De Groene Connectie: een gezond stadslandschap in Rotterdam De Groene Connectie is een keten van groene initiatieven langs het tracĂŠ van de vroegere Havenspoorlijn in Rotterdam-West en de Heemraadsingel.

Het acht kilometer lange lint is zowel een groene route, als een 'gezond stadslandschap' dat alternatieve oplossingen biedt bij vragen rond burgerbetrokkenheid, participatie, inclusie, gezondheid en bewegen.

Gemeenten leren van de Nationale Groencompetitie

'Plant verwilderingsbollen voor een vroege voorjaarsvlucht' Hortulanus Gerard van Buiten kijkt voorbij de plant. Niet alleen de botanische rijkdom staat op zijn vizier, maar ook wat deze bijdraagt aan de versterking van bijen. Zijn devies is een combinatie van insectenlokkende bomen, heesters en vaste planten in het openbaar groen en tuinen.

Nieuwe normenboeken voor natuur en gemeentelijk groen De 10 meest bijzondere bomen van Drenthe De oudste, mooiste en meest bijzondere bomen van Nederland worden ditjaar door de Bomenstichting geselecteerd, gefotografeerd en beschreven. In deze laatste editie aandacht voor de 10 bomen van de ereklasse in de provincie Drenthe.

Om de kosten van aanleg en beheer van groen vooraf te kunnen calculeren, geeft Wageningen Environmental Research normenboeken uit. In november werd de eerste druk van een nieuw normenboek voor gemeentelijk groen gepresenteerd.

Een staalkaart van Europese tuinarchitecten in Limburg Ditjaar is het thema voor de Nationale Openmonumentendag "In Europa".

Alhoewel in de 1ge eeuw het begrip Europeaan nog niet bestond, bepaalden buitenlandse architecten de aanleg van kasteeltuinen in Limburg.

Hoveniers kunnen bijdragen aan klimaatadaptatie , 'Bij hoveniers is nog een wereld te winnen wat betreft duurzame tuinen', zegt Henriekus Stip. De hovenier werkt samen met Waterschap Vallei en Veluwe om wateroverlast te bestrijden. 'De inrichting van tuinen mag een grotere rolspelen bij het oplossen van problemen.'

Metwaarden van groen en blauw om de tekentafel

Hoe overtuigje stedenbouwkundigen en beleidsmakers ervan dat er bij stedelijke ontwikkeling meer aandacht moet komen voor groen en blauw? Dit kan door de maatschappelijke baten van dit natuurlijk kapitaal te presenteren in de te ontwikkelen ruimte. Het Natuurlijk Kapitaal Model maakt dit mogelijk.

Boomspiegels als bijenlint door Bennekom Boomspiegels, de plekken rondom de stam van een boom, zijn vaak niet de meest inspirerende elementen in een straat. Ze zijn geregeld overwoekerd door onkruid of, nog erger, er is grind in gestort en dan in gebruik als hondentoilet. In Bennekom wordt geprobeerd dat te veranderen door planten in de boomspiegels te zetten.

Leerlingen in het mbo-groen onderwijs kunnen nu op een innovatieve manier kennismaken met invasieve exoten.

Een opdrachtgever heeft een duidelijke visie opgesteld en dit verwoord in het programma van eisen en zo in het bestek geplaatst. Nu is de uitvoering begonnen en gaat het mis.

Groenonderzoeken voor ontwikkeling Verdi in Zuidas Op dit moment werkt de organisatie Amsterdam Zuidas aan plannen voor de ontwikkelingvan Verdi, het gebied tussen de Amstelveenseweg, de Schinkel en De Nieuwe Meer. Daarbij wordt specifiek gekeken naar de natuurwaarden die in het gebied aanwezig zijn.

Bodempaspoort: Regenworm In de aanloop naar Bodemdierendagen besteedt Vakblad Groen in de komende uitgaven aandacht aan een bodemdier. In deze editie trappen we af met de regenworm.

Na l januari 2019 is Stichting Operatie Steenbreek gefuseerd met Stichting Entente Florale en beide gaan samen verder onder de naam Stichting Steenbreek. Met een verbrede doelstelling wordt gewerkt aan concrete groene acties. Niet alleen in de eigen tuin, maar ook in de openbare ruimte.
