Vanessa Wenwieser, There is always a light - “There is always a light” serves as a poignant symbol of the arduous journey many women endure to accomplish their desires and embrace their true selves. Often deemed essential, this pursuit of independence and resilience is depicted through an evocative imagery of a resolute female figure, growing stronger with each passing day despite the wounds she carries. In her quest, she diligently plants the seeds of love, nurturing them as they blossom into a vibrant display that spreads the message of peace and joy throughout the world. In her unwavering determination, she willingly confronts pain and adversity, for it is only in darkness that one discovers the illuminating power of light. My aspiration is to inspire others, reminding them that hope prevails even in the bleakest of circumstances. Discover More - www.vanessawenwieser.com / Instagram: @kunstfabrikstudio

Catarina Diaz, Coral - Coral delves into the realms of identity, upbringing, and the deep-rooted connection we have with our past. Having been born in Africa, my early years were filled with vibrant and vivid memories that continue to shape me as an artist. I am fascinated by the way our identities are influenced by our origins, the people we share memories with, and our connection to our past, ultimately molding the individuals we become. This artwork beautifully encapsulates these traces, both seen and unseen. In this piece, the feminine figure seamlessly blends into a lush landscape, surrounded by symbols of life and fertility. She is intertwined with her history while simultaneously gazing towards the future, acting as a bridge between the two realms. Discover More - www.catarinadiaz.com / Instagram: @catarina_diaz_

Agadzhanyan Narine, Beauty of Times - In these works, united by one series “Beauty of Times,” I wanted to display and show all the beauty, mystery, and originality of different peoples, where women’s traditional attire mainly appears. Different cultures, customs, traditions, and religion lie in a horizontal plane and are united by common features and charming beauty. However, there is also a vertical plane where time leaves its mark on the traditional women’s costume. From this combination of cultures and times, a three-dimensional picture of the whole world arises. In my work, I often use mixed media and layering. Combining several elements into one whole helps to give my work movement, volume of objects, and depth of the image. A modern style and the use of computer technology help to stay in the moment and feel the connection of all elements. All this together allows you to feel the amazing details of one whole and unity in a common spirit. Discover More - Instagram: @Nari_yan_art

Sue Trusler, 2024 - Since my earliest childhood memories, I have always celebrated the enchantment of the New Year with the mesmerizing display of fireworks. The brilliant explosion of light in the sky signifies the arrival of countless thrilling opportunities, beckoning us to embrace a fresh start and bid farewell to the old year. It is a moment that symbolizes a clean slate, an empty canvas, and a jubilant celebration that ignites both excitement and inspiration. My artistic journey commenced with a quaint narrowboat adorned with the vibrant hues of Mauritius and Squall Blue, forever embedding blue as a prominent color in my creations. Thus, to welcome the arrival of 2024, I deliberately chose fireworks against a captivating blue backdrop. The New Year, with its abundant magic, holds endless possibilities. JoJo huxford, TICK TOCK - The melting of clocks in my perception signifies the illusory nature of time as it gradually dissolves... just like us, day by day. Time possesses ultimate authority, yet it fades away with each passing moment, hence the melting clocks. In the realm of my imagination, clocks, the embodiment of time, are both the dominator and the hunted prey, as time itself melts away. We experience the relativity of time and space, while the melting clocks symbolize the inherent essence of dreams and the surreal: a lack of true order in the cosmic sense, yet clocks define every single moment of our existence. These “soft,” non-functioning. clocks are seen in one of Dalí’s most famous works, The. Persistence of Memory (1931). Discover More - www.nantucketphotos.photography / Instagram: @Jojohuxford2

Heli Fouchard, You Are Here II - My work “You Are Here II” (2023), invites us to contemplate the profound concept of intermediate space within the realm of time. The ocean represents the constant motion of temporal existence, while the dissolving circle eloquently signifies the intermediate space we inhabit. It’s the space where we find ourselves, perpetually transitioning between the past, present, and future. In its simplicity, “You Are Here II” reminds us of the significance of these in-between moments. It beckons us to pause and recognize the beauty in the spaces that connect the dots of our lives, demonstrating that, in the midst of life’s perpetual movement, we are indeed present, right here, right now. “You Are Here II” (2023) is part of the ongoing series “Pulse Of Time” (2021- ) Discover More - https://helifouchard.com / Instagram: @helifouchard

