***************** Call to Order – Susan Giannettino Chair Susan Giannettino called the Boise State Public Radio Community Advisory Board (CAB) meeting to order at 6:07 p.m. Approval of June 2012 Meeting Minutes – Susan Giannettino No discussion of minutes. Motion: Dede Ryan made a motion to approve the minutes as presented; seconded by Michael Zuzel. The motion was passed unanimously. CAB Nominations – Mary Reiman Presentation of Slate of Candidates: The committee (Mary Reiman, Emily Walton, Cornelia Sprung) reviewed the nominations that were provided for replacement CAB members. The nominations included Erin Duran (nominated by Emily Walton), Shikhar Sarin (nominated by John Hess), and David Lombardi (nominated by John Hess). The committee recommends that the Board appoint all three nominees. Motion: Micah Austin made a motion to appoint Erin Duran, Shikhar Sarin, and David Lombardi as new members to the Board; seconded by Dede Ryan. The motion was passed unanimously. Orientation Session for New Members: Orientation for new members will take place in November. John Hess will contact the new members and work on arranging a date that everyone can attend. As soon as the date is set, John will let the Executive Committee know. All Board members will be invited and encouraged to attend the orientation. Nomination Process Discussion: Camille Oldenburg suggested that in the future we may consider using a recruiter to assist us with finding new members. It was noted that it is important to have geographic diversity on the Board and work toward keeping members engaged without them having to physically attend meetings (that is, drive in to Boise); so far, that as proven to be challenging.
