Our events will be packed with various giveaways, so log in and have a chance to win amazing prizes!

All our ASI meetings will be virtual and easily accessible through Zoom. You can find more information on our upcoming meetings and events on our ASI website. A ending ASI meetings is an amazing opportunity to learn more about our advocacy and policy decisions that significantly impact the Cal State LA student body.

As we repopulate campus, many other university services will reopen slowly but surely. Soon, we will start walking the hallways and the main walkway on campus. The ASI office has missed you all, and we are excited to be on this journey with you.

In ASI, we value transparency and we make sure we do our best to ensure the information we gain goes back to the students. Check out our newsle er and stay informed. We are here to serve you! ”

LEAD • ADVOCATE • ENGAGE

ASI student leaders are empowered to advocate on behalf of students while participating in the University shared governance process. They work to improve the culture and education at Cal State LA and across the CSU.

ASI is a non-profit student-run auxiliary governed by a Board of Directors elected by the student body at Cal State LA. Assisting in the protection of student rights and interests, ASI provides the means for effective input into the governance of the campus and is the official avenue through which student opinion is expressed. ASI offers students experience in responsible political participation, as they advocate for the protection of higher education at the State and Federal levels. With professional staff support, the Board sets strategic goals and policy priorities, while members represent student interests on ASI and University-wide committees.

• The rights and interests of students.

• Opportunities for student participation in campus governance.

• Educational, social, physical, and cultural wellbeing of the university community.

• An opportunity for students to gain experience and training in responsible civic participation and community leadership.

LEAD

ASI demonstrates impactful leadership driven by collective thoughts and action.

ADVOCATE

ASI prepares students to effectively advocate on behalf of the Cal State LA community.

ENGAGE

ASI is dedicated to community engagement, student support, and services.

• Join in informative and dynamic business meetings about issues affecting the university community.

• Influence and help make important decisions on campus.

• Find out how your student fees are being allocated to support clubs and organizations.

• Network with student leaders advocating daily to enhance student life

Looking to offset the high cost of textbooks? The ASI Textbook Scholarship Program was created to help you! Your student government allocated $6,000 per semester to help Cal State LA students achieve their academic goals and is one of the best examples of how your student dollars work for you. Scholarships are awarded on a first-come-first-serve basis, up to $150 per student. Purchase your books at the University Bookstore and you will receive a $25 Barnes and Nobel gi card to use on spirit-wear or other supplies you need!

Students can rent one of our lockers at two convenient locations: (1) University-Student Union Basement and (2) Library North. Our lockers are safe, reasonably priced and are available for you to rent when you stop by the ASI Administration Office. Make your life easier by dropping some of that excess weight. Spaces are limited and based on a first come, first serve basis.