Rosemary Coan, New Year’s 2024 Wish Coat - The sparkling blizzard of confetti that fills the New York City Times Square during the New Year celebration is carefully thrown by a team of skilled confetti dispersal engineers, consisting of about 100 individuals stationed atop 8 Times Square buildings. Countless pieces of confetti descend upon the joyful crowd at midnight, each one carrying a wish for the future, a goal to achieve, or an experience to be had for the very first time. In my artwork, I portray these wishes for 2024 as symbols adorning a fashionable individual. This trendsetter’s aspirations include dreaming, loving, hoping, laughing, creating, inspiring, and living life to the fullest. She adorns herself with pearls of wisdom, dazzling gems, shining stars, and eagerly makes wishes upon falling snowflakes. Violet Headley, Ánimas - In Mexico, the Day of the Dead (La Día de los Muertos) and the Day of the Souls (La Festival de las Ánimas) are days of remembrance. These celebrations provide an opportunity for individuals to unite and honor their departed loved ones. Families meticulously construct intricate altars, adorning them with photographs, food, and vibrant orange marigolds or cempasúchil (flor de muerto). These altars serve as a heartfelt tribute to those who have passed on. The displayed items symbolize the material world, while the fragrance of the flowers serves as an invitation for the souls to return and visit for the day. The Latin origin of the word “animas” denotes a rational soul, life, or intelligence. Its root meaning is closely associated with breath. In psychology, this term represents the inner self that remains connected to the unconscious mind. The artist has ingeniously employed colors inspired by the captivating synthwave aesthetic, reminiscent of the vibrant graphics and effects from the magnificent eighties era. Through a captivating blend of hues, the artwork encapsulates the woman’s pain and exhaustion, as they fade into the abyss that lies beyond her countenance. The luminous neon shades serve as a nostalgic homage to an era marked by excessive consumerism and ostentatious materialism, while simultaneously shedding light on the unknown individual’s misery. Ethan, the gifted artist, often delves into profound themes of cynical nihilism, depression, dehumanization, and the commodification of human existence. His artistic approach gracefully intertwines striking colors and sentimental echoes of the synthwave and vaporware genres. Erick Mota, The Game Of Life + Alicia - While everyone can discover God’s truth and choose to embrace it, the battle between God and The Devil is like a thrilling game of chess, where we are the pieces. The clash between good and evil, light and darkness, and virtue and malevolence begins with a clash of principles. God, a metaphysical being, will ultimately win the “Game of Life” against the mastermind of all wrongdoing. Titled “Alicia,” this oil painting captures a memorable moment from Alicia Keys’ Grammy Awards performance in 2019. It showcases her musical talent and stage presence, reflecting her artistry. Erick Mota, Digress - This artwork depicts the contrast between our expectations for life and the reality that unfolds. While studying Freudian dream interpretations during my undergraduate years, I developed a fascination with the symbolic significance of owls. According to cultural and spiritual theories, owls represent change, intuition, knowledge, and wisdom. In the realm of dreams, they symbolize our subconscious intuition and a profound comprehension of life. Furthermore, owls are also associated with learning, protection, luck, hope, and transition. Amidst a transformative phase in my life, as I transitioned careers and pursued my psychology PhD, everything still felt tumultuous and uncertain. I turned to painting to express my emotions. I wanted to show both chaos and control. Owls represent intuition, so this painting is about trusting my intuition while navigating the chaos of life. Erick Mota, Walk Through Fire With You - In a profound bond, two individuals within a relationship, be it lovers, siblings, or friends, stand poised to conquer the world hand in hand. United, they shall navigate through any adversity, for the metaphorical act of “walking through fire” symbolizes their courage to confront danger and endure pain. This painting of the couple embodies unwavering commitment and a steadfast determination to forge a shared existence. Standing upon the precipice of steps or a bridge, a noteworthy detail emerges: there is no solid ground or support for their next step. Erick Mota, Water The Flowers In My Soul - One could argue that water is the most precious essence of life, infusing freshness into a weary world as it cleanses the ground, revitalizes delicate plants, and rejuvenates our bodies from within. It is indispensable for the survival of all living beings, particularly us humans. However, there is also the soul – just as crucial and fluid as water – guiding us through life’s trials in a way that our mere human form cannot. This sensuous work of art celebrates the liberation of the soul, its growth and evolution into a force greater than love, greater than religion, greater than life itself.
