NIGEL AYKROYDCHI EF EXEC NOT ES
A warm welcome to Maes Tegid this afternoon for our first ever competitive fixture against League newcomers Colwyn Bay. Our visitors have made a very successful transition from English League football and are now at the top table of Welsh Domestic football having gained promotion last season from the JD Cymru North. It is a breath of fresh air to welcome them to the JD Cymru Premier and we look forward to hosting their well supported following in Bala this afternoon.
It certainly has been a very difficult period for us on the pitch over the last few weeks. The early season form and undefeated run seems a long time ago as we now are on a run of 4 straight defeats and a distinct lack of ability to score a goal. We have only netted once in these last 4 defeats and clearly this is something which Colin and his team must address as soon as possible. Hopefully the corner will be turned today and that the little bit of luck which deserted us during an excellent performance last Saturday in Newtown will return at Maes Tegid this afternoon. We certainly gave a much improved performance last Saturday and I can only hope that the team will build on that and produce a match winning display this afternoon.
Following the match today we have an intriguing Welsh Cup fixture next Friday evening against Llandudno. Please note this is an 8 pm kick off on Friday the 13th of October. We have been knocked out already of the Nathaniel MG League Cup so this tournament is high on our priority list and it promises to be an exciting match under the lights at Maes Tegid.
I close by once again offering all the supporters from Colwyn Bay a very warm welcome to Maes Tegid. We hope you enjoy our Bala hospitality.
Diolch, Nigel.
Swap the terraces for the pitch and enjoy football from the best seat in the house.

ACADEMY ROUND-UP
Our U14’s, U16’s and Development sides were in action on the weekend, as they all competed in their fourth league game of the season.
Our Development side would unfortunately fall to a heavy defeat at the hands of Colwyn Bay’s Development side, as they now look on to this weekend where they will take on Airbus UK’s Development side in the FAW Youth Cup.
Meanwhile, our U16’s side would also face Colwyn Bay U16’s but would be defeated 4-0, despite being level at the break. Another tough test is to follow this weekend, as they host Connah’s Quay Nomads U16’s at Maes Tegid.
Our U14’s side would host the FAW Girls Academy North U17’s side at Maes Tegid, where they were unlucky in getting a result as the visitors grabbed a 2-1 win. Next up for our U14’s will be a trip to Connah’s Quay Nomads U14’s this weekend, with their counterparts sitting joint top of the league.
Our U13’s side had no game this past weekend, but will return this weekend as they also host Connah’s Quay Nomads U13’s at Maes Tegid, who also sit on top of the U13’s league.
We would like to wish all of our Academy players the best of luck in their upcoming fixtures, pob lwc i chi gyd!
Cwsg yn Dawel Rich
Gyda thristwch mawr yr ydym yn estyn ein cydeimdeimlad dwysaf a theulu a chyfeillion Richard John Edwards ( Rich bach )
Bu yn chwarae rhan fwyaf o’i bêl droed yma ar Faes Tegid dros gyfnod o bedair degawd, o’r chwedegau hwyr hyd at ddechrau’r ganrif hon.
Roedd ei arddull a’i ymroddiad at y gêm yn un na fedr neb ei ddisgrifio, yn ysgafn ei gorff, yn athletwr, gyda chalon enfawr.
Yn wir mae un gair yn dod i’r meddwl sydd yn disgrifio Rich Bach i’r dim, LEGENED.
Cwsg yn dawel Rich.
It is with great sadness that we extend our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Richard John Edwards (Rich Bach)
He played most of his football here on Maes Tegid over a period of four decades, from the late sixties until the beginning of this century.
His style and dedication to the game was one that no one could describe, light in body, an athlete, with a huge heart.
Indeed one word comes to mind that describes Rich Bach, LEGEND.
Sleep in peace Rich.
