WALT DAVIS HOUSE & ATHLETICS

Dear Members,

A NOTE FROM CHRIS MAREK & WALT DAVIS HOUSE CO-CHAIRS
As we move into spring, we want to share an update on the progress and priorities of the House Committee. This year is a pivotal one for the club, with two major projects set to redefine the member experience: the renovation of 1912 Lounge & Grill and the reimagining of Settindown. 1912 Lounge & Grill – A Fresh Approach to Social and Dining
The renovation of 1912 Lounge & Grill is nearing completion, and we’re excited to welcome you back at the end of April. Our goal has been to create a social and dining experience that feels both elevated and approachable — a place where you can enjoy a casual lunch, a celebratory dinner, or simply gather with friends over great cocktails or a meal.
We’ve reimagined everything — from the ambiance to the menu — to ensure 1912 offers something for everyone. Expect a thoughtfully crafted menu with a range of high-quality offerings, warm and attentive service, and an atmosphere that feels like the heartbeat of the club. Whether you’re stopping in after a round of golf, gathering with friends, or hosting a special occasion, we want 1912 to become your first choice for memorable social and dining experiences at the club.
Settindown – A Reimagining
Settindown has always been one of the premier golf experiences in the region, but we recognized the need went far beyond the course itself. This project has been about reimagining the entire Settindown experience — from the course to the clubhouse to the overall member experience.
While the course renovations have understandably drawn the most attention, we’ve also taken the opportunity to address critical clubhouse infrastructure improvements, including:
• Kitchen renovation to improve service and operational efficiency;
• New roofing and essential fire and mechanical upgrades to ensure the facility remains in good condition;
• Interior refreshes, including updated furniture, paint, and clubhouse aesthetics to elevate the member experience; and
• Parking lot repairs to maintain accessibility and overall appearance. Many of these updates will help us avoid more costly repairs in the future, and addressing them now allows us to focus on creating a club experience worthy of the course itself. We’re on track to reopen in September — with the clubhouse ready alongside it — and we’re excited about Settindown’s next chapter.
Looking Ahead – Our House Committee Priorities
This is a transformative year for the club, and our work doesn’t stop once 1912 and Settindown reopen. As a committee, we’ve set clear priorities for the year ahead to ensure that these major projects translate into long-term value for members:
1. Ensure a successful opening — and continued refinement — of 1912 Lounge & Grill and Settindown. Our goal isn’t simply to open the doors, but to actively listen to member feedback and finetune both experiences to exceed expectations.
2. Review our back-of-house technologies. We’re reviewing how technology can improve member convenience, operational efficiency, and cost savings.
3. Continue elevating member satisfaction and experience. The physical improvements to our facilities mean little without an equally impressive service experience. We’re challenging ourselves to enhance consistency, personalization, and overall service excellence.
4. Review our facility management and capital reserve strategies. Maintaining best-in-class facilities requires smart, long-term execution and financial planning. We are carefully reviewing our strategy to ensure we’re positioned to maintain and enhance our assets without placing undue financial pressure on membership.
5. Review communication and optics around Food and Beverage operations and financials. One of our top priorities is to better connect members to the inner workings of our Food and Beverage operations. This centers on operational decisions, financial strategies, and strategic planning — ensuring you feel informed, engaged, and confident in the club’s direction.
The Path Forward
This is a year of renewal and transformation for the club. With 1912 Lounge & Grill reopening in April and Settindown returning in September, we’re not just reopening spaces — we’re redefining the member experience across dining, golf, and social gatherings. The work we’ve done behind the scenes, from infrastructure improvements to service refinement, is all aimed at ensuring that every interaction feels like something special.
None of this progress would be possible without the dedication and leadership of our club management team. Their commitment to executing these ambitious projects — while continuing to deliver a high-level member experience — has been nothing short of extraordinary. We are incredibly fortunate to have a team that understands the importance of hospitality and the need for excellence, and I want to personally thank them for their tireless efforts.
We would also like to extend a sincere thank you to the members of the House Committee. Their input, time, and passion have been instrumental in shaping the vision for both 1912 and Settindown. Their work, often behind the scenes, ensures that every decision we make is rooted in the long-term success of the club.
Finally, we want to thank each of you — the members — for your patience, support, and excitement as we’ve worked through these major transitions. We believe the result will be a better, more dynamic Ansley Experience — and we can’t wait to share it with you.
We’ll see you soon at 1912 Lounge & Grill — and later this year for the grand reopening of Settindown.

