There are many ways to get involved with the 2025 Annual Charity Pro-Am event.
If playing tennis, pickleball, Sport Clay Shooting, or golf isn’t your strong suit, consider donating an item to our silent auction! The Auction and Gala will be held on Saturday, August 16 at our Midtown location starting at 7:00 p.m.
No donation is too small or too large! Past donated items have included jewelry, paintings, trips, memorabilia, and professional services such as rug cleaning or dog pampering. Any item of service can be made into money for our charities.
If you would like to donate to this year’s silent auction, please contact Jane Race, race.jane@icloud.com, for more information.
All members are welcome to attend the Gala & participate in the Silent Auction on Saturday, August 16. Members will be able to view the auction site and bid straight from their mobile device. More details on bidding instructions will be sent closer to the event date.

Dear Ansley Members,
A NOTE FROM DAVID BATTLE
TENNIS CHAIRMAN
Welcome to an exciting summer at Ansley Golf Club. 2025 Ansley Charity Pro Am
This year marks the 32nd annual “Make A Difference” Ansley Charity Pro-Am, taking place August 13–17. Thanks to the incredible support of our members, this event has grown into Georgia’s premier charity proam—earning national recognition, including the USPTA National Charity Event of the Year and the Charity Event of the Year from the Racquet Sports Professionals Association Southern Division. Since its start, the Pro-Am has raised over $2.7 million for local and regional charities—an incredible testament to the generosity of the Ansley community.
We invite all members to be part of this special week—whether as a player, patron, or guest. Even if you’re not competing, come cheer on the action and join us for Saturday night’s Gala and auction. There’s something for everyone—and every bit of support helps us give back in a big way. Even if you can’t make the Gala we do have a mobile silent auction that night where you can bid on items from your phone.
This year we support three worthy charities: The Boyce L. Ansley School is a tuition-free private school in downtown Atlanta serving children who are currently or have previously experienced homelessness. Now supporting 90 K–5 students, the school plans to expand by one grade each year to become a K–8 school by 2027. Fully donor-funded, Ansley provides a safe, nurturing environment with tailored academics and strong family support—aimed at breaking the cycle of generational poverty. With skilled faculty and a whole-child approach, the school empowers families to build lasting change and brighter futures. Operation Feed Atlanta, a dedicated, no red-tape resource to the Atlanta school community as a partner in the fight to overcome food insecurity. By collaborating directly with school counselors, administrators and community leaders, the goal is to never have a request for food turned down. They have a school snack bag program, holiday meals programs and a championed food pantry initiative. It is 100% volunteer run with the Board of Directors’ commitment to reach the results needed for the health of the community.
Southeastern Brain Tumor Foundation For over 20 years, SBTF has supported critical, innovative research and education programs throughout the Southeast to battle brain tumors.
This year’s Pro-Am is bigger and better—with a Western twist! So, dust off your boots and cowboy hats, and get ready to party like true cowboys and cowgirls. Competitions start on August 13th with the Ladies’ Golf Pro-am. The Kick-off Party will be on August 14, that will include the Pro-Am Pickleball Tournament at the Ansley courts and include great food, refreshing drinks. As a bonus this year, we see if you have what it takes to ride the mechanical bull! The excitement continues over the next 5 days with men’s and ladies’ Pro-Am tennis and 18-hole golf pro-am tournaments, plus a Friday night swim party with live music. We’re also bringing back the clay shooting competition at Blaylock Lakes, thanks to Jim Womack and Gil May. Saturday night wraps up the fundraising efforts with a Western-themed Gala featuring a live band, open bars, a silent auction, and unforgettable outfits to match the theme. The tennis pro-am finals and Champions Celebration will be on Sunday morning to conclude the competitions for this year’s events.
A big thank you to our Pro-Am chairs, Gina Rude, Hallie Olsen, and committee chairs Stacy Graves and Jane Race for their incredible dedication and hard work. They’ve partnered closely with Matt, who spends a lot of
time and does an incredible job to bring every aspect of this event together and maintain strong communication with the foundations we’re supporting. This event simply wouldn’t be possible without their commitment.
2025 Tennis News Update
The Ansley tennis program is busier than ever, and member participation is up across the board. The ladies’ programs are continuing to grow, and programming has expanded to handle the requested clinics and drill sessions. Our men’s in-house league is growing and involves all levels of doubles play. Currently we have 2-3 mixed teams and 5-6 junior league teams (depending on the season) in addition to the junior in-house play in the spring and fall. The talented pros at Ansley have all members reaching new skill levels and enjoying the comradery and friendship of their Ansley teammates. On the maintenance side, our courts have been resurfaced and are maintained to the highest standards.
Our pickleball program continues to grow alongside tennis, bringing energy and excitement to the courts. With the addition of Michael Delany—our talented pickleball pro and champion—the program has attracted new members and expanded offerings. We feature ladies league play, mixed doubles, ALTA pickleball, and a variety of social matches for men, women, and mixed groups throughout the week. For those looking to improve their game, we offer lessons for all skill levels to help you compete with confidence. Corporate pickleball outings are also gaining popularity, and our annual Men’s, Ladies and Mixed Pickleball Championships are a highlight of the season. If you haven’t tried pickleball yet, now’s the time—it’s easy to learn and a whole lot of fun!
The goal of the tennis program is to make sure every member that participates has a great experience each time they come out to play. We can only achieve this level of success with the strong efforts of the Pros and staff! I want to recognize the tennis staff and ask you to please let them know your appreciation for their continued efforts to elevate the member experience.

