RESISTING WHITE SUPREMACIST BOGANS While we see the white supremacists of the USA arming themselves, applauding the police killings of blacks, invading state and national legislatures, threatening prominent white politicians who resist them, here in relatively Covid-19 Free Australia we suffer more from moronic bogan supremacists than armed insurgents.

That we have wannabe fascist militias was indicated by the recent neo-nazi weekend camp in the Grampians, although we are told that ‘they broke no laws.’

The most common garden variety of white supremacist, and perhaps the most dangerous to social wellbeing, is the non-thinking bogan who can be egged into booing an indigenous footballer or into declaring a black player ‘mentally disturbed’ if he rejects being described as a chimp or a slave.

The typical white supremacist bogan is one without much ‘backbone,’ who goes along with the flow of ignorance.

Such creatures are fully confident of their total righteousness, for they are widely applauded as ‘good blokes.’ They get plenty of laughs from neanderthal audiences when they make racist jokes or when they are on TV programs with racists who get laughs from racial vilification.

Such creatures have gone unchecked and unaccountable for many generations, but the world is changing.

No longer does the white man rule the world.

European imperialism and complacent puppet rulers have disappeared or are in the process

Prophet Muhammad (p.b.u.h.) said: “All mankind is from Adam (as) and Eve (as), an Arab has no superiority over a non-Arab nor a non-Arab has any superiority over an Arab; also a white has no superiority over black nor a black has any superiority over white except by piety and good action.” of disappearing, hence the growing despotism of many of them.

The home of post-war imperialism, the USA, is no longer pearly white and its KKK style white bogans are feeling threatened as their superior position in society goes into rapid decline.

Here in Australia we owe a debt of gratitude to Heritier Lumumba for his determined and unflinching stand against the systemic racism of the Collingwood Football Club.

He was not daunted by the slurs about his mental health or his appearance. He maintained his resistance to perceived injustice and his stand was most significant in forcing the club to undertake an investigation into the existence of systemic racism in the organisation.

Back in September 2017 fellow players in the club backed up his criticisms.

Leon Davis said Lumumba’s experiences showed people within the club “had to be willing to learn and not be in denial”.

“Davis says one of the most hurtful aspects of Lumumba’s experience was the belittling of Lumumba’s testimony and the lack of support from the AFL community, as well as Collingwood.”

His comment;“… that people shouldn’t be surprised when this happens… the AFL is a product of society;” shames the whole of our society. It cannot be accepted.

Fellow Collingwood player Andrew Krakouer supported him too. He had heard Lumumba being referred to as a “chimp” on “multiple occasions”.

The Black Lives Matter movement and the fact that Mr Lumumba lodged a supreme court claim against Collingwood and the AFL in October 2020 must have shaken them into action.

Heritier Lumumba wants an acknowledgment that he was subjected to racism and that he was punished and ostracised when he spoke up.

What he has done is force the Collingwood Club and presumably the AFL, to take this issue seriously.

The ‘good blokes’ who don’t think about what does not impinge upon them, who think it is funny to belittle black people, belong to the past to the Age of Dinosaurs.

He has made major inroads into the influence of non-thinking ‘good bloke’ bogans who assume white supremacy. Systemic racism has taken a major blow.

As Davis commented in 2017, “As a society we haven’t dealt with that and it’s been passed down from our ancestors, and our generations before us. It has all been swept under the carpet.”

The author is a prominent Australian Muslim scholar and activist.

LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT: HOW TO DISCOVER FUTURE LEADERS?

In many respects, this book has mirrored my journey, both as an individual and a researcher, to further findings. As a practising Muslim woman living in a modern secular society, I noticed the difficulties faced by some of our community members in navigating their way through actualising both their Muslim identity and Australian identity which represent their faith and their citizenship respectively while living as good Australian citizens and be an effective member in this society. This challenge takes on another dimension when one is also a researcher and a community advocate. There is no doubt that various aspects of my identity have played a significant role not only in my choice of the book topic but also in how my research is presented and conducted.

As time has passed, I have noticed that all these ideas that were published, only helped and reminded people at theoretical level. Of course, if these ideas are not transformed into concepts through teamwork no one can benefit from them. These ideas remain theories, and our challenges continue to be the same. So whoever is trying to

In 2015, I have conducted a study on the most important challenges facing our Muslim community in Australia and the way we can help finding solutions by relying on Ijtihad in Islam. This was the subject of my doctorate thesis titled “Ijtihad and its Relevance For Muslims in Australia”. Each chapter of the thesis examines one of the challenges faced by the Muslim community in Australia and draws upon the important concept of ijtihad in Islam—an independent legal process drawing upon reason for deducing laws from the sacred texts. In discussing sensitive issues surrounding integration, identity, women’s rights, democracy and modernity, the thesis demonstrates ijtihad’s potential for dealing with new situations and problems. It concludes with a program and a plea for rejuvenating the practice of ijtihad for Muslims living in Australia. This thesis was published as a book titled “Ijtihad and Muslims in Australia” in 2017.

I pondered a lot on these meanings and found that only correct and good leadership will secure the realisation of these concepts, instill them in the heart and mind, and then move people towards them as a goal that rises in society. Leadership is a fundamental element in changing nations and in the methodology of changing organisations, schools, institutes and hospitals.

If the purpose of schools, institutes and universities is to educate students and open up scientific and practical horizons, and the leadership in these schools and universities is bad, then we will have poor education, and a broken society.

And if the purpose of medicine is to help people to be well, and the leadership in hospitals or medical centers is bad, then we will have poor medicine as well.

If the goal of politics is justice among the people and the leadership is unjust, then we will get tyranny,

corruption and injustice. Leadership, then, is an essential element in our lives and societies. In the absence of good and wise leadership, we can never change the society for the better.

After many studies in leadership and management, which are my original area of study and long experience, I decided to create the “Aspire Leadership Network”, whose vision is: to develop a group of future leaders at every level of leadership while respecting their diversity.

The mission I took in this project is to follow the academic leadership education curricula and put them through an Islamic prism. Then, to work on discovering leaders and training them on these curricula influenced by a number of distinguished leadership scholars, most notably the esteemed Islamic scholar, Dr. Tariq AlSwaidan and other leadership scholars such as James kouzes, Barry Posner, Warren Blank and other scholars who excelled in leadership.

On Wednesday, January 27, 2021, by the grace of God Almighty, the first leadership training workshop on how to discover and educate leaders

was launched. This workshop was attended by prominent and emerging leaders in our Australian community who have distinguished professions such as medicine, pharmacy, psychology, medical practice managers, managers of cyber security and accounting companies, as well as language academics with master’s degrees.

The training was an introduction to leadership and its importance. This training seminar was on identifying, nurturing, realising leadership and discovering leadership signs in children. The training also included exercises from the various activities in leadership development that I will be focusing on in my upcoming training workshop sessions and on how to have balance in life.

It is unkind, a mistake even, to think that teen boys do not need their mothers. Mothers play a profound role in the lives of young males. A large study at the University of Iowa discovered that young men look up to their mothers as role models for their choice of wives. Nearly 80 percent of the men whose mothers were college-educated married women who have similar educational backgrounds. This is not the only area where mothers matter. The mother-son relationship is special. Mothers who demand respect from

boys show boys how to respect women, how honourable women behave and how girls want to be treated.

Demanding respect can take place in numerous ways.

Boys need mothers as much as their fathers for the sake of their emotional well-being.

They need mothers who are willing to listen and understand their concerns, appreciate them for who they are and support them in their quest for a meaningful life. But they don’t need mothers who are overprotective and constantly try to solve their problems. A five-yearold boy might need his mother to regularly check his homework but a sixteen-year-old certainly doesn’t!

If you are a mother who never had male siblings, you might be taken aback by how physical boys can get especially in the early years (of course, some boys prefer to read books than to look for snails under rocks). Being physical is only one aspect of boys. As your son grows older, maintain curiosity about his interests. This is a wonderful way to keep the bond intact. Welcome his

Men versus Women: Paint a Balanced View Boys gain input about what women think of men from their mothers.

Are men good or bad? What is the difference between responsible, reliable men and wayward ones?

Two extremes to avoid are idolizing men and painting a negative picture of men. The remarks that mothers make about men send messages to boys about whether becoming a good man is achievable.

Boys must learn that humans are complex creatures. Rather than painting certain men as “good” and others as “bad,” boys need to know that at all times, a man hovers between good and bad and it is his everyday choices that make all the difference. The ability of a boy’s mother to accept his father’s shortcomings, as long as they are reasonable, makes him realize you do not have to be perfect

friends into your home. Some boys are not verbally expressive and may not be comfortable to talk a lot.

Don’t nag him if he doesn’t want to talk much. He can feel your presence even if no word is exchanged.

Respect his privacy. When he was five, you might have been at your wit’s end trying to keep him occupied. By the time he is fifteen, you might be at a loss as to how to make him talk!

Example: As your son grows more capable, you may need his assistance in certain areas. For instance, your son is adept with computers and has been coming to your rescue each time your laptop breaks down. It’s okay for you to ask for help. But just make sure your communication is not limited to only when you need help.

Otherwise, he might think that the only time he matters is when your laptop breaks down!

to be loved. Boys need mothers to inculcate a sense of growing independence by encouraging them to take more care of themselves over the years. How a mother interacts with males in her lives provides compelling examples for a boy on how to make malefemale relationships work. Think about it: Do you see the opposite gender as equally important as your own? Consciously make an effort to portray a fair view of both men and women. Refrain from making remarks which may be seen as belittling the opposite gender.

