SATURDAY 24 MAY
OFFICIAL PROGRAMME
Welcome to Day Two of the 2025 May Festival. Following a fantastic day yesterday, we’re thrilled to round off this two-day event with yet another afternoon of top-tier racing.
Today’s racecard boasts seven races across the afternoon, including two Listed races. The first race of the day is the highly valuable £100,000 BetGoodwin Harroways Handicap Stakes, where three-year-olds race over seven furlongs.
Our first Listed race of the day is The British Stallion Studs EBF Cocked Hat Stakes at 2:05pm. Run over one mile and three furlongs, this race is an exceptional opportunity for young talent to progress through the levels.
The second Listed race of the day is The BetGoodwin Height of Fashion Stakes at 3:15pm. This race is yet another esteemed stepping-stone for promising three-year-olds, as they race just over a mile and a quarter.
We extend our sincere thanks to all our partners – especially BetGoodwin, the British EBF, Mr James Reid and Darley – for their generous support of today’s racing.
Join us again in under two weeks time for Three Friday Nights –where racing meets music for an unforgettable summer evening fixture.
We do hope you enjoy Day Two of the May Festival, and on behalf of everyone at Goodwood, thank you for joining us.

course characteristics
Goodwood’s pronounced gradients and sharp bends favour the active, handy type of horse, the fluent mover rather than the big, long-striding runner, and this applies especially in short races and when the going is fast.