A Pro-Am Experience to Remember Make A Difference Pro-Am Charity
We’re still feeling the excitement from our past year’s Make A Difference Pro-Am Charity Event, where generosity and gourmet came together for an unforgettable night — all in support of our mission to uplift the community.
Event
One of the standout moments of the evening? The Pro-Am Silent Auction Experience, where winning guests got the rare opportunity to team up with our Executive Chef, Trae Shriner, and help bring a full-course culinary vision to life.
Here’s what recent Pro-Am guests, The Bowmans, had to say about their experience:
“Table One was PHENOMENAL! The entire team did a great job from start to finish! We were excited to learn that we were Chef Trae’s first Table One and we look forward to doing more!!! The food was so tasty! Irena and Rupert were attentive to our needs from the welcome cocktail until the last of our dessert! They even gave us extra warm cookies! It was truly a delight, and we will be doing again!”
— The Bowmans
From warm hospitality to extraordinary food, the Pro-Am Silent Auction offered a behind-the-scenes, hands-on experience unlike any other — and it made a real difference.
Thank you to everyone who bid, dined, donated, and participated. Your support helps us continue to fuel impact through creativity and community.
LET’S KEEP THE MOMENTUM GOING!
We’re gearing up for the 32nd Anniversary of the Make A Difference Pro-Am Charity Event, happening August 13–17, and we’d love your help in making it the most impactful year yet.
We’re currently curating exciting auction items, experiences, and one-of-a-kind offerings for the 2025 Ansley Charity Pro-Am — and this is where you come in. If you have something to donate or a connection to a business or service that aligns with our mission, we’d be thrilled to hear from you.
To get involved, please reach out to Matt Grayson at mgrayson@ansleygc.org.
Together, we can make this year’s event more meaningful — and more memorable — than ever before.

Team Spotlight: Meet Jenna, Our newest Assistant Golf Professional
Jenna joins Ansley Golf Club from the Glacier Club in Durango, Colorado, where she spent the last five years as the First Assistant Golf Professional, growing her career and expanding her expertise in instruction and player development.
Before her time in Colorado, Jenna began her teaching journey in the prestigious Sawgrass community of Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, where she laid the groundwork for what has become a true passion for golf instruction.
Recently married in October, Jenna and her husband, Clint, made the move back to the Southeast to be closer to family. They’re now happily settling into life in Atlanta — trading mountain views for skyline sunsets and embracing their new community here at Ansley.
When she’s not on the course, Jenna loves spending time outdoors with her two dogs, diving into a great book, or experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen.
A Few Fun Facts About Jenna:
She picked up golf in 8th grade and hasn’t looked back since. She recorded a hole-in-one on a Par 4 (Albatross!) during a college tournament at Talking Rock Golf Club in Prescott, AZ. She collects unique ball markers — her favorite is shaped like a dolphin!

Diving Deep with Ms. Betty Helping Others
Hearing the important reports from Bobbie Bell, Director of Wellness and Aquatics, and Matt Grayson, Director of Racquet Sports and Athletics, and Calvin Bolling, General Manager impressed me as a member of the Ansley’s Athletic committee. These leaders plan and provide many events for all Ansley members!
In August, the 32nd Anniversary of Ansley’s Charity Pro- Am event allows each member to participate even if you do not play tennis or golf by donating items or money. I have been impressed with the selected charities for 2025!
The Boyce L. Ansley School named after a woman who observed a homeless Mother with her children needing a school for her children. The school only one of this kind in the southeast allows, a tuition free private school for children experiencing or who have experienced homelessness.
Operation Feed Atlanta, a nonprofit who feeds Atlanta Public School systems families’ partners with other nonprofits and food distribution groups so this charity can provide the largest positive impact! Seventy-eight percent of Atlanta Public School students rely on breakfast and lunch was inspired by parents and teachers who came together in 2020.
The Southeastern Brain Tumor Foundation honors Ansley’s members and families with critical, cutting-edge research and educational programs throughout the southeast dealing with understanding brain tumors. This is the 20th year of supporting and honoring these members.
Please give to this year’s selected charities with your monetary contribution or items to be auctioned. Contact Jane Race for auction items and donation is tax deductible as the Georgia Tennis Foundation is 501C3.

Athlete Spotlight: Once a Shark, Always a Shark
We’ve got to brag on our Sharks — past and present — for showing us what true team spirit looks like!
Jeanine and Genae Horst, former Sharks and current legends in the record books, got wind that two current swimmers — Lucile Haddow and Riley McGinnity — were inching close to breaking records the Horst sisters set back in 2015 (Genae’s in butterfly and Jeanine’s in freestyle).
Rather than watching from afar, they did something amazing — they showed up at the meet, introduced themselves to the girls, and cheered them on from the deck!
The records didn’t fall this time, but what mattered most was the powerful show of encouragement from our alumni.
It’s moments like these that remind us: Being a Shark is more than competition — it’s a community.
Huge shoutout to Jeanine, Genae, Lucile, and Riley for representing the very best of what the Sharks stand for.
GO SHARKS!
