Live the life you deserve By Jennifer Coates
When you have spent the better part of your career practicing emergency medicine, there is little you haven’t seen. You are not only witness to the frailties and vulnerabilities of the human body, you are also exquisitely aware of its miraculous resiliencies and capacity to heal, recover and resume. For Drs. Michael Kelly and Christopher Zabbo, two Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine, their time in the emergency rooms of hospitals throughout Rhode Island and Massachusetts has exposed them to this understanding, and to almost everything that can go wrong with the body. Their time spent intervening on behalf of those suffering from injuries, medical conditions, and problems of all degrees of severity has taught them that the human body is more than the sum of its parts, it is a complicated, symbiotic, and intricate network of interconnected systems. When one of those systems is out of sync, the repercussions are felt throughout. In October of this year, these doctors, whose combined medical experience exceeds forty years, became partners in an expanded practice where they have been able to apply this deeper knowledge and to focus on wellness care instead of sick care. This is a much more preventative approach to medicine. These doctors are well-trained in the many cutting-edge treatments now available to help their patients live healthier and thus more fulfilling lives. Their brand-new, state-of-the-art clinic, called Anderson Longevity Clinic Rhode Island, is centrally located on Sockanosett Cross Road in Cranston. Dr. Kelly and Dr. Zabbo, aided by their dedicated staff with Dr. Emilissa Domingo and Jessica Lopes, have transformed this former medical office into a welcoming, immaculate, and homey setting ~ far from the impersonal confines 32 Shop In RI

Every effort was made to help patients who come to this innovative practice feel relaxed and ready to finally tackle the challenges they are facing in a meaningful and life-altering way. Helping their patients achieve a fulfilling, healthy life ~ embracing the notion of true longevity ~ is the goal of these two experienced physicians. As doctors of osteopathic medicine, their approach to wellness care is more holistic than traditional MD’s. By definition, osteopathic doctors are “fully licensed physicians who practice in all areas of medicine.” What sets them apart from their peers, and what makes them so well fit for the kind of work that they do at Anderson Longevity Clinic Rhode Island is that they emphasize a “wholebody approach to treatment and care.” They are trained to listen to and partner with their patients to help them achieve an overall zest for life that so many lose with age. Longevity and quality of life are the ultimate goals of this partnership and practice. Their stated mission statement is: “We are passionate about breeding a healthy workplace that thrives because of our positive forwardmoving actions and commitment to communication. This commitment allows us to provide our patients with the best ‘longevity and wellness-focused’ healthcare in the industry. “ Patients of Drs. Kelly and Zabbo come from all walks of life and suffer from maladies that plague people of all ages and persuasions. Patients often come here after exhausting all other more traditional methods of treatment, usually with no satisfactory answers or plan of action. They experience a broad range of symptoms that include (but are not limited to) a general feeling of malaise, a
