You travelled to India, met Jeremy Simons and decided to become a photographer. What motivated you to take that decision? I was 22, I’d finished my studies in London and decided to buy a ticket to go around the world for almost 7 months. The first stop was India. I met him there, then I worked as his assistant. I came back to Spain without a single penny but instead with a spectacular portfolio and with the certainty that photography had become the most important part of my life, an obsession almost. Your photography is erotic, provocative and defiant. What are you trying to tell us through this language? I understand art as a means of provocation; an image cannot leave you indifferent, it should excite you, challenge you or simply stimulate your imagination. Eroticism, beauty and sensuality awaken our most basic instincts. My style is very sexy. I call it Sexycologic.
Viajas a India, te cruzas con Jeremy Simons y decides convertirte en fotógrafo… ¿Qué te ha movilizado a tomar esta decisión? Tenia 22 años , acabe mis estudios en Londres y decidí comprar un billete para dar la vuelta al mundo durante casi 7 meses. La primera parada fue India. Allí lo conocí, luego trabajé como su asistente. Volví a España sin un solo penique pero con un espectacular portafolio y con la certeza que la fotografía se había convertido en el elemento más importante de mi vida, casi una obsesión. Tu fotografía es erótica, provocativa y transgresora. ¿Qué intentas decirnos con este lenguaje? Entiendo el arte como un modo de provocación, una imagen no te puede dejar indiferente, debe emocionarte, cuestionarte o simplemente estimular tu imaginación. El erotismo, la belleza y la sensualidad despierta nuestros instintos más básicos. Mi estilo es muy sexy, le llamo Sexycologic.
