Tempe’s hometown brewery, Huss Brewing Co., is now the official craft beer partner of Arizona State University’s (ASU) Sun Devil Athletics. To celebrate, the locally- and family-owned brand unveiled a Huss-branded, air conditioned space inside ASU’s Mountain America Stadium called Huss Hideout, where fans can choose from a lineup of Huss’s locally brewed favorites and seasonal selections, as well as a selection from other brands.

It also debuted Devil’s Halo Lager, the new official craft beer of Sun Devil Athletics. The classic German-style lager that’s crisp, smooth, and refreshingly balanced will be poured at all Sun Devil Athletics events and select bars, restaurants, and retail locations across the Valley. Proceeds from it benefit the Sun Angel Collective and its efforts to support ASU student-athletes.

CHEF NEWS

Internationally celebrated chef Alex Stratta—yes, the same chef who earned two Michelin stars at his namesake restaurant, Alex, at Wynn Las Vegas; a James Beard Award; and more—is now calling North Scottsdale’s Belmont Kitchen & Cocktails home. He joined the locale as executive chef, bringing his refined style of technique and bold global flavors to the modern, ingredient-driven concept.

Phoenix’s arts and culture scene is anything but still—it’s a constantly evolving canvas of expression, innovation, and community. From art shows to films and concerts to events, here’s where to find the fun.

TALIESIN WEST

Taliesin West is architect Frank Lloyd Wright’s (1867-1959) winter home and desert laboratory, and a historic location inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Not to miss in Sept./Oct.: Sunsets & Sips: Enjoy the evening with a beverage in hand while exploring the serene outdoor pathways and select interior spaces (held monthly; this month’s date is Oct. 23).

Taliesin West Film Series: View classic cinema in a timeless setting with showings of old Hollywood favorites in the historic Cabaret Theater, originally used by Wright for performances, film screenings, and artistic gatherings (event dates vary; see website for details).

BONNER DAVID GALLERIES

Bonner David Galleries brings together over 50 of the best traditional and non-representational artists from around the globe, showcasing the owners’ appreciation for various traditions in art history. Bonner David embraces the continuum of art within its New York and Scottsdale locations.

PHOENIX ART MUSEUM

Phoenix Art Museum is the largest art museum in Arizona and the U.S. Southwest, with an expansive collection of more than 21,000 objects of American, Western American, Latin American, European, Asian, contemporary, and modern art and fashion. The museum also presents vibrant photography exhibitions through its landmark partnership with the Center for Creative Photography at the University of Arizona in Tucson.

Not to miss in Sept./Oct.: Florentine Baroque: The Haukohl Collection: Discover luminous and historically significant paintings and sculpture from the largest collection of works from 17th and 18th century Florence outside of Italy, on view through July 26, 2026. Radical Clay: Contemporary Women Artists from Japan: Opens Sept. 24 and features 40 avant-garde works from one of the leading collections of Japanese contemporary ceramics outside of Japan, illuminating how women artists from the island nation have innovated to expand the possibility of the traditionally “masculine” medium.

ARIZONA MUSICFEST

Arizona Musicfest is North Scottsdale's premiere concert destination. For 35 years, Musicfest has presented legendary artists, dynamic programs for young musicians, music engagement, and learning opportunities.

Not to miss in Sept./Oct.: Rachael & Vilray on Oct. 27 at 7:30 p.m. This popular jazz duo weaves enchanting spells with timeless songs of passion and whimsy, with a wink of modern wit.

Not to miss in Sept./Oct.: The Goonies 40th Anniversary with Sean Astin: On Sept. 13 at 7 p.m., join Sean Astin, star of The Goonies, for the film’s 40th anniversary screening, followed by a live Q&A where he shares behind-the-scenes stories and personal experiences. Sept. 25 at 8 p.m., experience a rare live concert treat at the Orpheum with three-time Latin Grammy Award winners Molotov at MOLOTOV – 30 ANNIVERSARY TXXXR. ODYSEA AQUARIUM

OdySea Aquarium, the Southwest’s largest, is a must-see at Arizona Boardwalk. It is home to 7,000 animals and over 370 species— including sharks, sea lions, otters, rays, and penguins. The locale blends exploration, education, and up-close encounters with the ocean’s most fascinating creatures.
