I begin to write these programme notes on the Saturday morning immediately after one of the most disappointing evenings of football which I have witnessed watching Bala Town. We were truly humbled in Caernarfon last night and the level of the second half performance was nowhere near what is expected from our squad. Indeed it was at times an embarrassment and quite obviously there must be a dramatic improvement if we are going to compete this afternoon against a strong and fiercely competitive Cardiff Met team. We can of course relate to the ever increasing injury list which ruled out 8 players but we should and must expect a lot more commitment and resource from the others in the squad. We must now try to build some confidence by improved performances in the last 3 League fixtures before we go into the European play offs. These are critical times for us all but we have faced dire situations in the past and our resilience together has always proved to be the overriding factor which sees back on the path to success.
We warmly welcome all who have travelled from Cardiff for today’s match and repeatedly thank each and everyone for attending and supporting us at Maes Tegid this afternoon.
Please may I remind all our supporters to place your vote for “Supporters Player of the Year” award. Voting slips will be available for you at the match today. The Awards will be presented in our End of Season get together immediately after our last Home fixture and indeed our last League fixture on Saturday April 19th in the Plas Coch. You are all most welcome to join us for this event which will bring all players, management, committee and supporters together in the Plas.
I also hope you may have noticed the promotion of this season’s Bragdy Cup competition on Social Media and on posters in the town. Please enter a team and join in on this historical tournament which will kick off in mid May.
The deadline for submission of all Domestic and UEFA Licensing criteria is on March 31st. Our Secretary Ruth Crump has again worked tirelessly to ensure that everything is in place to secure both Licenses. Every year there is more and more work which has to be done to achieve a successful application and the demands on Clubs are ever increasing. It is a particularly stressful and demanding time and I can only thank Ruth for the huge work that is put in to ensure success.
It is also with great pleasure that we welcome Ifan Edwards as our Match Day Sponsor to Maes Tegid this afternoon. Ifan has been a tremendous and most generous Sponsor of our Club for many years and we are indebted to him for his continued support and commitment to Bala Town. I sincerely hope that himself, his family and all his guests enjoy their afternoon with us. We are all so grateful!!
I close by hoping for a seriously impressive bounce back after last Friday and a performanceto set up up for a successful conclusion to the season.

Bala Town FC are hugely delighted that A.N. RICHARDS LTD have again continued their superb support and sponsorship of the Club. The continuation of our relationship with them is of huge significance to us all at Maes Tegid and we are delighted to have this well known North Wales company as our Players Shorts Sponsors for the whole of our 2024/25 campaign.
Bala Town FC are hugely grateful to Ifan Edwards for his most generous sponsorship of our JD Cymru Premier match this afternoon against Cardiff Met.
Ifan is seen pictured below with Bala Town Chief Exec Nigel Aykroyd. Ifan has been supporting our Club for many years and we are delighted that this relationship continues to flourish. Without such superb support the Club would be unable to maintain the levels of success which we achieve on an annual basis and we are so grateful to Ifan for everything he does for our Club.
We sincerely hope that Ifan and all his guests will all enjoy your afternoon with us at Maes Tegid. Diolch yn ofnadwy am eich cymorth.
