ASI PRESIDENT JAIME ARELLANO
Hello and welcome Golden Eagles!
My name is Jaime Arellano, your ASI President for Cal State LA's Student Government. I want to extend a warm welcome to all our new, returning, and international students to our Golden Eagle Family.
This year marks the beginning of something truly incredible, the 75th anniversary of Cal State LA. It is a celebration of what we have accomplished over the past 75 years but is also the beginning of the future and what we can accomplish together in the years to come.
The Pandemic has brought many changes to our lives. As we transition back to campus, Associated Students, Inc (ASI) joins the university administration, faculty, and sta in making it our mission to give back to our students as much as possible and provide proper resources for our well-being and academic success.
This year ASI will begin planning for a comprehensive 5-year strategic plan. The plan will revolve around our campus's strengths, weaknesses, threats, and opportunities. We will engage students throughout the process to inform the development of ASI's goals to meet the current and future needs of the student body at Cal State LA.
Our many goals this year include enhancing student life, ensuring student safety, and strengthening our school's pride through culture, traditions, and community. Golden Eagles, we are here for you with free scantrons and blue books, textbook scholarships, discounted tickets, and hosting a series of informative and engaging events for all students!
At ASI, our Academic senators, in unity with our Environmental Policy Commi ee, are researching opportunities for solar initiatives to make our campus more sustainable.
I will work with our VP of External A airs at the California State Student Association (CSSA), representing and advocating for 477,000 students throughout the CSU.
Finally, your Associated Students, Inc. will ensure that student voices are heard, that students are being protected, and that students are represented.
Thank you, and welcome back!
