Community Service
awa members contribute thousands of volunteer hours each year Over the years, AWA’s Community Service has supported a variety of charity organizations in Singapore. We’ve designed programs to allow our members to choose from a number of different schedules and volunteer options. Currently we are actively involved in the following four organizations as a way to help the local community. Locations are at the National University Hospital and the Institute of Mental Health. You can choose a six hour shift of either 9am-3pm or 3pm-9pm. The minimum commitment is three months and two shifts per month. Ronald McDonald at RMHC
The Ronald McDonald House Charity Singapore (RMHC) is looking for volunteers to support day-today administration duties. Volunteer responsibilities include assisting in the general operation of the House or Family Room by providing comfort and support to the families, helping with various daily and weekly chores, and registering families for fingerprint access that will allow them to use the House and Family Room while their children are being treated in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.
Willing Hearts operates a soup kitchen that prepares, cooks and distributes over 6,500 meals to needy families every single day of the year. From chopping vegetables, marinating chicken thighs, making dumplings, packing meals, washing dishes and loading delivery trucks, no two volunteering sessions are ever the same. You never know what roles you might be assigned, and the menu always changes.
