El séptimo arte de América Latina retorna a la capital cubana con la 43 edición del Festival Internacional del Nuevo Cine Latinoamericano. Del 1 al 11 de diciembre, la icónica cita cultural acoge un amplio catálogo de obras y actividades colaterales que distinguen el afamado encuentro anual. Con la propuesta “Cine a lo grande” convida a regresar a la magia de las salas y los proyectores, a vivir la experiencia desde la gran pantalla. En este sentido, convoca a Concursos de Ficción, Documental, Animación, Óperas Primas, Guiones Inéditos y Carteles. Se incluyen además, variadas cintas contemporáneas provenientes del resto del mundo, así como espacios, paneles y seminarios que abordan interesantes temáticas de la esfera cultural y fundamentalmente fílmica.

Back to movie theaters during the “Festival Internacional del Nuevo Cine Latinoamericano” Latin American cinema returns to Havana with the 43rd Festival Internacional del Nuevo Cine Latinoamericano. From December 1 to 11, the emblematic festival will host a wide range of works and side events that distinguish the famous annual event. With its slogan “Cine a lo grande”, the festival seeks a return to the magic of movie theaters and projectors, to live the experience from the big screen. In this regard, it calls contests for Fiction, Documentary, Animation, First Works, Unpublished Screenplays and Posters.

Por su parte, el sector Industria comprende distintas iniciativas, tal es el caso del Encuentro sobre Mercado y Distribución, que propicia el intercambio sobre la comercialización en este ámbito desde el punto de vista académico, como parte esencial del ciclo de producción. Con este fin, comprende conferencias, clases magistrales, reuniones de trabajo y sesiones de pitching. Más de 2000 filmes fueron registrados en la presente convocatoria, así como alrededor de 200 carteles y guiones inéditos. De esta forma, el tradicional evento propone un variado programa que promete cautivar a los espectadores en sus más diversas preferencias. Además de los galardones en las diferentes categorías, esta edición incluye una novedad, se estará otorgando por primera vez el Premio de la Diversidad a la mejor obra de temática queer, cuya selección será realizada por un jurado independiente.
