WELCOME
A warm welcome to everyone to Royal Windsor Racecourse for tonight’s Racing League fixture. This is an initiative that may not be familiar to many, but Racing League was first launched in 2021 to bring a team aspect to horse racing and hopefully attract a new audience in the process. There are 7 teams taking part, divided into regions across the UK and the competition takes place over six weeks on successive Thursdays at the following ARC racecourses incorporating Great Yarmouth, Wolverhampton, Chepstow, Royal Windsor, Newcastle and then concluding at Southwell on August 28th.
Each team can enter two horses per race, which will run in the colours of their team and 100 points are up for grabs each race ranging from 25 points for winning the race down to 1 point for finishing 10th. Across the six weeks there is some £2m prize money up for grabs across the 42 races and the winning team will collect a winner-takes-all £50,000 with the jockeys of the winning team sharing an additional £35,000. The leading jockey from the Racing League series will also collect £20,000 so there is plenty on offer to keep everyone fully focused!
Monday night saw the final of the Fitzdares Sprint Series take place with a prize purse of £75,000 after 10 rounds of races over the summer and Chief Mankato from Jack Channon’s stable emerged from a strong field to collect the first prize of £30,000 with Ed Greatrex onboard. This was after Tom Marquand had picked up three winners from the first three races of the night to narrow the gap for the Royal Windsor jockey championship to seven winners behind the seemingly previously uncatchable Oisin Murphy.
There is plenty of entertainment on offer today for families to enjoy with face painters, glitter tattooist, stilt walkers, magic show, bouncy castle, soft play area and arty craft area as well as numerous local artists performing so hopefully it will create a really fun atmosphere for everyone this evening.
Thank you for coming along to Royal Windsor tonight and I hope you have a wonderful evening.

By no means out of the reckoning but at least one or two hold stronger claims
Unlikely to win but not totally without hope
Can be given little or no chance.
ABBREVIATIONS
BF - Beaten Favourite
C - Course winner
D - Distance winner
CD - Course & Distance winner
OFFICIAL BHA RATINGS EXPLAINED
The BHA Handicappers allot ratings to horses once they have taken part in a sufficient number of races to enable the Handicappers to make a numerical assessment of each horse’s ability.
The principal purpose of the ratings is to determine the weight to be carried by each runner in handicap races, with the Handicappers aiming to provide each participant with an equal chance based on its best recent form under its optimum conditions. A horse rated 100, for example, would be set to carry 1lb more than a horse rated 99 (ignoring any penalties or allowances).
The ratings published in the racecard for handicap races are the ratings that were used to calculate the weight to be carried by each horse, whilst in non-handicaps races the rating shown is that of each runner at the time that the entries for the race were confirmed Any subsequently published change to a rating, either up or down, is shown in brackets following the rating

The Racing League Joker Card
The Joker doubles the points won by the two horses representing the team in a given race. When played, the team receives double points in that given race, but it is not applied to individual jockey points.
Each manager will have the opportunity to play two Jokers during the 2024 competition. One Joker must be played at the team’s designated ‘home fixture’, the other Joker can be played in any of the other 42 races, where at least 12 horses are running (or 11 horses running at Wolverhampton).
The team manager will announce their intention to play a Joker in the Paddock, directly before the selected race This is done by placing a Joker card alongside the team name on the scoreboard in the Paddock.

LEADING COURSE TRAINER (20-25): M Bell (13 wins from 92 runners, 14%) runs PAROLE D’ORO TRAINER-IN-FORM (LAST 14 DAYS): T Easterby (12 wins from 83 runners, 14%) runs FINANCER
WEIGHTWATCHER: MOSTAWAA won off a handicap mark of 80, his rating is now down 5lb to 75. LONGEST TRAVELLER: FINANCER trained by T Easterby, Malton, 220 miles.
The vote goes to progressive 4-y-o MR SWIVELL, who was strong at the finish when making it 3-5 for this yard at Wolverhampton, leaving the impression that he is worth another crack at this trip He appears to be pretty versatile tactics-wise and a 6lb rise for that recent success looks manageable Parole d’Oro is of strong interest on his second attempt at 1 1/4m and he is feared most ahead of Londoner and Andaleep, both of whom are taken to reverse recent Wolverhampton placings with Silent Age.
