Making a Formal Complaint
Where discussions with friends, staff or others have not resolved the problem, you may wish to make a formal complaint. In that case you should adopt the following procedure (you do not have to inform the person about whom you are complaining):-
Write or speak (taking advice from an adult if you wish) to either your Head of House, the Head of School (or his/ her Deputy) or the VicePrincipal Education to let them know that you wish to make a formal complaint.
Your complaint will then be registered online and kept by the relevant Head. You will then receive a note from the relevant Head (within two days of having made the complaint) saying that he/she has seen your complaint and that it is receiving attention. You will then be asked to talk the matter through with the person to whom you made the complaint. You may invite a pupil or a member of staff of your choice to come to this meeting with you. If at any stage you are dissatisfied with what happens, you may contact one of the School Governors who will come and speak to you privately at School – again you may have someone with you – and will advise you about which course seems sensible. Should you need to do so, you may also contact OFSTED on 0800 528 0731 or any of the numbers listed above.
