P I Lesson Plan (2013-2014)

Semester. 1 Module No.: 01

Guidelines

 TWOsDAY TUESDAY – Every Tuesday shall be TWOsDAY; therefore, activities given in the Lesson Plan falling due on Tuesdays shall be conducted in pairs. Children shall perform ALL Activities in Academics in pairs on TUESDAYs.  Friday – Enrichment Day - Parents are expected to enrich/enhance the learning in School from Monday to Friday – every week, through various activities at home and prepare and send the child to School on Friday for the enrichment activity.

 In the time table given, if there are two periods allotted for the same subject the teacher could utilize that period to complete the exercises or activities of that subject.  G.K could be taught when there are two periods of EVS in the time table.

WEEK: 1

DAY: 1

Note: Teachers to make use of activity book Sem I and Sem II of UKG to recap previous concepts. Welcome the children and take them in a line to the respective class. Introduce yourself to the children and wish them “Good Morning”. Train them from day 1 to arrange their bags in the shelf. Check whether each child’s bag has a name tag. If not provide one for the child. Snack bags and the school bags to be arranged in two different corners. Start the day with the prayer they already know “Humko manki”. Spend at least 15 – 20 min in general conversation (asking each child’s name etc.) Ask the children about their vacation and the places visited. Give each child a chance to express himself/herself. Have all the children stand in a circle and make them sing some rhyme. New children to be given a chance to sing rhymes. Recap Numbers, Alphabet with phonics & reading the sight words (at, et, ot, it, ut etc). During the snack break, have the children sit in a circle with their bags and train them to eat without spilling on the floor. This should be practiced from day 1. They should go to the washroom and wash their hands before the snack break. After the snack they should keep their bags in their places. Every day the teacher must supervise the children during the snack break. They should not be allowed to bring junk food to school. While going home children should go in a line without pushing each other. It is better that girls form a separate line and the boys also. Teacher should be very careful to check, if a child is sick or unwell. It should be brought to the notice of Administrator immediately. Copyright © A SCHOOL 2013

Recap of numbers and sight words could be done orally. After snack time they could be given free hand drawing or colouring. During lunch time children should be helped to sit in a circle and spread the napkins on the floor. They should be helped to use their spoons to have the lunch. No child should be allowed to eat using the hand. Teacher should check the lunch boxes to ensure they bring vegetables/fruits every day. This should become a habit. Page no: 9 & 10 from the text book (Tulips) class work to be given. Recap of Alphabet song. Before starting the lesson, teacher should narrate the story “The Fox and the Grapes”. After narrating the story, word list 1 to be written on the board. Refer activity book pg 1. The teacher should read the words aloud with correct pronunciation and have the children repeat after her. The same words to be learnt as home work (Activity book should go home).
