1.8.3 Stage 3: Process of Analysis The buildings to be analysed were selected based on their similarities and context. Religious and commercial-residential buildings built between the early 18th century to the early 20th century were considered, due to availability of information. The analytical framework was based on the background data collected and theories related to architectural identity. Along with the buildings on the site, it looked at examples of buildings built by the communities in other states of India at that period, to test the central argument.