‫الموعود باعتبارهما الخلفاء في األرض‬ ‫كما نصت عليه الكتب السماوية‪.‬‬ ‫أن تحب والديك شيء وأن تحترمهما‬ ‫ربما شيء أخر وقد يستغرب البعض من‬ ‫سذاجة واستفزازيه الطرح وان كانت االم‬ ‫أو الوالدة قد أخذت نصيبها من التقدير‬ ‫والتبجيل والتفضيل عن األب (وكما وردت‬ ‫في التعاليم الدينية‪« :‬من أحق الناس‬ ‫بصحبتي‪ ،‬قيل‪ :‬أمك‪ ..‬ثم أمك‪ ..‬ثم أمك‬ ‫‪ ..‬ثم أبيك!» (‪ 3‬مرات لالم مقابل مره‬ ‫واحــده لــاب!) باعتبارها من حملت‬ ‫وولدت وربت وكلها أمور صعبه ال يقدر‬ ‫عليها الرجل وتحملتها هي حبا وكرها!‬ ‫وحقيقة االمر ما دعاني للكتابة عن هذا‬ ‫الموضوع مشاهدتي الحد األفالم األجنبية‬ ‫مؤخرا (المحارب) وكيف يمكن للولد أو‬ ‫االبن (األوالد) أن يكرهوا أباءهم بشكل‬ ‫عنيف واقرب ما يكون للجحود أو النكران‬ ‫وقطع الصلة نتيجة عدم اهتمام االب بهم‬ ‫في صغرهم وانشغاله في ملذاته وأنانيتة‬ ‫المفرطة فانغماسه في شهواته وبعده‬ ‫الدائم (الغير مبرر) عن منزله وزوجته‬ ‫وأطفاله قد اكسبه المزيد من الكراهية‬ ‫وخصوصا عندما يتعلق االمر بمعاقرة‬ ‫الخمر والميسر والمخدرات والنساء‬

‫وأصحاب السوء والطلب المتزايد لألموال‬ ‫إلشباع رغباته الدنيوية بغض النظر عن‬ ‫مصالح أسرته واالهتمام بتربيتهم بالشكل‬ ‫الصحيح الفطري وفي أسوء األمور أن‬ ‫تصل الحالة الى الضرب وربما الضرب‬ ‫المبرح للزوجة واألطفال نتيجة انهيار‬ ‫النسيج الهيكلي لألسرة وتشرد األبناء‬ ‫نتيجة فشل هذا المشروع الفطري السليم!‬ ‫هذا تماما ما حصل في أحداث الفيلم‬ ‫حيث توفت الزوجة نتيجة القهر والمعاناة‬ ‫والمرض من خالل النكد والشجار الدائم‬ ‫في المنزل مع ما يسمى ب (االب أو الوالد)‬ ‫فاألوالد قد ضاعوا وفشلوا في دراستهم‬ ‫في وفــي محطات كثيره من حياتهم‬ ‫وتقاتال في أخر االمر كونهم ال يعرف‬ ‫بعضهم البعض نتيجة القطيعة والكراهية‬ ‫التي تسبب بها الوالد ( المحترم)!‬ ‫وكما تدين تدان! ‪ ...‬قول مأثور ومعروف‬ ‫للكثير منا وكلما اهتممت بولدك في‬ ‫الصغر اهتم بك بالمقابل في الكبر وكلما‬ ‫أحب الوالد أو االب أوالده وراعاهم‬ ‫في شبابهم كلما أحبوه وصاحبوه في‬ ‫الشيخوخة والعجز أما الوالدة فعطاء‬ ‫وحب المحدود لثمره أحشائها بعكس االب‬

‫فمصلحته الشخصية هي بوصلته في هذه‬ ‫الحياه فأن كان خيرا في سلوكه ورغباته‬ ‫وادارته لبيته فخير له وأن كان شرا فعليها‬ ‫وال يلومن االنسان اال نفسه!‬ ‫وأخيرا‪ ،‬لن تجد أعظم من تعاليم أحد‬ ‫األديان السماوية الحترام الولد ألبيه (أذا‬ ‫ما أحسن تربيته)‪:‬‬ ‫«روي أن رجال يمشي خلف رجل فقيل له‬ ‫من هذا فقال أبي‪ ..‬فقيل له‪:‬‬ ‫ال تدعه باسمه وال تجلس قبله وال تمشي‬ ‫أمامه!» سبحان الله‪ ...‬أي سلوك هذا‬ ‫وأي احترام ومــودة وحب هــذا! وقال‬ ‫تعالى ﴿ َوق َ​َضى َر ُّب َك َأ َّل َت ْع ُب ُدوا إ َِّل ِإ َّيا ُه‬ ‫َوبِا ْل َوا ِل َد ْينِ إ ِْح َسانًا إ َِّما َي ْب ُلغ ََّن ِعن َْد َك ا ْل ِك َب َر‬ ‫َأ َح ُد ُه َما َأ ْو ِك َل ُه َما ف َ​َل َتقُلْ َل ُه َما ُأ ٍّف َو َل‬ ‫َت ْن َه ْر ُه َما َوقُلْ َل ُه َما َق ْو ًل َكرِ ي ًما﴾‪.‬‬

‫أما المفاجأة الكبرى التي نختم بها‬ ‫فكونها في بيوت العجزة وكبار السن‬ ‫والــتــي أصبحت الــيــوم مليئه باإلباء‬ ‫واالمهات والخاالت والعمات وقد فقدوا‬ ‫جميعا أوالدهم وأحبائهم مع فقدان الحب‬ ‫والمودة واالحترام‪ .‬والله المستعان‪.‬‬

Hindsight is 2020.

Five lessons we learnt from the last year.

The Fitra Community School is an independent primary school in Melbourne’s South East that was established by a group of concerned parents. The school is designed very differently to other Islamic schools and commenced operations in 2020. In this article one of the school’s founders, Adel Mohamed, reflects on some of the lessons learnt in the year 2020.

By Adel Mohamed It’s become cliché to comment on how remarkably challenging the year 2020 has been.

With or without the pandemic 2020 was our first year of operating a school, so regardless it was always going to be a challenging year.

We learnt many things in 2020. Here are but a few.

Lesson #1: A year’s delay was a good thing Our intention was to start the school in 2019, however we encountered a few planning issues with our neighbours which meant that the school’s opening was uncertain. I wrote at the time that I hoped that it would be our Hudaiybiyyah moment and one year on from starting the school, I can certainly say it has been.

In 2019 we ran a learning co-op with other interested families, all the while hoping that we’d be able to over the planning objections that were preventing us from starting the school. It was disappointing not being able to start in 2019 as we hoped, but we experienced so much running the learning co-op in 2019 that it meant we were much better prepared come the start of 2020.

Saadia (the school’s Principal) took the time to develop the curriculum and oversee it’s implementation through the co-op educators. Great teachers are what make the the

school, and this was certainly a great development opportunity for us. The year’s grace also gave us the opportunity to comfortably complete the necessary infrastructure works and start to establish the systems and processes necessary to properly administer the school.

The year’s delay was indeed a blessing.

Lesson #2: We have our plan and Allah has His plan Failing to plan is planning to fail, they say. Well we did have a plan for the year 2020, but so too did Allah.

I admit we failed to plan for operating the the school in the middle of a global pandemic. A minor oversight? Well, not quite.

We managed to squeeze in all but one term on site before we were forced to move to remote online learning. No easy task, but our teacher’s embraced it with the best of attitudes and our students kept on learning and developing despite nearly two terms off site.

Well done to all!

Lesson #3: We are the sum of multiple parts Sometimes I have to pinch myself that we are actually running a school. We started off as a group of concerned parents who were searching for a better way to educate our children and today

we are officially on the register of schools in the State of Victoria.

How did this even happen?

When people think school, they think teachers and students.

Absolutely that’s the core, but there are so many facets to running a school - there’s the infrastructure to look after, the government to report to, the IT systems to set-up, the kitchen to operate, the stakeholders to manage and the list could go on and on.

What’s been absolutely clear that one person can’t do it all. We are the sum of multiple parts and we thank Allah for bringing us all together.

Lesson #4: Provision comes from where you never expect Allah says in the Quran: Whoever fears Allah Allah will find a way out for him and He will provide him from sources that he could never have imagined [Quran 65, Verses 2-3] And last year was a testament to this.

Truth be known, being a new school we always had that worry about where our students would come from. As it turned out, we had students come to us from all over the place including three who arrived in Melbourne from Brazil (of all places!) and others who crossed the Yarra River daily to come to school.

Allah speaks the truth. Believe it.

Live by it.

Lesson #5: Individualising learning is key We’ve gotten to know our student’s really well this year and it has become abundantly clear that they are all individuals that really need their specific needs attended to.

One child may be struggling with their handwriting, but may be amazing in the playground.

Whilst another may be excelling academically, but needs to learn now manage their anger better. So, just how do each of these children need to be nurtured and educated?

Individualizing learning is key to a child developing holistically.

I’ve been immensely proud of our teacher’s ability and passion for catering to every single child individually. I shudder to think what a child really gets out of school if they are a part of a one size fits all, cookie cutter type system. We designed our school as a small school in order to be able to do this for the children that come under our care and it is something that we are absolutely committed to as the years roll by.

HIJAB BETWEEN MODERN CHALLENGES AND ISLAMIC LAW Everyone knows about the extent of difficult challenges faced by Muslims in the world, due to cultural, intellectual, social and religious intrusions by the West. In fact, this cultural imperialism affects the Muslims negatively including the Muslim identity. In addition to the emergence of western ideologies such as globalization, secularism and other systematic methods of westernizing the Muslim life, the West has been trying to influence the Muslim women in particular in many ways. For instance, the emergence of “feminism” among Muslim women, following the western feminist tradition, without proper awareness of how Islam perceives women, often leads many Muslim women from the virtuous Islamic path. Thus, feminism negatively impacts Muslim women‘s uniqueness, and induces them to reject the basic religious practices of Islam due to their illusive quest for “freedom” and the desire for a modern lifestyle.

Consequently, wearing the hijab has been deemed as a form of oppression and as old fashioned. This essay sheds light on the challenges faced

by Muslim women wearing the hijab, the hijab’s significance in Islam and the way we could keep true to Islamic dress codes.

First, the challenges faced

by Muslim women living in the West for wearing the hijab. The hijab, nowadays, is associated with assumptions like terrorism, fundamentalism and extremism, especially after the 9/11 event.

In terms of association of the hijab with “terrorism”, Muslim women who wear the hijab, and in particular those who live in the West, are sometimes perceived as “terrorists”, as “dangerous” and “violent” women. Muslim women who wear the hijab are also deemed as “fundamentalists,” who do not change their lifestyle. Thus, they have been considered as traditional women of the “desert”, who know nothing about fashion and up-to-date

Furthermore, the hijab, among some of women, including some Muslim women who adapt to or assimilate in the western cultural mainstream, is seen as a “material object” that refers to ‘nothing’ but extremism because of their ignorance. For instance, in the western eyes, Muslim women who wear the hijab are considered as oppressed by Islam and, in particular, by Muslim men. However, the association of the hijab with “oppression” is only a propaganda used by western women to serve their ideology but, in fact, the position of women in Islam, their history and culture are totally different from western women’s background. Similarly, Muslim women wearing the hijab are also deemed as extremists. In regard to extremism, even some Muslim women link the hijab to extremism due to their cultural, traditional, customary, and even, intellectual backgrounds.

