Cherry Delight...

Ingredient s: Crust

● 22-gram cracker rectangles (chocolate or original) Another option is 12 oz of animal crackers (original or chocolate) ● 4 tbsp (tablespoons) powdered sugar ● 1 ½ sticks of margarine (butter)

Filling ● Eight oz (ounces) of cream cheese ● Three cups of powdered sugar ● 8-12 oz cool whip

Topping ● Two 21 oz cans of cherry pie filling

Direct ions: For this recipe, a 9x13 pan will be needed. Crush the gram crackers of your choice thoroughly. (My family enjoys the chocolate animal crackers.) Stir in 4 tbsp of powdered sugar in a large bowl. Melt 1 ½ sticks of margarine in microwave safe bowl. Then stir in the margarine until the mixture is moist. Some crackers are too dry for this recipe so add more margarine if needed. Pat the mixture evenly over the bottom of the pan. In a separate bowl, mix in the cream cheese and powdered sugar 1 cup at a time. Beat until smooth. Then stir in the cool whip but be sure not to over mix the ingredients too thin. Spread the creamy mixture evenly over the crust and add in the 2 cans of cherry pie filling. When the dessert looks to your liking, place it in the fridge for chilling.
