Nigel's Notes

My last warm welcome of the season to you all at Maes Tegid this afternoon as we welcome high flying Penybont for the final JD Cymru Premier match. As I have outlined before it has been an extremely difficult and disappointing run of results since the beginning of Phase 2. We are yet to secure a win and find ourselves firmly in 6th place in the League. Performances have been severely affected again by a continuous run of injuries which has significantly depleted the squad available for selection. However despite some encouraging displays we remain winless and we need a morale boosting performance today to give us some level of confidence as we turn to the lottery of the European Play Offs. At the time of writing we are unable to advise as to who and when we will play but it is more than likely that it will be an away fixture. Our last match resulted in another disappointing defeat at the home of the Champions TNS but there were certainly shoots of encouragement on show last Friday and perhaps the loss to a very late and somewhat harsh penalty was undeserved. If we can reproduce an element of this form then the distant hope of European qualification could become a lot closer in reality. We must believe and fight every step of the way to achieve this golden chalice.

We are hosting our Annual Presentation immediately after the match this afternoon in the Plas Coch. We would love to see as many as possible join us. As we are all aware now the Club once again achieved the FAW Domestic Licence and also the UEFA European Licence. The work which has had to go into this achievement is extremely considerable and I must take this opportunity to sincerely thank Ruth Crump for the tremendous work she has done to ensure the success of these applications. We can now look forward to another season at the highest level of Welsh Domestic football. Diolch Ruth. My sincere thanks and appreciation to all our Club Sponsors who are indeed the lifeblood of this Club and have continued their superb support all year. We are seriously indebted to you all.

And a final thanks to all our hardworking Club volunteers without whom we would not have a Football Club. The Club is so grateful for everything you do for us. An extremely challenging season draws to a close. It certainly does not get any easier to keep this small Club at the very top and unless some dramatic changes to support from the FAW is forthcoming then we will have to adjust to reflect the resources available to us. Difficult and challenging times ahead for us all.

Thank you all most sincerely for your continued support and attendance at Maes Tegid this season.

Diolch yn fawr!

NIGEL!