What is more, some “blind” Muslim women who embrace the ideology of feminism believe that the hijab is a “material object” that hides their beauty. In sum, Muslim women who wear the hijab, especially those who in the West, face numerous challenges due to negative assumptions associated with it.

Consequently, some Muslim women, unfortunately, give up wearing the hijab, and accept the modern way of life. Today, most Muslim women either do not wear the hijab or wear it incompletely; they cover their heads with scarves in different modern styles and cover their bodies with clothes that do not show decency and modesty required in Islamic dress. Nowadays, the hijab is not deemed as part of a Muslim woman’s identity which is as important a practice as the other

religious rituals, such as the daily prayers and fasting during the month of Ramadan. Furthermore, despite the differences between women and men due to physical, psychological and religious reasons, Muslim women struggle to be equal to men by removing the hijab, arguing that the hijab is an obstacle to freedom, especially after the emergence of ‘feminism’ in the West. Hence, the rise of feminism among Muslim women makes the latter to consider the hijab as a “material object” that limits their freedom. What is more, feminism makes women dress like men, and an indicator of this is that many Muslim women and girls, nowadays, wear t-shirts and trousers.

However, the hijab is a part of a Muslim woman, it is a part of her religion and it is a part of her identity. The hijab is compulsory in Islam based on the following explicit Quranic verses: an-Nur: 31, 60 and al-Ahzab: 59, which advise women to wear the hijab:

And tell the believing women to reduce [some] of their vision921 and guard their private parts and not expose their adornment922 except that which [necessarily] appears thereof923 and to wrap [a portion of] their headcovers over their chests and not expose their adornment [i.e., beauty] except to their husbands, their fathers, their husbands’ fathers, their sons, their husbands’ sons, their brothers, their brothers’ sons, their sisters’ sons, their women, that which their right hands possess [i.e., slaves], or those male attendants having no physical desire,924 or children who are not yet aware of the private aspects of women. And let them not stamp their feet to make known what they conceal of their adornment. And

turn to God in repentance, all of you, O believers that you might succeed. (Qur’an: 24:31) And women of post-menstrual age who have no desire for marriage - there is no blame upon them for putting aside their outer garments [but] not displaying adornment.

But to modestly refrain [from that] is better for them. And God is Hearing and Knowing. (Qur’an: 24: 60) O Prophet, tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to bring down over themselves [part] of their outer garments. That is more suitable that they will be known and not be abused. And ever is God Forgiving and Merciful. (Qur’an: 33: 59) The above verses prove the compulsion of the hijab in Islam.

Thus, Muslim women should not wait for others to tell them why and how to wear the hijab. They should not also wait for others to teach them to show commitment to the Islamic dress. However, the awareness of the hijab’s importance in Muslim women’s life should be enhanced as the hijab defines not only the Muslim women’s outer selves but also their inner selves. They need to improve their religious self-esteem to keep true to the hijab. To do so, they should read the primary sources of Islam – the Quran and the Sunnah–to have a “transparent knowledge” which helps distinguish the correct perception of the hijab as a sign of faith and modesty from assumptions that are associated with it by its critics.

To conclude, the hijab is a symbol of Muslim women’s religious conviction, identity, means of protection and a way to be closer to Allah. To them, it is empowering, spiritually fulfilling and also a standard of beauty. Hijabwearing Muslim women are also confidently anchored in their faith and culture. They refuse to fit in the up-to-date fashion and prioritise their faith over the craze of fad.

FIRED UP!

AFP Bushfire Documentary Premiere in Melbourne

On Saturday the 6th of February, the Australian Federal Police held a premiere screening of Fired Up, a short docu-film by Blueprint Studios about the Black Summer bushfires in 209/2020.

The film highlighted the amazing work carried out by Human Appeal

in partnership with the Australian Islamic Centre throughout the bushfire season as we sent out numerous convoys to distribute aid to the affected regions from the fires.

Human Appeal’s Director, Bashar Al-Jamal, travelled to Melbourne to be in attendance at the event

with Human Appeal’s Victoria State Manager, Sheikh Rabih Baytie and local staff. Mr Al-Jamal shared a couple of words, highlighting Human Appeal’s work & expressed his appreciation regarding the amazing work from the local community, whether it was donors or volunteers whom came together to support one

another. He also sent his sincerest thanks to the members of the SES, AFP & Melbourne Fire Brigade whom done an incredible job in fighting the fires.

Father & Son Week 7 Today’s adventure was meant to build Kids’ Motor Skills, Agility and Fitness with the help of their fathers.

This was the theme of the 7th Father and Son Program’s adventures last Saturday the 6th December.

The day was fantastic and thrilling, challenged the kids’ minds and bodies. At BURNS OUTDOOR OBSTACLE TRAINING Field, the program started with a tour around the facility addressing the safety measures should be taken to avoid risks.

The sons as well as their fathers enjoyed the several obstacles challenges with full energy and excitement. The day was concluded by delicious sausage sizzle cooked by Bilal Al-Hayek, who was amongst the fathers who enjoyed the event the most.

Stay tuned for more activities to come and many amazing surprises to be announced.

Fathers and Sons completely hooked on the fishing experience “We were completely hooked on the fishing experience” This what a father said in the 6th adventure in the Father and Son Program operated by Human Appeal Community Care in partnership with Bilal Al-Hayek on Saturday the 28th November.

The day was full of motion and excitement. It started with a “Learn to Fish” workshop

by Clr. George Mannah a representative of NSW department of fisheries who gave a professional tutorial on fishing and the safety procedures should be taken.

After that, fishing rods with a complete set of fishing gear to all participating children.

Participants then were divided into two groups one group preferred to swim due to the extremely weather and the second group went to practice what they learnt and started their first experience of fishing.

COVID-19 prevention methods were applied with checking participants’ temperatures, distributing face masks, gloves and hand sanitizers.

Muslim and catholic leaders band together to express concern over conversion bill

By Zainab Arab Muslim and Catholic leaders have expressed concern over the proposed Change of Suppression Practices Prohibition Bill 2020 in an open letter addressed to Premier Daniel Andrews.

The letter, penned by Mr. Mohamed Mohideen, President of the Islamic Council of Victoria, was written in association with Catholic Dioceses and Eparchies of Victoria.

The bill makes it illegal to try to suppress or influence a person’s gender identity or sexual orientation.

In order for an act to be considered a suppression practice, there are

three main criteria which must be met.

Firstly, it must be aimed at an individual. Secondly, it must be in relation to a person’s sexual orientation or gender identity.

Thirdly, it must have the goal to sway or suppress the person’s identity.

Professional health practitioners are exempt from the bill, only under the condition that they are assisting the person to express their identity.

The bill gives power to the Victorian Equal Opportunity and Human Rights commission (VEOHRC) to investigate reports of conversion practices and refer them to police.

Hefty penalties apply to those found guilty of conducting suppression practices which cause serious injury,

potentially facing up to 10 years in jail and a fine of up to $10,000.

Mohideen expresses he firmly rejects “practices of coercion and harm”, however he is most concerned about the bill criminalizing legitimate conversations “between children and parents” as well as the silencing of ministers of religion.

Mohideen outlines the bill includes “ill-conceived concepts of faith and conversation” and rather than protecting people’s freedom, it is “limiting, restricting and removing options”, ultimately creating space for harm.

The leaders of faith are primarily concerned that the bill seeks to legislate “what prayer is legal and what prayer is not”.

The letter suggests that the leaders of faith were not consulted by the Government to provide counsel or recommendations.

Mohideen makes clear that he is not opposed to the bill, he is rather seeking for amendments to be made which do not criminalize “prayerful advice and guidance, freely sought by one adult from another”.

He highlights that the faith leaders are working together to offer constructive resolutions, however they need to be given a voice to do so.

The leaders are urging the government to put an “urgent pause” on the bill, and conduct a meeting with Premier Andrews, themselves, and the Attorney General.

FROM TORMENT TO TRIUMPH, ONE MAN’S INCREDIBLE JOURNEY TO FREEDOM “The scariest part was being on a wooden fishing boat with another 30 people with a primitive engine in the Java sea, moving towards Australian territory, for two night and three days, and you don’t swim or float.” – Dr Waleed Alkhazrajy Every year, millions of people are forced to leave their homes in search of safety.

While most arrive by air holding valid travel documents, a small portion of people arrive by boat, and usually without valid paperwork, seeking refuge from the nightmare they once called home.

Shazma Gaffoor Dr Waleed Alkhazrajy, a doctor from Baghdad, fled Iraq in August 1995 and arrived on Australian shores in September 1996. He spent an entire year on a boat, desperately seeking asylum because he was facing execution back home.

“After a year of moving around, I don’t know which part was the most difficult.

The scariest part was being on a wooden fishing boat with another 30 people with a primitive engine in the Java sea, moving towards Australian territory, for two night and three days, and you don’t swim or float.

It was very scary, maybe even scarier than facing the police or customs without the proper documents,” Dr Alkhazrajy said.

Life in Iraq was turbulent under Saddam Hussein’s harsh regime. The turning point for Dr Alkhazrajy was when his government began using doctors and nurses to cut off the ears of army deserters or stamp their foreheads with a cross.

Conflicted between his values and coerced to follow protocol, Dr Alkhazrajy had to make a choice.

“I chose to uphold the values that I have, that I don’t harm anybody and didn’t agree with what the government was doing and wanted us to do. I had to leave because the price became personal and I would’ve faced the same fate as a lot of people in Iraq at the time, by being on the wrong side of the government. So I left.”

Dr Alkhazrajy said that travel was limited at the time in Iraq especially

for intellectuals and professionals whom the government wanted to keep a tab on, fearing that critical information would be leaked out.

“Leaving wasn’t easy for that fact. If you wanted to travel, you had to smuggle yourself across the border and that’s what I did. You get false documents, and you leave the country,” he said.

Referring to the people traffickers as people from the “dark world”, Dr Alkhazrajy said that trust did not exist, but he had no choice but to go with it. Money wasn’t readily available because he had no income. He had to rely on what little he had as seeking financial aid from family was non-existent.

