Founded in 1975, it features over 32km of groomed trails for classic and freestyle technique with 8km lit for night skiing and snowshoeing. The rustic, log-sided chalet offers a bar, food services, BBQ Pit, fireplace, restrooms, Wi-Fi & media equipment, along with friendly staff. The club’s world-class Koch Trail System was designed by U.S. Olympic medallist Bill Koch and Dartmouth College’s Al Merrill, for the 1983 and 1985 FIS World Cup Championships. All trails are maintained daily each winter by Alf Parsons, a renowned, World Masters multi-medal winner, who uses a modern PistenBully 100 groomer. With an extensive rental inventory for classic and freestyle skiing, snowshoes and child sleds, you’ll also find warming cabins, along with programs for youth, women, and seniors, including all levels of instruction. A high-performance training centre for elite Canadian cross-country ski teams, the club has hosted 47 Great Labrador Loppets, national and international championships, and World Cup competitions. To top it off, Menihek Nordic will also be hosting the 2024 Canadian National Masters Championships. Boasting a ski season that’s longer than five months, Labrador City is a snow monster receiving early snowfall and over 14 feet of snow per season amidst cold temperatures.
