As per the latest reports, another set of conspiracy theorists have come up with the idea that our Earth is a hollow sphere. That means they are claiming that our Earth is neither round nor flat, rather it is a hollow sphere. In an article published in the Daily Mail, a new, growing community of conspiracy theorists has suggested that our Earth is Hollow and at its center, there is a paradise where many ‘superior’ alien humans, Nazis and Vikings live.

Although, majority of the people believe that our Earth is round, but now, a couple of conspiracy theorist groups have come up with different shapes of our Earth like the Earth is flat like a disk or hollow from within. Those people who believe that the Earth is hollow are called the hollow-Earthers. After analyzing an ancient map these hollow-Earthers, are now convinced that there is a road inside our Earth which leads to the paradise.

They also believe that UFOs and flying saucers are sent from the interior of the globe by ‘guardians of the planet’ to keep an eye on the human race and prevent potential nuclear war.

Mr. Cluff said, “More and more people are coming to terms with the fact that the Earth is hollow. I get emails from people learning about it every day. It’s definitely growing in popularity – certainly not in the millions but maybe in the thousands.”

In 2007, Cluff had planned a voyage to the hollow Earth through an opening in the North Pole, but later, he canceled the plan. Now he claims that there two openings into the inner Earth near the poles and one in the Himalayas. According to him, at the center of the Earth, there is a paradise in which superhumans are there, and they are joined by the Nazis from World War II and the lost Viking colonies. Inside the Earth also, there is the sun that is divided by day and night sides. Cluff said that he believes that the shell of the Earth is around 800 miles thick, from the outside to the inner surface.

Cluff is against the claim made by the flat-Earthers. “I don’t know how the flat-Earthers can be so confused. They are obviously wrong. The world is not flat – it’s hollow. They reject all the evidence,” he said. Unlike, the flat-Earthers, the hollow-Earthers believe that our Earth is spherical but with a hollow body. Their conspiracy theories also suggest that the moon, the stars, the Sun, and other planets are all hollow bodies.

Deep Vein Thrombosis: A Pain That Cannot Be Ignored

Sankara Eye Foundation Provides First Free Eye Clinic In Austin

India achieved independence from British raj on 15 August 1947 following the Indian independence movement noted for largely peaceful non-violent resistance and civil disobedience led by Mahatma Gandhi.

The independence came through the Indian Independence Act 1947 (10 & 11 Geo 6 c 30), an Act of the Parliament of the United Kingdom that partitioned British India into the two new independent Dominions of the British Commonwealth (later Commonwealth of Nations).

India obtained its independence on 15 August 1947 as a constitutional

monarchy with George VI as head of state and the Earl Mountbatten as governor-general.

The country, though, did not yet have a permanent constitution; instead its laws were based on the modified colonial Government of India Act 1935.

On 28 August 1947, the Drafting Committee was appointed to draft a permanent constitution, with Dr B R Ambedkar as chairman. While India’s Independence Day celebrates its freedom from British Rule, the Republic Day celebrates the coming into force of its constitution. A draft constitution was prepared by the committee and submitted to the Assembly on 4 November 1947.

Makar Sankranti is one of the few ancient Hindu festivals that has been observed according to solar cycles, while most festivals are set by the lunar cycle of the lunisolar Hindu calendar. Being a festival that celebrates the solar cycle, it almost always falls on the same Gregorian date every year (January 14), except in rare years when the date shifts by a day for that year, because of the complexity of earthsun relative movement.

ous names such as Lohri by north Indian Hindus and Sikhs, Sukarat in central India, Bhogali Bihu by Assamese Hindus, and Pongal by Tamil and other south Indian Hindus.

Makar Sankranti is observed with social festivities such as colorful decorations, rural children going house to house, singing and asking for treats (or pocket money), melas (fair), dances, kite flying, bonfires and feast. The Magha Mela, according to Diana L. Eck – a professor at Harvard University specializing in Indology, is mentioned in the Hindu epic, the Mahabharata, thus placing this festival to be around 2,000 years old.

Many go to sacred rivers or lakes and bathe with thanksgiving to the sun. Every twelve years, the Hindus observe Makar Sankranti with one of the world’s largest mass pilgrimage, with an estimated 40 to 100 million people attending for the event. At this event, they say a

prayer to the sun and bathe at the Prayaga confluence of the River Ganga and River Yamuna at the Kumbh Mela, a tradition attributed to Adi Shankara.