“Once you leave Iraq, you can’t contact them back because phones are not available everywhere. Unlike today, technology was very

limited, email didn’t exist, and mail would take a long time but was also censored,” he said. “It wasn’t easy to get funds.”

After a gruelling 12 months of living as a nomad and being told to leave behind everything he called his own on a beach in Timor, Dr Alkhazrajy and a group of other refugees got into a boat during the wee hours of the night to make the long journey into Australian shores.

The group spent close to a year at the Port Hedland Detention Centre in Western Australia and were granted asylum in 1997. After his release, Dr Alkhazrajy earned his keep by picking fruit and studying for his Australian Medical Council Exam. He came second out of 360 other doctors globally.

“I call Australia home for multiple reasons. I’m giving back at multiple levels.

Professionally I’m practising medicine so I’m giving back to the community an excellent level of health service. Secondly, being a law-abiding citizen and an advocate for refugees and helping them settle into life in Australia,” he said.

Dr Alkhazrajy met with Chris Bowen who was then the minister for immigration when Labor was in power.

Mr Bowen had called for a meeting with people from minority communities, primarily people of Middle Eastern and Mediterranean background.

“I told him that when I think about how migrants feel when they come to a different country, especially when they arrive without choice, its like organ transplants. The organ has no choice and the surgeon picks an organ from the body and embeds it in another,” Dr Alkhazrajy said.

“So It’s up to that organ

to highlight issues on immigration and creating awareness to build bridges between the communities.

He has also joined the Army Reserves and is continuing to give back and protect the country that has given him a home.

“My message to migrants and fellow Muslim Australians is to be good citizens and feel that we are an integral part of the community here. There isn’t any conflict between your personal or religious beliefs and sense of citizenship in this country,” he said.

“Once we settle that within ourselves, we become a stronger community and we can work in a better way to advance the interests of our community within the framework of our country, interacting with other communities.”

We asked Dr Alkhazrajy if he has been back to Iraq in the last 25 years.

“I haven’t been back. At this stage it is still difficult for me to go there as there are still ongoing issues over there. Every time someone does the interview with you, you relive it. So you need to get your emotions back on track and retell the story while reliving it.”

Uzbekistan – untapped treasure trove of Islamic art, science and history Welcome to Al-wasat’s new series on ‘Unraveling the Silk Road’, where I will take you on a journey across Central Asia, discovering the history and culture of the region, as we visit Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrghizstan and finally Eastern Turkestan. If you are a student and want to learn more about Central Asia and its significance to the development of Islamic civilization and science, or you are an adult intending to visit the region, then this series should appeal to you.

Central Asia, without doubt was one of the most important centres of knowledge in Islam.

The deen spread rapidly between the 8th and 10th centuries, beyond the Arabian peninsula to neighbouring Persia, and across to ‘Khorasan’, stretching from the city of Merv to west to the edge of the Chinese empire in the great trading centre of Kashgar to the east (modern day Eastern Turkestan).

To the average Muslim, Uzbekistan is country shrouded in mystery, and not many would know that at one stage in the history of the Muslim world, it was the centre of Islamic civilization.

Cities the likes of Bukhara, Samarkand, Kokand and Tirmiz are now famous, and more familiar to us. These are all great cities in Uzbekistan, formerly known as Turkestan and renowned for their caravanserais and trading routes on the famed Silk Road.

Today, Uzbekistan is one of the former Soviet Union’s five “Stans”

Our journey begins with Uzbekistan…

which were pillaged and exploited by the communist Russians. The borders were arbitrarily divided, splitting towns and regions, pitting ethnic groups against one another. Today, we know them as Turkmenistan, Kirghizstan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. They all share a very similar culture and language, although Tajiks speak a Persian dialect, sharing a border with the mainly Turkic tribes, a strong cross-cultural exchange has occurred. Across the Amur Darya (river) to the south, is Afghanistan, which is a nation made up of Pashtuns, Uzbeks, Hazaras, Turkomens and Tajiks. The whole of

Central Asia and Southern Asia, have strong cultural and linguistic ties.

However, in terms of differences, the Uzbeks are the most populous out of the former Soviet ‘Stans’, and speak the same Turkic language as the Kirghiz and Kazakhs as well as with the Uighurs across the border in East Turkestan which is under Chinese control.

The Uzbeks were a fierce warrior tribe who brought much of the area between Mongolia and Siberia under their dominion, as continuous fighting with Mongol hordes forced them further south into the present area. Islam was introduced in the

The Uzbeks maintained Islam as the main identity and their cousins the Uighurs, equally kept Islam thriving. Great scholars emerged such as Mahmud Kashgari, Ulu Beg, known for his advances in astronomy, Al-Biruni, Farabi and of course the most well known Imam Bukhari. Al-Khwarizmi is one of the greatest mathematicians of all time and is responsible for developing algebra and algorithms (which originates from his name, Al-khwarizm). Farabi, one of the greatest philosophers of the Islamic age and Ibn Sina (known as Avicenna in Europe) was the great medical scientist, who made significant contributions to Western medicine.

All these people originated from the region we call Uzbekistan.

There must have been something in the air.

10th century and they are known to be staunch Hanafi Muslims.

The Uzbeks themselves set up separate khanates which were administered by different emirs, who were also religious scholars. Through this period, Islam spread throughout the region as far as China.

But the greatest of leaders and now a national icon is Timur Han himself, known as Tamerlane in Europe (a corrupted version of Timur the Lame). Timur was probably injured during battle which gave him a limp and was called Timur-e-lang by his Persian foes. He is known for making Samarkand his capital and bringing artisans, poets and scholars from all over his empire to establish one of the great centres of civilization. Although, unrelated to Timur’s exploits, Bukhara was also an important Islamic centre with reportedly over a 1000 madrasas and schools. The great scholars Nakshabandi and Imam Bukhari both originate from there. To know Islam, one must know the history of Central Asia.

But what about Uzbekistan today?

If one is planning a trip to the country, then there are two places, and possibly a third that one must absolutely without doubt visit: Samarkand and Bukhara and if one has time the Ferghana Valley.

I decided to travel to the region and discovered one of the world’s hidden gems, and definitely as a Muslim, a must see destination.

Politically, Uzbekistan had been left behind the iron curtain for more than 70 years and in 1992, after independence, foreigners to the area saw a very much neglected,

dilapidated and impoverished country, with very little to show after 7 decades of communist rule. The Russians had not made any investments into infrastructure and industry. Uzbekistan was primarily an agrarian society, mainly cotton and silk, as well as fruit and vegetable produce. The country also had large gold and uranium deposits. But all of that went west, to Moscow. The Uzbeks had been isolated and even by the late 90’s there were very few, if any Islamic institutions left and Islam, had lost all its impetus and only an empty shell remained. During my visit, I met many people who could barely recite al-Fatiha or new the basics of prayer. Anyone born after 1934 was born into a fascist godless society and today they are still suffering from the communist legacy.

Under Stalin, Islam was oppressed, practicing Muslims were eventually interned and sent to gulags (concentration camps) in Siberia or Ukraine. The rich landowners were dispossessed and their property was distributed into Kalkos’ (communally divided farms) which were run by the people. All the revenue was collected by the state.

In the early 90’s the mosques were empty and the younger generation had very little knowledge of the prayers and verses in the Quran, the generation who were in their 40s and 50s had almost zero understanding of their deen. If not for the small transferral of knowledge from their grandparents, Islam could have been entirely lost.

Today, there is a strong Islamic revival and with influence from Turkey and some of the Arab states, Islam has blossomed and the mosques are relatively free to operate. It was starkly different under ex-communist leader and

the first President of independent Uzbekistan, Islam Karimov, who ruled like a tyrant and brutally oppressed anyone who was affiliated with an Islamic group or organization.

Since Karimov died in 2016, many of the restrictions have been eased, while the secret police still operate and there are limitations to the official State Islamic body, people are much more relaxed today and with time Islam will be a vibrant state religion once again. The Uzbek spirit is too strong for it to die and today, there are important developments in education, science, maths and sport. Uzbekistan is the 2nd largest producer of cotton in the world.

One must, as I said, visit this country. And visit Samarkand, which was established by Timur.

The Registan (see photo), a central square, stands majestically surrounded by facades and mosques, all ornately decorated in amazing blue tiles. Timur and his wife Bibi, have their tombs close by, there are also beautiful mosques, schools and historical sites littered across the city. At its height Samarkand, housed the world’s greatest artists, scientists, sculptors, builders, tilers, poets, musicians and scholars all captured by Timur and taken to his city, to make it the most important city of the 15th century. Timur at one stage waged a war against the Ottomans, who claimed to be the greatest power of the day.

Timur humiliated the Ottomans in the battle of Ankara in 1402 and captured the Sultan himself, Bayezid, whose one eye was blinded in battle. Timur imprisoned him and he died while in captivity. There is a famous quote attributed to Timur: “One half of the world is ruled by a one eyed Sultan and the other by a lame king.” In any case, this city is

just a treat to see and explore, its nooks and crannies.

Then, of course one must travel to Bukhara. After Mecca and Medina, the third holiest site is Al-Quds also known as Jerusalem. It is said that the 4th holiest site in Islam is Bukhara. This is the burial place of Imam Bukhari and also Imam Nakshabandi. There are 1000 madrasas and too many mosques to count, with their towering, broad based mud brick minarets, quite unique to Bukhara.

Be aware that this is a hot place and with its ex-communist and Russian influence, a place that is not easy to navigate around and understanding the Cyrillic alphabet is a challenge, that is why many opt for a guided tour. I personally prefer the freer approach of travelling without a guide.

The food is exquisite, immediately you should think of Pilaf or Pulao, as it is also pronounced. This is a universal dish, served in all the stans and also in Afghanistan, Iran, India and Turkey. It’s basically rice cooked in oil, carrots and currants served with lamb. Quite a delicacy in these parts and one will see it being cooked in huge pots the size of a small boat. If you are a vegetarian you might struggle to find something without meat (goesh), but you can always ask to have the non-meat version. In Uzbekistan, the concept of vegetarian is quite alien.

AUSTRALIA POST RELEASES NEW STAMPS COMMEMORATING FRONTLINE WORKERS DURING COVID-19 Australia Post has recently released a new collection of stamps paying tribute to the frontline workers instrumental during the COVID-19 pandemic. UNLOCKING ABRAHA story itself, and just how much it connects to other chapters/ stories presented by the Quran; specifically, Surat al-Buruj.

