Eso sin olvidarnos del gran trabajo de promoción deportiva que realiza la Federación Andaluza de Golf durante todo el año, especialmente entre los más pequeños. ■

ignore these numbers and that is why we are committed to policies that favour sporting activities, to maintain these figures and even improve them if possible, always working hand in hand with the Royal Andalucian Golf Federation, who do a magnificent job in spor ts promotion. One example is the “Golf for Everyone” programme, which aims to bring this spor t to the entire population, with special emphasis on people with disabilities. It is clear that the ministry of tourism and sport has made a decided commitment to the sponsorship of major tournaments to attract golf tourism to Andalucía. Are you satisfied with the results obtained by promoting the destination in this way? At the ministry we are ambitious - we don’t just rest on our laurels. That is why we are committed to hosting great spor ting events, because it gives us a greater visibility and because this way citizens are able to be closer to the spor t. We also promote the Andalucía brand at tournaments

We showcase our favourable conditions and attractions and the exceptional courses we have, and that also represents a plus. However, we are not only present at major events like the Andalucian Valderrama Masters; we have also been at other minor events, perhaps with less of a reputation, but equally important. Attracting new players is the great challenge facing golf today. What can public authorities do, in this case the Junta de Andalucía, in this respect? As noted previously: remain committed to tournaments that provide greater visibility, as well as continuing to promote the work that is done in public schools. And all that without overlooking the great spor ts promotion work under taken by the Royal Andalucian Golf Federation throughout the year, especially among the youngest golfers. ■