Makar Sankranti is set by the solar cycle of the Hindu lunisolar calendar, and is observed almost always on 14 January, and signifies the arrival of longer days. Makar Sankranti falls in the Hindu calendar solar month of Makara, and lunar month of Magha. It marks the end of the month with winter solstice and the darkest night of the year, a month that is called Pausha in lunar system and Dhanu is solar system of Hindu time keeping methodology. The festival celebrates the first month with consistently longer days. The festival is dedicated to the Hindu sun god, Surya. This significance of Surya is traceable to the Vedic texts, particularly the Gayatri Mantra, a sacred hymn of Hinduism found in its scripture named the Rigveda.

The festival also marks the beginning of a six months auspicious period for Hindus known as Uttarayana period. Makar Sankranti is regarded as important for spiritual practices and accordingly people take a holy dip in rivers, especially Ganga, Yamuna, Godavari, Krishna and Cauvery. The bathing is believed to result in merit or absolution of past sins. They also pray to the sun and thank for their successes and prosperity. A shared cultural practices found amongst Hindus of various parts of India is making sticky, bound sweets particularly from sesame (til) and a sugar base such as jaggery (gud, gur). This type of sweet is a symbolism for being together in peace and joyfulness, despite the uniqueness and differences between individuals.

For most parts of India, this period is a part of early stages of the Rabi crop and agricultural cycle, where crops have been sown and the hard work in the fields is mostly over.

The time thus signifies a period of socializing and families enjoying each other’s company, taking care of the cattle, and celebrating around bonfires.

Makar Sankranti is an important pan-Indian solar festival, known by different names though observed on the same date, sometimes for multiple dates around the Makar Sankranti. It is known as Pongal in Tamil Nadu, Pedda Panduga in Andhra Pradesh, Biku in Assam, Magha Mela in parts of central and north India, as Makar Sankranti in the west, and by other names.

It is celebrated differently across the Indian subcontinent. Many people take a dip in places like Ganga Sagar (the point where the river Ganges meets the Bay of Bengal) and Prayag and pray to the Sun God (Surya). This volunteer lead initiative was only possible due to the generous donations received during the Sankara Eye Foundation Fundraiser held to sponsor this clinic.

Donations totaling around 3,000 dollars were used in its entirety to sponsor a mobile bus unit containing a lab and clinic provided by the Essilor Vision Foundation.

The charitable work done by this organization allows millions of individuals with curable blindness and visual impairments to obtain an independent lifestyle and reintegrate themselves into society, a noble cause that many volunteers across India and America continually support.

The meridians of each sphere were covered with rectangular steel plates, in which LED lighting was integrated. The LED application illuminates the bulbs at night. The lights can also flash simultaneously or in turns at each meridian, symbolizing the range of an electron around its core.

On 14 February 2006, the Atomium was officially reopened by then Prince Philippe, and on 18 February 2006, it opened again to the public.

The renovation cost €26 million.

Brussels and the Atomium Association paid one third of the costs, the Belgian government financed two thirds.To help pay for renovations, pieces of the old aluminium plates were sold to the public as souvenirs. One triangular piece about 2 metres (7 ft) long sold for €1,000.

On the occasion of the reopening, a 2 euro commemorative coin depicting the building was issued, in March 2006, to celebrate the renovation.

The Wicked Barber’s Plight

As we all know, Birbal was not only Emperor Akbar’s favorite minister but also a minister dearly loved by most of the commoners, because of his ready wit and wisdom. People used to come to him from far and wide for advice on personal matters too. However, there was a group of ministers that were jealous of his growing popularity and disliked him intensely.

They outwardly showered him with praise and compliments, but on the inside, they began to hatch a plot to kill him.

One day they approached the king’s barber with a plan. As the barber was extremely close to the king, they asked him to help them get rid of Birbal permanently. And of course, they promised him a huge sum of money in return. The wicked barber readily agreed. The next time the king required his services, the barber started a conversation about the emperor’s father who he also used to serve. He sang praises of his fine, silky-smooth hair. And then as an afterthought, he asked the king that as he was enjoying such great prosperity, had he made an attempt to do anything for the welfare of his ancestors?