By Furqan Jabbar The story of Abraha Al-Ashram as presented in the Quran is a story that is, no doubt, a story which is not appreciated as much as it should be. Nonetheless, the deeper story behind it is one that remains symbolically fascinating for our times. It perhaps goes without saying that the story has been oversimplified when referenced in masjid gatherings and elementary Islamic lessons to the point that the story is primarily a lesson in the tawakkul of Abdul-Muttalib and how Allah safeguards his symbols, such as the Ka’ba, from any potential harm.

Although these points may certainly ring true, it is however unfortunate how several amongst us are unfamiliar with the historical aspects of the

As referenced in this particular surah, Dhu Nawas (a king of Himyar between 517 and 525–527 C.E.) mercilessly persecuted Christians by forcing them to convert or burning themselves alive. Negus of Abyssinia, himself a Christian, dispatched Abraha and his cousin Aryat to Yemen to deal with the situation using a militarily approach.

The forces of Dhu Nawas were dealt with, to the point that the once proud king ultimately drowned himself to escape Abraha’s forces. Interestingly, the loss of Dhu Nawas’s iron-fist led to a power vacuum not unlike that in contemporary Iraq; Abraha and Aryat who were once military allies, cousins, had now become bitter rivals.

This rivalry continued for several years until the two finally agreed to settle their differences in a single duel; the winner would take all of Yemen. Abraha however, being the devious schemer that he was, had a

plan. He hid away a slave-boy, who, at the last moment jumped out behind a rock and pummeled Aryat to death. The lesson being, that tyrants (not unlike a certain ‘orange-faced’ ex-President), ethical or unethical, will always try to find a way to win.

Abraha however was not all powerful, he was still subject to the command of Negus.

In order to do away with any potential explaining and hang onto the (now significantly larger) dominion he held, he needed to appease Negus. To do this, he built the Ecclesia church (or Al-Qulays in Arabic), which, more than anything else (even if it was a church) was a display of pomp, power, and control.

The lesson being in this case, even if something is built with a religious purpose in mind, it can still be a tool for something negative rather than positive.

This became even more the case when Abraha proudly began intending for the Arabs to make their pilgrimage to Ecclesia instead of the Ka’ba. It was only when one of the visiting Arabs haughtily urinated in the

Church that Abaraha decided to attack the sanctuary which the Arab and his kind held in high esteem (as though the two were equivalent). The assumption being that it was acceptable to ‘punish’ an entire group due to the actions of a single man, not unlike some of the Islamophobic narrative which are being pushed in our own era.

One by one they challenged him, until finally they saw that they could not avail themselves against themselves against his prowess to the extent that they ‘sold themselves out’ and even offered Abu Righal as a guide that would take them directly to the Ka’ba. It is further interesting to note the irony in this aim. After all, Abraha conquered Yemen in the first place to retaliate against Dhu Nawas for the harm he had committed against Christians.

With such a move, we see him becoming the very thing which he so fiercely fought against.

Like the many tyrants that are toppled in contemporary political history, Abraha appeared to be very much an individual who was beginning to be embark on the path of his Yemeni predecessor.

As you may be able to gather, the story of Abraha has plenty in the way of drama and excitement. When I personally discovered some of the history behind it, it revealed an aspect of the story which had, for a very long time, been hidden and locked away as far as I was concerned. It is for this purpose; I aim to develop the story of Surat Al-Fil into a graphic novel intended for younger readers. ‫بالء‪ ،‬هو استبداد الحاكم بالمحكومين‪.‬‬ ‫وال شك أنها هي التي كرست له‪ ،‬ومكنت‬ ‫لتغلغل وتمكن االستبداد في حياتنا‪ ،‬وتحوله‬ ‫إلى ثقافة مألوفة‪ ،‬فال نكاد نكتشفه إال‬ ‫عندما ننتقل للعيش في مجتمعات أخرى‪،‬‬ ‫فنكتشف أن هناك ما يسمى بالكرامة‬

‫اإلنسانية والحرية وحقوق اإلنسان‪،‬‬ ‫ومشاركته الحقيقية في الحياة العامة بكل‬ ‫تفاصيلها‪ ،‬وبذلك أصبح االستبداد نمط‬ ‫حياة طبيعيا بدون أن ندري‪ ،‬حيث إنه بدأ‬ ‫مبكرا من المهد بدون أن نختاره‪ ،‬واستمر‬ ‫معنا الى اللحد بدون أن ندري‪.‬‬

‫أشكال االستبداد في واقعنا المعاصر‬ ‫• الحكم الفرعوني‪ ،‬حكومة الفرد المطلق‪.‬‬ ‫• الحكم العسكري‪ ،‬وإن كان بزي مدني‪.‬‬ ‫• الحكم بالتوريث‪ ،‬خاصة غير المقبول شعبيا‪.‬‬ ‫• السلطة الدينية لعلماء الدين‪ ،‬وفرض سطوتهم الدينية على عقول‬ ‫وأفكار ومعتقدات الناس‪.‬‬ ‫• النظام الدولي بأدواته األممية وأذرعــه االقتصادية واإلعالمية‬ ‫والسياسية‪.‬‬

‫الشرعية المزيفة لنظم الحكم االستبدادية‬ ‫تستمد النظم االستبدادية شرعيتها المزيفة من ‪ 3‬أشياء‪.‬‬ ‫• شرعية األمر الواقع بالقوة الصلبة الباطشة ضد أو مع أي معارض أو‬ ‫مهدد حالي أو مستقبلي لها‪.‬‬ ‫• االستقواء بالقوى العالم َّية‪ ،‬والتعاقد معها على دفع ثمن شرعية‬ ‫االعتراف والحماية‪.‬‬ ‫• تجهيل الشعب وتغييب وعيه حتى يستسلم ويرضى ويقبل باألمر الواقع؛‬ ‫يتفضل به النظام الحاكم عليه‪.‬‬ ‫ليعيش ضمن قطيع شعبي يقبل بما َّ‬ ‫فهي نظم حاكمة تف َت ِقر إلى الشرعية الحقيقية للحكم باالختيار الشعبي‪،‬‬ ‫بمعنى إنها تتجاوز الشعب وال تحترمه‪ ،‬وال تقدر رأيه واختياره ومطالبه‪،‬‬ ‫كما تعمل على حصار ومطاردة والتخلص من كل مهدد لها‪.‬‬ ‫الوسط ‪ ¿ 117‬رجب ‪ 1442‬هـ ¿ شباط ‪AL WASAT 117 ¿ Rajab 1442 ¿ February 2021‬‬

‫بإيجاز ومباشرة سأجيب عبر هذا الهرم عن سؤال وآلية عمل االستبداد عبر تحكم‬ ‫مستبد واحد في القوة الصلبة للدولة‪ ،‬وتوظيف عصبة من المفسدين المنتفعين‬ ‫من حكمه وفساده في كافة قطاعات الدولة‪ ،‬خاصة من رجال األعمال والدين‬ ‫والثقافة واإلعالم‪ ،‬وتسخير ماليين الشعب المستكين لخدمتهم والتحول إلى نظام‬ ‫وجيش مالك للدولة وللشعب‪.‬‬

‫عندما تعانقي السماء‬ ‫حليمة سيد حسن رمضان‬ ‫أخصائية أسرية وكاتبة في شؤون المرأة واالسرة‬

‫ٌ‬ ‫مرحات في األسواق أو نرى امرأة تسير بسعادة مع أطفالها أو تعارك الحياة مع من تحب‪ ،‬عندما نراها تضحك وتقهقه‬ ‫حين نرى النساء تتجولن‬ ‫نقول هذه هي السعادة وهذه هي الحياة المثالية‪ .‬وقد تكون هذه الحياة التي يطمح لها كل امرأة وكل رجل‪ .‬امرأة جميلة‪ ،‬منزل‪ ،‬أطفال‪ ،‬وظيفة ‪...‬الخ‪.‬‬ ‫ولكن هل كل ما نراه خارج المنازل حقيقي‪ ،‬هل ضحكات النساء حقيقية هل هذه الزينة والتزين والتجمع واللقاءات في المقاهي وهذه السعادة‬ ‫قرائي األعزاء حقيقة أخرى منافية تماما لما نراه كل يوم‪ ،‬إنها حقيقة‬ ‫الخارجية حقيقة‪ .‬قد تكون فعال حقيقة لبعضنا ولكن أحببت في هذه المساحة أن أشارك ّ‬ ‫لمأساة قد تعاني منها ربع نساء العالم‪.‬‬ ‫في هذا األسبوع كان لقائي األول بإحدى‬ ‫النساء من أجل االستشارة حيث كانت‬ ‫تعاني الكثير من المشاكل والخالفات‬ ‫الزوجية‪ ،‬فأحببت أن أشارككم هذه‬ ‫المعاناة وهذه الحقيقة والتي قد ال نراها‬ ‫في الشوارع واألسواق والمقاهي وأتمنى‬ ‫ولو بقد ٍر ضئيل ان اغير فيه من الفكر‬ ‫المتحجر لبعض األفراد وأتمنى ان تكون‬ ‫صوت ُأسمعه لكل العالم ألن‬ ‫هذه المقالة ٌ‬ ‫هذه االنسانة بكت بصمت لسنوات‪ .‬وبكل‬ ‫معاني السرية والخصوصية اسمحي لي‬ ‫عزيزتي بأن أصرخ بد ًال عنك وأن ُأسمع‬ ‫العالم صوتك الحزين‪.‬‬ ‫م‪ .‬ك‪ .‬منذ أيـــام تشتكي لــي بعص‬ ‫االضطرابات النفسية التي وصلت إليها‬ ‫بسبب الخالفات المستمرة في العالقة‬ ‫الزوجية والتي انتهت باالنفصال‪ ،‬لكنها‬ ‫مازالت تعاني تبعات هذه العالقة سواء‬ ‫التبعات النفسية والجسدية‪ ،‬والمادية‬ ‫وأيض ًا القانونية‪ .‬وحتى أستطيع أن أعكس‬ ‫تلك المعاناة فال بد لي من البدء من‬ ‫البداية‪.‬‬ ‫م‪ .‬ك‪ .‬جاءت الى هذه البالد مثل كثيرات‬ ‫من قريناتها النساء من أجل حياة أفضل‪،‬‬ ‫ثم كتب الله لها اللقاء مع زوجها ولم‬ ‫تكن ترى أنه خلف ذلك الوجه البريء‬ ‫ٌ‬ ‫وحش ال يرى في المرأ ِة إال المتعة والنهم‬ ‫الجسدي والمادي‪ ،‬حيث إن كل ما كان‬

