On behalf of the BMX New Zealand Board, it is my pleasure to welcome everyone to the 2025 BMX New Zealand South Island Titles, hosted by Mainland South Region at the Alexandra BMX Club in the stunning Central Otago region.
This event is a significant milestone on our annual BMX calendar, and it’s wonderful to gather here in Alexandra to celebrate the talent and passion within our BMX community. With 300 riders entered, it’s clear that the sport continues to thrive and grow across New Zealand.
A huge thank you goes to the Alexandra BMX Club and also the Mainland South Region for their hard work in bringing this event to life. We’re also looking forward to seeing them take the lead again when they host the 2025 BMX New Zealand National Championships in Invercargill this March.
Of course, an event of this scale wouldn’t be possible without the effort of so many. Our gratitude extends to the Alexandra BMX Club, the volunteers, and the officials who have worked tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure the smooth running of this event. Your contribution is truly the backbone of BMX in New Zealand.
To all our competitors, we wish you every success as you take to the track. Whether you’re here to claim a title, make the finals, or simply enjoy the challenge, give it your all and savour the experience.

Firstly, I must thank our amazing Club and South’s Committee. We truly are a small but mighty team, and I am in ore of what we have achieved as a club in the last 12 months. To our Track Team and volunteers who have put in so much time and effort preparing our fantastic facility for this event, thank you so much. The time you have committed to this is nothing short of phenomenal. Your hard work and effort has been very much appreciated from club working bees, continuous track maintenance, working behind the scenes and I can very confidently say that this track, facility and event would not be what it is today without you all. I hope you get the opportunity to put your feet up this weekend and enjoy what you have made happen. To our kids; the riders of the Alex BMX Club - this is all for you. This is your time to shine.
