking much English. Some came for a second chance at a different education system. Some of you came..well, you never really left (right Anna?) because this was the place you knew, the teachers you trusted, and you felt something special about BBIS and its community.
Seeing you change, grow, adapt, and become mature young adults has been a pleasure. Trust me, all of those nights of worry, stress and hard work will certainly be worth it when you step into the next chapters of your lives, whether that be dancing in London, living the high life in Marbs, or settling into life in the US to name but a few. The friendships you have formed and the memories you have made of a small international community in Budapest will stick in your minds, and trust me; you will miss us! You have all truly mastered the skills of an IB student, and this is a skill that will, no doubt, serve you well in the future. Best of luck, guys, don’t forget to come and tell us all about your experiences in the “real world”.
We are immensely proud of you and wish you the best of luck in the next chapter of your life, whether taking a gap year, an internship or continuing on to university life. We wish you all the best in the future. Remember to pop back and let us know how you are doing (we may be able to give you a few hints for new pasta recipes on a budget).
Congratulations, good luck, and we will miss you all lots!
(go n-éirí an t-ádh leat)
Ms Bond & Ms O’Keeffe

Dear DP students,
As we reflect on our recent explorations in the realm of biology, I am filled with pride in the progress we have made together. Our journey through the intricate landscapes of cell biology and human physiology has been exhilarating.
Throughout our time together, we delved deep into the fundamental unit of life - the cell. From its structure to its functions, we dissected the intricate machinery that governs life at its most basic level. Whether exploring the wonders of cellular organelles or unravelling the mysteries of cellular processes, each discovery brought us closer to understanding the remarkable complexity of life itself.
Our exploration didn’t stop at the microscopic level; we also ventured into the fascinating world of human physiology. From the beating of the heart to the firing of neurons, we unravelled the intricacies of the human body’s systems and their interactions. Through our studies, we gained insight into how these systems work harmoniously to sustain life and maintain homeostasis.
But our journey wasn’t confined to the pages of textbooks and the confines of classrooms. We embarked on a series of experiments that brought theory to life and allowed us to witness firsthand the principles we studied.
As we move forward, let us carry with us the knowledge and experiences we have gained together. Let us remain curious, always eager to explore and discover the wonders of the natural world. And let us remember that our journey in biology is not merely about memorising facts and figures but about cultivating a deep appreciation for the beauty and complexity of life.
Dear students,
If you remember the video of the map of physics, you can tell that there is a big surface to cover through these DP years. However, despite the scary appearance of the challenge, you have been able to immerse yourselves into the subject and navigate through each topic to the best of your capacities. That warms my heart. I know you like some topics more than others, but despite your preference for mechanics or the distance you take from a question about electric circuits, I have always seen you curious, interested and putting your effort in every lesson. Thank you for that. Also, I really appreciate how you support each other, the great sense of humour and willingness to be better every day. That is part of what being an IB learner is all about.
I wish you great success in this journey across one of the most fascinating disciplines in the universe!
Sincerely,
Mr. GonzalezAs we take a break from mixing chemicals and pondering the mysteries of the universe, I wanted to drop you a quick note to say how incredibly proud I am of all your hard work this year. It’s been quite the experiment, hasn’t it?
From balancing equations like pros to bonding over bonding (both covalent and ionic, of course), you’ve tackled each topic with enthusiasm and a healthy dose of curiosity. And let’s not forget navigating the wild world of kinetics and energetics—talk about an energy boost!
Despite the occasional explosion (metaphorical, of course), you’ve shown amazing resilience and determination. Pushing through DP1 is no small feat, but you’ve handled it with grace and maybe a few chemistry jokes along the way.
As we gear up for more experiments, discussions, and the occasional pH scale rollercoaster ride, remember to keep pushing yourselves, keep asking questions, and keep those safety goggles handy!
On behalf of all your teachers and mentors, I want to wish you the best of luck as you continue your journey through the exciting world of chemistry. May your experiments be fruitful, your bonds be strong, and your reactions be reversible (when needed, of course).