‫يطلبه منها هو الجنس والمال وإن لم‬ ‫تلب هذه الرغبة فالنتيجة لم تكن الضرب‬ ‫ِ‬ ‫او الصراخ فقط بل الحرمان من ابسط‬ ‫الحقوق وأحيانا الطرد من المنزل حتى‬ ‫وان كان في منتصف الليل‪.‬‬ ‫أخت لنا في الدين وفي العقيدة بل وفي‬ ‫اإلنسانية تطرد من بيتها في منتصف‬ ‫الليل ألنها فقط لم تلبي طلبات زوجها‬ ‫التي ال استطيع ِذكرها حيا ًء‪ ،‬تطرد من‬ ‫بيتها وال تعرف الى أين تذهب فال أهل‬ ‫وال أصحاب‪ .‬وتقابلها السلطات وتسألها‬ ‫ما بالها في الطريق في منتصف الليل وال‬ ‫تستطيع أن تشتكي ألنه هددها إن وشت‬ ‫به فسوف يأخذ منها ابنتها الوحيدة فال‬ ‫تجيبهم اال إجابتها المعتادة “ انني فقط‬ ‫اشعر بالضيق ألني اشتقت ألهلي وخرجت‬ ‫الستنشاق بعض الهواء” وبعد أن يهدأ ذلك‬ ‫الثور الهائج في البيت ويخلد إلى النوم‬ ‫تعود أدراجها لتستقبل يوم ًا آخر من العنف‬ ‫والقسوة والبطش‪.‬‬ ‫كيف يمكن لبشرٍ ان يتحمل كل هذا وكيف‬ ‫إن كان هذا البشر امرأة‪ .‬هل يعقل أن‬ ‫يكون هناك إنسانٌ بهذه الوحشية‪ ،‬نعم‬ ‫هناك‪ ،‬بل وهناك اآلالف من المرضى قد‬ ‫ال يكونوا مثل هذا الوحش ولكنهم يحملون‬ ‫داخلهم هذا الفكر وهذا المرض العضال‬ ‫مثل النظرة الدونية للمرأة‪ ،‬والقسوة‪،‬‬ ‫واالضطهاد والعنف سواء العنف الجسدي‪،‬‬

‫أو النفسي‪ ،‬أو اللفظي أو حتى العنف‬ ‫المعنوي كحرمان المرأة من الخروج‬ ‫من المنزل او حرمانها من التواصل مع‬ ‫اآلخرين ‪ ....‬الخ‬ ‫تخلصت م‪ .‬ك‪ .‬من هذا الرجل وانفصلت‬ ‫عنه وال يستطيع اآلن الــوصــول إليها‬ ‫وتعذيبها بفضل سلطة القانون‪ ،‬ولكنها‬ ‫ما زالت تعاني الكثير من االضطرابات‬ ‫النفسية كاالكتئاب والقلق وكذلك‬ ‫اإلضرابات الجسدية‪.‬‬ ‫إنني من هذا المنبر أوجه صرخة عالية‬ ‫الى معاشر الرجال المرضى بالعنف‬

‫والعصبية والوسواس وأقول لهم إن الزواج‬ ‫ونظام كامل والمرأة عماد هذا‬ ‫مؤسسة‬ ‫ٌ‬ ‫النظام وهذه المؤسسة وليست خادمتها‬ ‫فإن لم تحسن اإلدارة فال تدخل هذه‬ ‫المؤسسة ألنه إن لم تُسأل في الدنيا فالله‬ ‫سائلك يوم القيامة‪.‬‬ ‫عزيزتي م‪ .‬ك‪ .‬هذه رسالة لك ولك امرأة‬ ‫أصرخ حتى‬ ‫مضطهدة في هذا الكون‪،‬‬ ‫ِ‬ ‫تسمعي العالم صوتك وان لم تستطيعي‬ ‫الصراخ فعانقي السماء فان رب الكون‬ ‫ناصرك ولو بعد حين‪.‬‬

‫لقاحات كوفيد ‪19 -‬‬ ‫إن وجود لقاح ‪ COVID-19‬آمن وفعال ومتاح للجميع في أستراليا‪ ،‬سيساعد على حمايتك أنت وعائلتك ومجتمعك من فيروس كورونا‪.‬‬ ‫ستكون لقاحات ‪ COVID-19‬مجانية للجميع في أستراليا‪ ،‬حتى لو لم تكن مواطن ًا أسترالي ًا أو مقيم ًا دائم ًا‪ .‬ويشمل ذلك األشخاص الذين‬ ‫ال يحملون بطاقة ميديكير والزوار األجانب والطالب األجانب والعمال المهاجرين وطالبي اللجوء‪.‬‬ ‫المجموعات ذات األولوية‬ ‫للتطعيم‬

‫تريد الحكومة األسترالية أن يحصل كل‬ ‫فرد في أستراليا على لقاح ‪COVID-19‬‬ ‫آمن ومجاني إذا اختاروا تلقي التطعيم‪.‬‬ ‫لدى منظم األدوية المستقل في أستراليا‪،‬‬ ‫إدارة السلع العالجية (‪ ،)TGA‬معايير‬ ‫صارمة لمراجعة لقاحات ‪COVID-19‬‬ ‫المحتملة‪َ .‬ف ُهم يوافقون فقط على‬ ‫لقاحات آمنة وفعالة‪.‬‬ ‫سيتم تطعيم البالغين الذين هم في‬ ‫أمس الحاجة إلى الحماية أو ًال من فبراير‬ ‫‪ .2021‬سيتم تطعيم الناس في مجموعات‪.‬‬ ‫سيتم تطعيم المجموعات بهذا الترتيب‪:‬‬

‫المجموعة ‪( 1a‬المرحلة ‪) 1a‬‬

‫• العاملون في الحجر الصحي و الحدود‬ ‫• عاملو الرعاية الصحية في الخطوط‬ ‫األمامية المعرضون للخطر‪ ،‬بما في‬ ‫ذلــك الموظفون في عيادات الجهاز‬ ‫التنفسي لدى الطبيب العام ‪ ،GP‬ومرافق‬ ‫اختبار ‪ ،COVID-19‬وموظفو اإلسعاف‪،‬‬ ‫والمسعفين الطبيين‪ ،‬وموظفو وحدة‬ ‫العناية المركزة وقسم الطوارئ‪ ،‬وموظفو‬ ‫الدعم السريري والمساعدين‪.‬‬ ‫• موظفو دور رعاية المسنين السكنية‬ ‫ورعاية ذوي اإلعاقة‬ ‫• المقيمون في دور رعاية المسنين‬ ‫السكنية ومراكز رعاية ذوي اإلعاقة‬ ‫المقيمين‪.‬‬ ‫يعتبر األشخاص الذين يتطوعون بانتظام‬ ‫داخــل مرافق رعاية المسنين السكنية‬ ‫موظفون وذلك لغرض لقاح ‪.COVID-19‬‬ ‫وهم مؤهلون للتطعيم ‪ COVID-19‬مع‬ ‫المجموعة ‪.1a‬‬ ‫المجموعة ‪( 1b‬المرحلة ‪)1b‬‬

‫• البالغون فوق ‪ 70‬سنة‬ ‫• جميع العاملين اآلخرين في مجال‬ ‫الرعاية الصحية‬ ‫• البدء في تطعيم السكان األصليين‬ ‫وسكان جزر مضيق توريس البالغين‪.‬‬ ‫• األشخاص الذين يعانون من حالة‬ ‫طبية كامنة‪ ،‬ويشمل ذلك األشخاص ذوي‬ ‫اإلعاقة‬ ‫• العاملون الذين يحتلون مناصب حرجة‬ ‫وخطرة بما في ذلك الدفاع والشرطة‬ ‫واإلطفاء وخدمات الطوارئ وعمال تجهيز‬ ‫اللحوم‪.‬‬

‫بعد ذلـــك‪ ،‬سيكون التطعيم متاح ًا‬

‫للمجتمع األوسع خالل عام ‪.2021‬‬ ‫وتشمل هذه المجموعات التمهيدية ما‬ ‫يلي‪:‬‬

‫• بقية السكان البالغين‬ ‫• اللحاق بأي من االستراليين غير الذين‬ ‫فوق ‪ 18‬سنة الذين تطعموا من المراحل‬ ‫السابقة‪.‬‬

‫إدارة السلع العالجية (‪ ،)TGA‬معايير‬ ‫صارمة لمراجعة لقاحات ‪COVID-19‬‬ ‫المحتملة‪ .‬إنهم يوافقون فقط على‬ ‫اللقاحات اآلمنة والفعالة‪.‬‬ ‫ستواصل ‪ TGA‬فحص كل دفعة من‬ ‫اللقاحات للتأكد من جودتها واالحتراس‬ ‫من أي آثار غير متوقعة بعد التطعيم‪.‬‬ ‫لماذا تم تطوير لقاحات ‪COVID-19‬‬ ‫بسرعة‬

