WATERMELON SMASH
JULY 22ND VS. SSK
Today our squad tangles with the Saskatchewan Roughriders in another big West Division matchup. Vernon Adams and the Lions are aiming to build off a solid performance against Montreal two weeks ago. For a second straight game, all three of VA’s 1,000-yard receivers are in the lineup. Look for them to try to make big plays and set the early tone. Plus, CFL-sack leader Mathieu Betts and this elite defence continue to shine with just one touchdown allowed in the two home victories this season.
Not only will it be a showdown on the turf, the rivalry also extends to our two sets of fans in the stands. With pre-game BC Lions Backyard Bash Head-To-Head Battle at Terry Fox Plaza, to the Orange vs. Green Ultimate Fan Challenge at halftime, it’s sure to be a day full of fun, excitement and heated competition.

One of the more overused CFL cliches ever muttered is “The season really doesn’t get going until after Labour Day.” Bogus, if you ask us. Just take a look at the opportunity being presented to the 4-1-0 BC Lions ahead of a clash against the 3-2-0 Saskatchewan Roughriders on Saturday (4:00 pm/SaveOn-Foods Field at BC Place/TSN/CBS/AM730)...
