2024 BMX New Zealand National Championships

Page 1

It is with immense pride and enthusiasm that I welcome you all on behalf of BMX NZ to the NZ 2025 BMX National Championships, hosted by the Mainland South region and the wonderfully hospitable Southland BMX Club.

This event is a true highlight of our BMX calendar, bringing together the best of our riders, officials, supporters, and the wider community in celebration of this incredible sport.

It’s inspiring to gather here in Invercargill and celebrate the talent and passion so evident within the BMX community across the country. With over 550 Challenge and Championship riders entered, it’s clear that the sport continues to thrive and grow across our island nation

A huge thank you goes to Southland BMX Club, the organising committee and sponsors and also the Mainland South Region for their hard work in bringing this showcase event to life.

Of course, an event of this scale wouldn’t be possible without the effort of so many often-

unsung heroes. Our gratitude extends to the volunteers, and the officials who have worked tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure the smooth running of this event. Your contribution is truly the backbone of our sport.

To all our competitors, we wish you every success as you take to the track. Whether you’re here to claim a title, make the final to qualify for Worlds in Copenhagen or Brisbane, or simply to enjoy the challenge, give it your all and savour the experience.

When this exciting event concludes, we wish you safe travels as you return home, and we look forward to seeing you again trackside soon

Welcome

On behalf of the Mainland South Region I would like to welcome all the compe tors, families, volunteers and supporters to the 2025 Na onal Titles.

It is incredibly exci ng to see so many athletes making the effort to travel here for this year’s compe on. As a region, we understand how difficult it can be to travel so far for BMX events.

As a rela vely new track, it really is great to have so many top-class riders here to put it to the test. The many volunteers in the Southland Club have done a tremendous job in presen ng this facility in such great shape.

Special thanks to all the sponsors and community providers who have supported the Southland club to facilitate this event. Without this local support events like this just can’t go ahead.

To all the officials and volunteers who give up their me to support the running of this event your contribu on is very much appreciated by all the riders and their families, without your contribu on there can be no racing. We are very lucky in the Deep South to have great support from all the regions clubs. And having the Na onal tles in our region means many of our riders can compete in an event that is otherwise out of reach.

Welcome to the Southernmost BMX club on the planet.

On behalf of Southland BMX, we extend a huge welcome to the wider BMX family from around NZ. We are incredibly proud of our club, facility and region. We hope you enjoy your stay.

This is our first opportunity to showcase our new facility to the BMX world beyond our mainland south region, and we can’t wait to share it.

Obviously, we would not be in a posi on to hold this incredible event without the support of the Southland community in the way of sponsorship. We have many small and medium size businesses who have all come on board to help us deliver this to the greater community, for this we are indebted to their generosity.

To our many funders, this facility and event would not be possible without you. As a region we are incredibly lucky to have such incredible funders who see the value in providing its people with world class facili es and events.

To our club members, you guys have been amazing; to get our new track completed and

then ready for this event it has been a huge task over the last few years I hope many of you get to sit back watch your riders while BMX NZ put on a great show.

To all the riders both young and old, we appreciate your efforts in coming south. Enjoy your stay ride well and stay safe.

I personally can’t wait to see the amazing displays of skill and speed that we will no doubt be in abundance throughout the week.

To our event manager, your passion for the sport is unwavering. From everybody thanks.

Lastly let the Southland BMX Na onals be a memorable one for you all.

Riders Ready, watch the gate.

Regards