‫الهدف الثالث‪:‬‬

‫التقليل من تناول السكر األبيض‬ ‫وإستخدام بدائل أخرى صحية‬ ‫يعتبر السكر من أهم األسباب الرئيسية‬ ‫في حدوث إلتهابات مزمنة في الجسم‬ ‫وخصوصا إذا زادت معدالته بالدم عن‬ ‫المعدل الطبيعي‪ .‬ويعتبر إرتفاع السكر‬ ‫في الدم هو من مسببات حدوث العديد‬ ‫من األمــراض سواء بطريقة مباشرة أو‬ ‫غير مباشرة مثل داء السكري من النوع‬ ‫الثاني‪ ،‬أمراض المناعة الذاتية (مثاال‬ ‫التهاب المفاصل الروماتويدي)‪ ،‬أمراض‬ ‫الجهاز التنفسي مثل الربو‪ ،‬أمراض القلب‬ ‫واألوعية الدموية‪ ،‬مرض التهاب األمعاء‪،‬‬ ‫االضطرابات المزاجية والعقلية (مثاال‬ ‫االكتئاب)‪ ،‬العديد من أمراض الحساسية‪،‬‬ ‫وبعض أنواع السرطانات عافاكم الله‪.‬‬ ‫ولألسف يتم اآلن إضافة السكر بكميات‬ ‫هائلة وبمسميات مختلفه حتى ال يتم‬ ‫التعرف عليها بسهوله من قبل المستهلكين‪،‬‬ ‫ومن ضمن هذه المسميات شراب الذرة‪،‬‬ ‫الفركتوز‪ ،‬شــراب الفاكهة‪ ،‬الجلوكوز‪،‬‬ ‫السائل الذهبي‪ ،‬السوربيتول‪ ،‬الالكتوز‪،‬‬ ‫المالتوز‪ ،‬وشراب القيقب‪.‬‬ ‫وبحسب الدليل األسترالي لألكل الصحي‬ ‫فإنه من المفترض أن ال يزيد إستهالك‬ ‫السكر في اليوم للشخص الواحد عن ‪10٪‬‬ ‫من إجمالي استهالكه للطاقة‪ .‬لذلك يجب‬ ‫التقليل من تناول الحلويات والسكريات‬ ‫والمشروبات الغازية ‪ ،‬وإستبدالها بالفاكهه‬ ‫وسكر ستيفيا وإضافة القرفة والكاكاو‬ ‫للمشروبات والحلويات‪.‬‬

‫الهدف الرابع‪:‬‬

‫إلحتواء الليمون على مضادات لألكسدة‬ ‫ولذلك يعتبر مشروب مهم في حاالت‬ ‫نزالت البرد واحتقان األنف والحنجره‬ ‫والتهاب اللوزتين‪ .‬ومــن أهــم فوائده‬ ‫أيضا أنه يمنع تكون الحصوات في الكلى‬ ‫ويساعد على إذابتها ويعمل على تخفيف‬ ‫حمض اليوريك أسيد وبالتالي يخفف من‬ ‫آآلم المفاصل في حالة مرض النقرس‪.‬‬

‫إستبدال جميع الزيوت النباتية والدهون‬ ‫المشبعة بزيت الزيتون البكر الخالص‬ ‫يتميز زيت الزيتون عن بقية الزيوت‬ ‫النباتية بإنه مصدر غني بالدهون‬ ‫األحــاديــة الغير المشبعة والمعروفه‬ ‫علميا بتحفيز الكوليسترول الجيد في‬ ‫الدم ‪( HDL‬والــذي يعمل على إلتقاط‬ ‫الكوليسترول الزائد في الدم وتوصيله‬ ‫للكبد ليتم التخلص منه) ويقلل من‬ ‫مستويات الكوليسترول السيء بالدم ‪LDL‬‬ ‫(والذي يعمل على أخذ الكوليسترول من‬

‫حديث «من حلف على يمين‬ ‫فرأى غيرها خيرا منها‪»...‬‬

‫قد يحلف المسلم على ترك‬ ‫خير‪ ،‬أو منع حــق‪ ،‬بدافع‬ ‫غضب أو حمية‪ ،‬ثم يزول عنه‬ ‫عارض الغضب‪ ،‬ويرغب بإتيان الخير‪،‬‬ ‫فجعل الشارع له مخرجا للعود في يمينه‪،‬‬ ‫وفعل ما هو خير‪ ،‬والرجوع إلى األصلح‬ ‫واألصــوب‪ ،‬وهذا من رغبة الشريعة في‬ ‫فعل محاسن األمــور‪ ،‬واختيار أعالها‬ ‫فضال‪ ،‬وأكثرها خيرا‪ ،‬وعدم التمادي في‬ ‫اليمين حجة لالستمرار‬ ‫األيمان‪ ،‬فال تُجعل‬ ‫ُ‬ ‫يحسن‪.‬‬ ‫في ما ال ُ‬ ‫روى مسلم في صحيحه عن أبى هريرة‪،‬‬ ‫قال‪ْ :‬أعتَم رجل عند ‪-‬النبي صلى الله عليه‬ ‫وسلم‪ ،-‬ثم رجع إلى أهله فوجد الصبية قد‬ ‫ناموا‪ ،‬فأتاه أهله بطعامه‪ ،‬فحلف ال يأكل‬ ‫من أجل صبيته‪ ،‬ثم بدا له فأكل‪ ،‬فأتى‬ ‫رسول الله ‪-‬صلى الله عليه وسلم‪ -‬فذكر‬ ‫ذلك له‪ ،‬فقال رسول الله ‪-‬صلى الله عليه‬

‫وسلم‪« :-‬من حلف على يمين‪ ،‬فرأى غيرها‬ ‫خير ًا منها فليأتها‪ ،‬وليكفر عن يمينه»‪.‬‬ ‫قال النووي في شرح مسلم‪ :‬في هذا‬ ‫الحديث داللــة على أن من حلف على‬ ‫فعل شيء أو تركه وكان الحنث خير ًا من‬ ‫التمادي على اليمين استحب له الحنث‬ ‫وتلزمه الكفارة‪ ،‬وهذا متفق عليه‪ .‬أ‪.‬هـ‬ ‫متى تلزمه الكفارة؟‬

‫الجواب‪ :‬للكفارة ‪-‬من حيث وقت وقوعها‬ ‫وإجزاؤها‪ -‬ثالث حاالت‪:‬‬ ‫أحدها‪ :‬أن يكفر قبل أن يحلف فهذا ال‬ ‫يجزئه‪.‬‬ ‫الثانية‪ :‬أن يكفر بعد أن يحلف ويحنث‬ ‫فهذا يجزئه‪.‬‬ ‫الثالثة‪ :‬أن يكفر بعد اليمين‪ ،‬وقبل الحنث‬ ‫فهل يجزئه أم ال؟‬ ‫جوز ذلك جمهور الفقهاء كما ذكر النووي‪،‬‬

‫ولكن قالوا يستحب كونها بعد الحنث‪،‬‬ ‫واستثنى الشافعي التكفير بالصوم‪ ،‬فقال‬ ‫ال يجوز قبل الحنث ألنه عبادة بدنية فال‬ ‫يجوز تقديمها على وقتها كالصالة وصوم‬ ‫رمضان وأما التكفير بالمال فيجوز تقديمه‬ ‫كما يجوز تعجيل الزكاة‪.‬‬ ‫وسبب الخالف في جواز تقديم الكفارة‬ ‫على الحنث هو تعدد الروايات بتقديم‬ ‫الكفارة وتأخيرها على الحنث‪ ،‬ففي رواية‬ ‫‪« :‬من حلف على يمين‪ ،‬فرأى غيرها خيرا‬ ‫منها‪ ،‬فليكفر عن يمينه‪ ،‬وليفعل»‪ ،‬فقدم‬ ‫الكفارة في هذه الرواية على الحنث‪ ،‬وفى‬ ‫الرواية األخرى‪«:‬فليأت الذى هو خير‪،‬‬ ‫وليكفر عن يمينه»‪ ،‬فأخر الكفارة‪ ،‬وكال‬ ‫الروايتين في صحيح مسلم‪.‬‬ ‫قــال القاضي عياض ‪ -‬رحمه الله ‪:-‬‬ ‫بحسب اختالف ألفاظ هذه الرواية اختلف‬ ‫العلماء ‪ -‬رحمهم الله ‪ -‬فى إجزاء الكفارة‬

‫قبل الحنث‪ ،‬مع اتفاقهم أنها ال تجب‬ ‫إال بعد الحنث‪ ،‬وأنه يجوز تأخيرها بعد‬ ‫الحنث‪ .‬أ‪.‬هـ‬ ‫ولكن المانعين من تقديم الكفارة على‬ ‫الحنث ‪-‬وهم الحنفية‪ -‬ردوا على االستدالل‬ ‫بالتقديم في الرواية‪ ،‬بأن الواو ال تقتضي‬ ‫مقدم الكفارة على‬ ‫الترتيب‪ ،‬وقالوا‪ :‬بأن ِّ‬ ‫الحنث فاعل لها قبل أن تجب‪ ،‬فصارت‬ ‫كالتطوع‪ ،‬والتطوع ال يجزئ عن الواجب‪.‬‬ ‫ومن فقه الحديث أنه يلزم الحالف أن‬ ‫يقارن بين المضي في يمينه‪ ،‬والحنث‬ ‫فيها مع الكفارة‪ ،‬فيفعل أولى األمرين‪،‬‬ ‫وأقربهما للخير‪ ،‬قال ابن حجر‪ :‬واستدل‬ ‫به الشافعي على أن الحالف يجب عليه‬ ‫فعل أي األمرين كان أولى‪ ،‬من المضي‬ ‫في حلفه أو الحنث والكفارة‪ .‬أ‪.‬هـ‬ ‫اسالم ويب‬

‫مركز أبو هريرة النموذجي‬ ‫لتحفيظ القرآن الكريم وعلومه‬

‫أحمد شريف ملبورن‬ ‫مــركــز قـــرآنـــي‪ ،‬يــقــع في‬ ‫إحدى مدن شرق السودان‪.‬‬ ‫أطلق عليه مؤسسوه (مركز‬ ‫أبوهريرة األنموذجي لتحفيظ القرآن‬ ‫الكريم وعلومه)؛ تعظيما ألبي هريرة‬ ‫الصحابي الجليل سيد الحفاظ األثبات‪.‬‬ ‫كان اسمه في الجاهلية عبد شمس‪ .‬عرفه‬ ‫التاريخ بأبي هريرة‪ ،‬حيث كان مشهورا‬ ‫به َِّرة كان يحملها ويعتني بها‪ .‬أول من أطلق‬ ‫عليه االسم الذي اشتهر به‪ ،‬هو رسول الله‬ ‫صلى الله عليه وسلم‪ .‬ففي الحديث {عن‬ ‫أبي هريرة قال دخلت مع رسول الله صلى‬ ‫الله عليه وسلم‪َ ،‬ف َو َج َد َل َبنًا ِفي ق َ​َد ٍح َفق َ‬ ‫َال‬ ‫الص َّف ِة فَا ْد ُع ُه ْم ِإ َل َّي إلى‬ ‫َ«أ َبا ِه ٍّر ال َْح ْق َأ ْه َل ُّ‬ ‫آخر الحديث}‬ ‫وقال أبو هريرة عن نفسه‪ ،‬نشأت يتي ًما‬ ‫أجيرا لبسرة بنت‬ ‫وهاجرت مسكينًا وكنت ً‬ ‫غزوان بطعام بطني وعقبة رجلي‪ .‬فكنت‬ ‫أخدم إذا نزلوا‪ ،‬وأحدو إذا ركبوا‪ ،‬فزوجنيها‬ ‫قواما‬ ‫الله‪ ،‬فالحمد لله الذي جعل الدين ً‬ ‫إماما‪ .‬وجعل منه اإلسالم‪،‬‬ ‫وجعل أبا هريرة ً‬ ‫سيد الحفاظ األثبات‪.‬‬ ‫للنبي صلى الله عليه وسلم‪ ،‬األثر‬ ‫كان ِّ‬ ‫األكبر في تنشئة وتربية أبي هريرة‪.‬‬ ‫النبي لم ُيفارقه قط‪،‬‬ ‫فمنذ أن ق َِدم إلى ِّ‬ ‫حتى أصبح أحفظ أصحابه صلى الله‬ ‫عليه وسلم‪ ،‬وكانت يده مع يده‪ ،‬يدور معه‬ ‫ٍ‬ ‫حصل من‬ ‫حيث ما دار‪ .‬وفي‬ ‫سنوات قليل ٍة َّ‬ ‫حصله أح ٌد من‬ ‫العلم عن الرسول ما لم ُي ِّ‬ ‫كثيرا؛ فعنه‬ ‫النبي ُي ِّ‬ ‫وجهه ً‬ ‫الصحابة‪ .‬وكان ُّ‬