Welcome New Members

Telli and Cole Downing share a love for adventure, the outdoors, and staying active. Telli, an Atlanta native and former Ansley Sharks swimmer, now enjoys a career working with animals. Cole grew up in Covington, Georgia, and moved to Atlanta after attending the University of Georgia. He works in tech with a passion for innovation and AI while also writing and producing music. Recently, they rekindled their love for golf and are excited to be part of the Ansley community. When not on the course, they enjoy hiking, biking, cooking, and spending time with their two energetic huskies.

Winn Pierson Boswell, her husband David and their boys Waylon (3) and Townes (6 months) are so excited to join the Ansley family! They are both natives to the Atlanta area and Winn grew up coming to Ansley with her dad, Joe. She is so excited that her boys will grow up with the same wonderful experiences. They love travelling and spending time outdoors as a family with their black lab, Gunny. Winn works in Finance as a Director of Operations for Arcus Capital Partners and David is a contractor for the Department of Defense. They have lived in Peachtree Hills for over 12 years and are excited to make Ansley Golf Club their second home.

Vinny Antinori and Sara Johnston grew up together as children and always had a special connection. Vinny, being an Ansley Shark, was always inviting Sara to come along. They both fell in love with the community and shared many memories at the club. They both hope to make new relationships as well as rekindle old ones.
Vinny always involved himself in sports. Being competitive has always driven him to be successful in other areas of his life. Much of this stemming from his young days as a Shark, always waiting to hear that all the hard work in the pool paid off. He proceeded to attend Emmanuel University where he spent four years as a collegiate baseball player. His love of baseball transpired into a career where he owns his own training facility. There, he trains baseball players that have a dream to play at the next level.
Sara loves spending quality time with family and friends, always accompanied by great music. She is driven, determined, and always up for a challenge. She thrives in the face of adversity and embraces every new experience as an opportunity to learn and grow. With a keen eye for detail, she excels in event planning, making sure every little aspect is perfectly organized.
Having moved around a lot during her childhood, these experiences helped shape the person she is today. Some of her fondest memories include endless summer days at Ansley, where she’d play sharks and minnows or cheer for Vinny at his swim meets. Ansley holds a special place in her heart—so much nostalgia, it feels like home. She’s forever grateful for the memories made there and looks forward to creating many more.

Schedule Lesson
I have had a lifelong passion for swimming. I have been teaching swim lessons year round for three years now, and I love helping kids understand the importance of water safety while learning skills they can use for a lifetime. I enjoy making lessons fun and engaging while ensuring they are productive and educational. Watching my students grow in confidence and ability in the water is incredibly rewarding. I thoroughly enjoy coaching swimmers of all ages and am thrilled to be part of such a wonderful program. Currently, I swim for Life University, where I continue to grow as an athlete. Previously, I had the opportunity to serve as the Head Coach for the Junior Sharks here at Ansley, a role that allowed me to nurture new swimmers and instill a love for swimming in young athletes. I cherished this experience and look forward to continuing to inspire and develop swimmers in my current endeavors.
Meet Coach Jules

Schedule Lesson
With eight years of competitive swimming experience and a background in education, I'm passionate about helping swimmers of all ages feel confident, comfortable, and capable in the water. Originally from Chicago, I swam competitively in high school, qualifying for and competing in the State Championships before continuing my swimming career at Wake Forest University, where I competed in regional invitationals.
With over 50 hours of specialized training, I'm certified in Water Safety Instruction (WSI), S.N.A.P. (Special Needs Aquatic Program) Instruction, and Foundations in Preventing Abuse in Youth Organizations and hold American Red Cross certifications in Adult, Child, and Infant First Aid, CPR, and AED. Since moving to Atlanta, I have coached at Aqua-Tots Swim Schools, The Swim School, and Northside Swim Academy, working with swimmers as young as four months up to adults.
My philosophy is simple: comfort builds confidence, and confidence builds skill. Whether a swimmer's goal is to float with ease or race with speed, I create an environment where they can grow at their own pace-becoming stronger, safer, and ready for whatever comes next.
