La Società Agricola Vivai Buemi srl nasce nel 2007 a seguito dell’unione delle aziende vivaistiche familiari. Le origini però risalgono al 1975 quando, per iniziativa di Domenico Buemi, figura carismatica, proveniente da una famiglia di vivaisti siciliani, che ha fatto della passione per il vivaismo il suo motivo di vita, nascevano i Vivai Buemi. Oggi, i figli Natale e Santo rappresentano il cuore pulsante dell’attività e Gianluca si dedica alla gestione amministrativa della società, tutti con la passione che ha contraddistinto l’opera del genitore. L’azienda si estende su circa 10 ettari (di cui 2 coperti) tutti ubicati nello agro di Palagiano in provincia di Taranto. Il mercato di riferimento è quello nazionale ma sono in corso rapporti commerciali anche con l’est europeo. Le coltivazioni principali sono rappresentate dall’olivo (oltre 30 cultivar) e dalle specie frutticole (oltre 50 cultivar). Le produzioni di piante d’olivo sono interamente realizzate in vaso fuori terra mentre le specie frutticole sono allevate per una parte del ciclo in terra e quindi avviate all’accrescimento in vaso.
La Società Agricola Vivai Buemi srl was founded in 2007 thanks to the unification of nurseries family. The origins, however, date back to 1975 when, on the initiative of Domenico Buemi, charismatic figure, coming from a family of Sicilian nurserymen, who has made his passion for the nursery grounds for life, were born the Vivai Buemi. Today, the children Natale and Santo are at the heart of the business and Gianluca devoted to administrative management of the company, with all the passion that characterized the work of the parent. The company covers about 10 hectares (about 2 hectares covered) all located in the countryside of Palagiano province of Taranto. The target market is the national one are underway trade relations with Eastern Europe. The main crops are represented by the olive tree (over 30 varieties) and the fruit species (over 50 varieties). The production of olive plants are entirely made in pots above ground while the fruit species are grown for part of the cycle in the ground, then start to increasing pot.
