Approval of Bob Youde as CAB Executive Committee Liaison All members were in favor of Bob becoming the CAB Executive Committee Liaison Station Projects for CAB involvement A. Outreach committee to broadcast regions. (Hess) How did the different area stations grow the way they grew? Tom Taylor believed that at one time BSR was looked at as being the quasi public radio station for the state. McCall, Twin Falls, Ketchum/Hailey. Cost for all of stations as of the end of April was $285,334.36 (number based on pcard expenditures). Cost of running Jackpot station is more than most other major areas. Boise accounts for 69% of members. Eastern Idaho audience – we cannot get accurate numbers from arbitron but…KBSW 4200, KBSS 500, KBSJ 500, KBSUFM 600, KEZJ 600. What kind of outreach can we do in that area over the next 68 months that could have some impact? John is going to find out from the president’s office what direction he wants to take with Jackpot. Paula would like to sit in on the committee. So would Bob. So would Janice and Pat. Darin said we need to decide if this is a moral decision or a business decision. B. Hispanic Radio L.M.A. project (Hess) Hispanic volunteer hosts would like to keep it amongst themselves and there is a member who is willing to help with grant writing. Before we sell the station on the market, John said we want to exhaust this option first. Want to continue the mission of “education”. Also talked about carrying on the student programming. We have until the end of June to let the university know what our plans are going to be for this station. Marshall is going to help Elva on a committee. C.
