Snowshoeing, XC skiing, and fat biking are permitted on the Mount Peg trails, while the Mount Tom system welcomes snowshoers and cross-country skiers.
The Mount Tom network includes miles of trails in the Marsh-BillingsRockefeller National Historical Park, Vermont’s only national park where some 80 inches of snow falls each winter.
At the Woodstock Nordic Center, a new favourite is fat biking on frozen meadows and Mount Peg’s backcountry routes — bring your own rig as fat-tire rentals are not available.
The lodge at the base of Mount Peg houses a large retail ski shop with soft goods and gear, equipment rentals, repair shop, along with Nordic ski lessons for all levels and guided tours.
The luxurious accommodations at the Inn feature uniquely designed rooms and suites such as the Alpine Room, the Woodstock King and the Tavern Queen. Each room exudes a feeling of comfort and historic preservation. The Garden level king guest rooms are pet-friendly.
Farm-fresh cuisine, carefully harvested ingredients and regional recipes inspire the seasonal menus at the Woodstock Inn & Resort’s distinctive restaurants from the award-winning Red Rooster, to Richardson’s Tavern and the seasonal Red Barns at Kelly Way Gardens. Enjoy more comfort at the on-site spa which boasts a 10,000-square-foot, LEED-certified facility featuring 10 treatment rooms, a boutique and unique seasonal treatments.
Many other features at the resort include the Woodstock Athletic Club fitness facility, indoor and outdoor tennis, an 18-hole golf course, a falconry centre, an Orvis-endorsed fly-fishing program, the Billings Farm & Museum, along with hiking in the
Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Historical Park which hosts interactive educational programs, film series, holiday events and more. The nearby Saskadena Six ski area, one of the oldest in the USA, was home to America’s first alpine ski rope tow.
An ideal location for corporate retreats, business meetings, social gatherings and family reunions, the Woodstock Inn & Resort can accommodate up to 300 people, with 10,000 square feet of flexible event and meeting space to choose from.
With crackling fires and a family-friendly library with games and of course books, the Inn offers a romantic look at New England’s past and present.

Built by the Rockefeller family, the Woodstock Inn & Resort is notable as the home of the country’s first ski town and a quintessential New England guesthouse.
With a legacy that’s deeply rooted in the Woodstock community, the Inn is cherished for its preservation of New England’s history, heritage and elegance. -JA