The king was furious at such impertinent stupidity and told the barber that it was not possible to do anything because they were already dead. The barber mentioned that he knew of a magician who could come of help. The magician could send a person up to heaven to enquire about his father’s welfare. But of course this person would have to be chosen carefully; he would have to be intelligent enough to follow the magician’s instructions as well as make on-the-spot decisions. He must be wise, intelligent and responsible.

The barber then suggested the best person for the job – the wisest of all ministers, Birbal.

The king was very excited about hearing from his dead father and asked the barber to go ahead and make the arrangements immediately. He asked him what was needed to be done. The barber explained that they would take Birbal in a

procession to the burial grounds and light a pyre. The magician would then chant some ‘mantras’ as Birbal would ascend to the heavens through the smoke. The chanting would help protect Birbal from the fire.

The king happily informed Birbal of this plan. Birbal said that he thought it a brilliant idea and wanted to know the brain behind it. When learning that it was the barber’s idea, he agreed to go to heaven on condition that he be given a large sum of money for the long journey as well as one month’s time to settle his family so that they had no trouble while he was gone. The king agreed to both conditions. In the duration of this month, he got a few trustworthy men to build a tunnel from the funeral grounds to his house. And on the day of the ascension, after the pyre had been lit, Birbal escaped through the concealed door of the tunnel. He disappeared into his house where he hid for a few months while his hair and beard grew long and unruly.

In the meantime, his enemies were rejoicing as they thought that they had seen the last of Birbal. Then one day after many, many months Birbal arrived at the palace with news of the king’s father. The king was extremely pleased to see him and ready with a barrage of questions. Birbal told the king that his father was in the best of spirits and had been provided with all the comforts except one.

The king wanted to know what was lacking because now he thought he had found a way to send things and people to heaven. Birbal answered that there were no barbers in heaven, which is why even he was forced to grow his own beard. He said that his father had asked for a good barber. So the king decided to send his own barber to serve his father in heaven. He called both the barber and the magician to prepare to send him to heaven. The barber could say absolutely nothing in his own defense as he was caught in his own trap. And once the pyre was lit he died on the spot. Nobody dared to conspire against Birbal again.

RECIPE OF THE MONTH Badam Puri

2 cups of sugar 1 cup ghee 1 teaspoon cardamom powder

For garnishing:

Method:

1 tablespoon cashew nuts

Heat little ghee in a pan, fry nuts

Mix sugar and water make a syrup, add cardamom powder and keep it aside.

Add ghee to the all-purpose flour and powdered saffron.

Mix well by adding water little by little to make a soft dough.

Take a lemon sized dough and roll it into round shape fold into half, fold into half again to triangular shape.

Deep fry these triangular folded pieces in oil.

There is a mandatory (but fun!) assembly each Sunday. This enables students from various classes to come together and participate in various team building activities.

Parents also enjoy team building activities like games and even hikes to unexplored areas of RMD, as well as free adult yoga class at 10am.

Additionally, as part of in-class celebrations, the Marathi class students and parents came together to create a clay /brick fort (killa) reminiscent of King Shivaji’s forts, complete with hand made flags and action figures.

November and December are busy months too. Students and parents greatly enjoyed the annual Sports Day (sponsored by T3 Software Resources) held on November 12th.

This brought back memories for parents because it is one of the many ways Diwali is celebrated in Maharashtra.

Allu Sirish’s Okka Kshanam Is A Science Fiction Film Based On Real Incident

Director Vi Anand is now poised for a hattrick with his upcoming film Okka Kshanam, a sci-fi thrill-

Anand shares, “It was a conscious attempt. We wanted to reveal the plot in the teaser so that the audience can keep guessing about it.

We don’t want them to come to the theatre with high expectations and thinking about something that is not present in the film.

As for the video, when we toss the matchsticks, some of them will fall parallel to each other. Likewise, among millions of people living on this planet, the incidents or the thoughts in the life of any two people can be similar. Remakes To Look Forward To In The Coming Months

After Abhay Chopra’s ‘Ittefaq’ starring Sidharth Malhotra and Sonakshi Sinha, yet another dark thriller is all set to be remade. Reports have been rife about remaking Satyen Bose’s ‘Raat Aur Din’ starring Nargis Dutt.

From among the names doing rounds to play the lead, Madhuri Dixit-Nene and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan were under consideration.
