TOYOTA T-TEN Cypress College offers our automotive students the Toyota Technician and Education Network (T-TEN) course track. This program begins with AT 109C, introduction to Toyota during the summer session. Students successfully passing AT 109 are advanced into a two year cohort of cooperative education, work experiences that begin in the Fall semester. Seniors begin with a paid internship at a dealer during their first year. Contact Michael Klyde for an application and to set up an interview appointment.

START YOUR ENGINES CAREER

GENERAL PROGRAM Have a passion for cars? Looking for an “in-demand” career? Our general automotive program offers classes for women and men that lead to employment in the automotive industry. Certificates are earned in the core areas of electrical, brakes, steering/ suspension, engines, engine performance and transmissions/drivelines. We also offer certificates for the service and business side of the dealer and aftermarket companies that are part of SEMA (Specialty Equipment Marketing Association).

FINANCIAL AID

Community Colleges are very affordable at just $46 per unit for California residents. For students needing additional financial support, financial aid may be available through grants, loans or high school district partnerships. Students are advised to apply for aid via the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid at www.fafsa.ed.gov) or CADAA (California Dream Act Application at http:// www.csac.ca.gov/california-dream-act).

While we cannot guarantee every student a job, there is a huge demand for skilled technicians. They have also been successful working at independent repair shops and their own automotive businesses. How much can an Automotive Technician earn?
