Community Advisory Board Meeting Thursday, March 10, 2016 – 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Ron and Linda Yanke Family Research Park 220 E. Call to Order – Emily Walton Chair, Emily Walton, called the Boise State Public Radio (BSPR) Community Advisory Board (CAB) meeting to order at 6:05 p.m. Approval of January 2016 Meeting Minutes – Emily Walton Prior to the minutes being approved, discussion was held regarding the first point on page 2. Maria made a motion to change the word “discussed” to “disclosed”, Dede provided the second for the motion, and it was approved unanimously. Motion: David made a motion to approve the minutes as amended; seconded by Kristin. The motion was passed unanimously. Interim General Manager Update – Mark Wheeler and Peter Morrill Mark updated the CAB on the current status of the General Manager (GM) search. In summary, Livingston Associates has been recruiting for approximately 5 weeks, and the best consideration date is 3/11/2016. He shared that there are currently 31 applicants and they have not been assessed yet. The pool will continue to be narrowed down by multiple stakeholder groups, and in-person interviews of the 2-4 anticipated finalists are scheduled to take place at the end of April. The CAB asked that there be a specific time set aside for the CAB to meet with the finalists, and Mark will plan this time and inform the CAB. Peter Morrill, Interim GM, gave a general station update. Highlights as follows: • BSPR, led by News Director Scott Graf, has submitted two pieces to NPR recently, highlighting Idaho news in the national spotlight. • Peter gave a brief overview of the Fall 2015 Nielsen ratings that placed BSPR at the top of the listening market. After questions posed by the CAB, Kelly responded that approximately ~15% of the annual $475,000 taken in during pledge drives comes from KBSU (classical music) listeners. Kelly also gave an update on the planning in progress for the April 6-12th pledge drive. 1|Page