And remember, if at first you don’t succeed, try, try a titration! Keep up the fantastic work, and let’s make the rest of DP1 one big chemical party! I wish you all the best in the movement into DP2, and your formal exams before University! Good luck, and have fun!
With warmest regards, Mr. Fleming

This year has been exciting with all diploma students pushing themselves with creativity and exploration of different subject matter and the meaning behind the visual artwork. They all worked on a self - portrait unit and expressed themselves in many different ways to create thought provoking artwork. They also explored modern art and gained an appreciation and understanding of other art forms. Exploring the human figure was a challenge but with very exciting developments and final outcomes. Currently all students are working on their own independent art portfolio with exploring a topic of their choice and will develop it over the year with thorough research and development towards a final exhibition.
It’s been a real pleasure having the DP Design Technology students this year. They’ve shown amazing dedication, working hard on their final Internal Assessment (IA) and prepping for their exams. They displayed a great mix of independence and teamwork, often collaborating effectively when studying together. Their initiative and proactive attitude have been truly impressive, and I have no doubt they’ll go on to do great things at university.
I just wanted to say how much I’ve enjoyed having you in class this year. You’ve all been amazing, and it’s been a real pleasure to watch you grow and spend time with you during this school year.
Your dedication and hard work have been incredible. You took charge of your learning and made the most of every opportunity. It was also great to see how well you collaborated and supported each other while studying together.
I’m really proud of everything you’ve achieved and the effort you’ve put in. I’m confident that the skills and determination you’ve shown will take you far as you move on to university.
Wishing you all the best in your future studies and more. Keep striving for excellence and reaching for your goals!
Warmest wishes,
Ms AdriaanAs we come to the end of the year, we are proud of each of you for your fantastic progress in Theory of Knowledge. Whether you have graduated from DP2, written your TOK essay using the nonlinear method, or just completed your DP1 TOK Exhibition while exploring knowledge questions, you have been engaging with challenging and abstract concepts, realising that TOK is all around us, manifested in the real world that we, as knowers perceive. Throughout the year, you’ve explored big ideas like truth, power, objectivity, and perspectives, and you’ve really grown in your understanding and analytical skills, enriching your logical reasoning when experiencing facts. You have prompted us to think in new ways about what it means to grow up in today’s world, where you encounter new questions about knowledge as you engage with artificial intelligence, fake news, social media, and increasing diversity. We have enjoyed debating with you, disagreeing with you and encouraging you to be more open-minded and take some risks.
Zaha Hadid was my key thinker and exemplary architect in the whole architecture field, the concept is art She was one of the greatest women who innovated, broke traditional norms and rules She is a woman I admire
“You really have to have a goal. The goal posts might shift, but you should have a goal. Know what it is you want to find out.”
In her quote, Zaha Hadid showed the importance of having a clear and defined purpose in life. Translating to the situation of my key thinker she had a goal and desire in life and achieved a massive result, people see her works and marvel.
Where has the year gone?! This has been a hectic and intense year, but you have taken it in your stride. Another year of investigations, presentations, key terms, pre-releases, exam preparation, IAs, marketing wonders, and oh, and don’t forget Alex’s favourite… The dreaded EE!
DP1, I have loved teaching you this year. I enjoy the passion, discussion points, and perspectives you have as individuals, as well as the knowledge, work ethic, and collaboration you bring as a collective. I look forward to seeing what you all can bring to the table next year. You certainly have big boots to fill after DP2 carved the Business pathway, but I am excited to see what you can do… P.S. Martina, I am STILL looking forward to trying your coffee!
DP2.. what can I say? It has been a journey of ebbs and flows, ups and downs, tears and frowns… No, really, I couldn’t be prouder of each of you, and I know that you will be successful in anything you put your mind to. You have all grown this year in knowledge, skills, and business sense. Just don’t forget
me when you all became millionaires! Always remember to SWOT, STEEPLE and be SMART in everything! Best of luck with your exams, and remember what is for you won’t go past you.
I look forward to celebrating with you all at our amazing Graduation!
Miss O’Keeffe