‫النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال له‪َ « :‬يا‬ ‫َّأن َّ‬ ‫َّاس‪َ ،‬و ُك ْن‬ ‫َأ َبا ُه َر ْي َر َة ُك ْن َور ًِعا‪َ ،‬ت ُك ْن َأ ْع َب َد الن ِ‬ ‫َّاس َما‬ ‫َّاس‪َ ،‬و َأ ِح َّب ِللن ِ‬ ‫َق ِن ًعا‪َ ،‬ت ُك ْن َأشْ َك َر الن ِ‬ ‫ت ُِح ُّب ِل َنف ِْس َك‪َ ،‬ت ُك ْن ُمؤ ِْمنًا‪َ ،‬و َأ ْح ِس ْن جِ َوا َر‬ ‫الض ِح َك‪،‬‬ ‫َم ْن َجا َو َر َك‪َ ،‬ت ُك ْن ُم ْس ِل ًما‪َ ،‬و َأ ِق َّل َّ‬ ‫ِيت ا ْل َقل َْب»‪.‬‬ ‫َفإ َِّن َكث َْر َة َّ‬ ‫الض ِح ِك ُتم ُ‬ ‫ألتقت بالشيخ األستاذ‪ /‬عثمان‬ ‫الوسط‬ ‫ْ‬ ‫محمد موسى (فاكاي)‪ ،‬فكان هذا الحصاد‬ ‫عن [مركز أبي هريرة األنموذجي لتحفيظ‬ ‫القرآن الكريم وعلومه]‪:‬‬ ‫يقع المركز في شرق السودان‪ ،‬وتحديدا‬ ‫مدينة القضارف – بحي دار السالم‪.‬‬ ‫تأسس عام ‪ ،2000‬بمبادرة من الدكتور‪/‬‬ ‫محمد أحمد (مدير المركز حاليا) ثم تبعه‬ ‫نفر كريم من أبناء المنطقة؛ استشعار‬ ‫لحاجة السكان إلى مركز يعلم أبناءهم‬ ‫القرآن الكريم؛ ويربط الناشئة بكتاب الله‬ ‫سبحانه وتعالى‪ ،‬ويوفر لهم ما تقاصرت‬ ‫عنه المدارس النظامية في السودان‬ ‫أخيرا‪ ،‬بشأن العزوف عن الطرق التقليدية‬ ‫لحفظ كتاب الله‪ ،‬وهي الطريقة التي‬ ‫درجت عليها األجيال في السودان عموما‪،‬‬ ‫وعلى وجه الخصوص مدن وأرياف شرق‬ ‫السودان‪.‬‬ ‫ليس للمركز جهة رسمية داعمة‪ ،‬كل‬ ‫ما يتوفر لتسيير عمله‪ ،‬هو من تبرعات‬ ‫المحسنين‪ ،‬والــرســوم الشهرية التي‬ ‫يدفعها الطالب‪ .‬نشأ المركز أوال كحضانة‬ ‫لألطفال‪ ،‬ثم أضيف إليه مهام آخر‪ ،‬وهو‬ ‫تحفيظ القرآن الكريم‪ ،‬وتدريس العلوم‬ ‫اإلسالمية‪ ،‬لطالب المرحلة اإلبتدائية‪.‬‬ ‫خرج المركز حتى اآلن‪ ،‬أكثر من ‪ 9‬ألف‬ ‫َّ‬ ‫طالب وطالبة‪ .‬أكملوا المرحلة االبتدائية‬ ‫(ست سنوات) وتمكنوا خاللها من حفظ‬ ‫أجزاء من كتاب الله الكريم‪ .‬بعضهم حفظ‬ ‫القرآن الكريم كله‪ ،‬وبعضهم نصفه أو ثلثه‪.‬‬ ‫خرج المركز قرابة ‪ 500‬طالب وطالبة كل‬ ‫ُي ِّ‬ ‫عام‪ ،‬ويدفع بهم إلى المدارس النظامية‪،‬‬ ‫حافظين أجــزاء أو كل أجــزاء القرآن‬ ‫الكريم‪ ،‬وهي ميزة الطالب الخريجين من‬ ‫مركز أبي هريرة‪ ،‬عن بقية أقرانهم في‬ ‫المدارس النظامية‪.‬‬

‫الشيخ األستاذ‪ /‬عثمان محمد موسى (فاكاي)‬

‫من بين العلوم التي ُيعنى المركز‬ ‫بتدريسها‪ ،‬إضافة إلــى حفظ القرآن‬ ‫الكريم‪ ،‬تدريس العلوم اإلسالمية‪ ،‬واللغتين‬ ‫العرية واالنجليزية‪ ،‬إلى جانب المواد‬ ‫الخاصة بالمرحلة اإلبتدائية جميعا‪.‬‬ ‫شهادة المركز معترف بها لدى وزارة‬ ‫التربية والتعليم السودانية‪ ،‬سيما وأن‬ ‫الفترة التي يدرس فيه الطالب بالمركز‪،‬‬ ‫هي نفس سنوات المرحلة االبتدائية‬ ‫السارية بــالــســودان‪ .‬عــدد المعلمين‬ ‫المنخرطين بالمركز (تطوعا) حتى اآلن‬ ‫(‪ ،)5‬وهم من أكفأ المعلمين بالمنطقة‪،‬‬ ‫وهناك مجلس إدارة ومدير‪.‬‬ ‫للمركز أسلوب إداري ومالي منظم‪ .‬ساعد‬ ‫على التحاق عدد من طالبه بالجامعات‬ ‫والمعاهد العليا داخل السودان وخارجه‪،‬‬ ‫وفي مختلف التخصصات بما في ذلك‬

‫الطب والهندسة والقانون‪.‬‬ ‫وفيما يخص مقر المركز‪ ،‬بدأ مهامه في‬ ‫دار مستأجر لمدة ‪ 9‬سنوات‪ .‬وأخيرا طلب‬ ‫المالك إخالء المقر‪ ،‬فتنادى الخيرون من‬ ‫أبناء المنطقة في الخارج‪ ،‬لتقديم واجب‬ ‫الدعم‪ ،‬حتى تمكنوا من جمع مبلغ وقدره‬ ‫(‪ )4‬مليار جنيها سودانيا‪ ،‬أي ما يعادل‬ ‫(‪ )17‬ألف دوالر استرالي‪ .‬هذا المبلغ‬ ‫مكن اإلدارة من شراء قطعة أرض تبلغ‬ ‫مساحتها (‪ )600‬متر مربع‪ .‬وبحمد الحمد‬ ‫الله المركز له مقر ملك‪ .‬لكن تظل الحاجة‬ ‫ملحة لتأسيس الفصول‪ ،‬وبناء المكاتب‬ ‫والمستلزمات األخرى‪ ،‬من دورات مياه‬ ‫ومنافع أخرى‪ .‬وللمركز رقم حساب خاص‪.‬‬ ‫في ختام اللقاء‪ ،‬تحدث عن أهمية‬ ‫المركز‪ ،‬مشيرا إلى الحاجة الملحة لسكان‬ ‫المنطقة‪ ،‬سيما وأنهم يهتمون بتحفيظ‬ ‫أبنائهم الــقــرآن الكريم وعلومه‪ ،‬وال‬ ‫يترددون في دفع الرسوم الشهرية وقدرها‬ ‫(‪ )80‬جنيها سودانيا‪ .‬هذه الرسوم ُيستثنى‬ ‫منها األبناء اليتامى والفقراء‪ ،‬رغم حاجة‬ ‫المدرسة إلى الرسوم الشهرية‪.‬‬ ‫وأضــاف الشيخ عثمان (فاكاي)‪ ،‬أكبر‬ ‫تحدي يواجه المركز اآلن‪ ،‬عدم وجود دعم‬ ‫دائم‪ ،‬حيث يعتمد المركز على الرسوم‬ ‫الشهرية المشار إليها أعاله‪ ،‬باإلضافة إلى‬ ‫تبرعات المحسنين سواء كانت فردية أو‬ ‫جماعية‪ .‬وأهاب بقراء {الوسط} التعاون‬ ‫مع المركز عبر االتصال مباشرة على‬ ‫الرقم ‪ 042488190 :‬سيما وأن للمركز‬ ‫خطط وبرامج مستقبلية‪ ،‬تشمل المراحل‬ ‫الدراسية األخرى‪ ،‬اإلعــدادي والثانوي‪،‬‬ ‫دون التخلي عن الهدف األساسي للمركز‪،‬‬ ‫المتمثل في تحفيظ القرآن الكريم‪ ،‬كمادة‬ ‫أساسية‪ ،‬باإلضافة إلى العلوم االسالمية‪،‬‬ ‫وإضافة مواد المناهج الدراسية النظامية‬ ‫في السودان‪.‬‬ ‫وقدم الشكر الجزيل لـ {مجلة الوسط}‪،‬‬ ‫على اهتمامها بالمركز‪ ،‬وأن هذه المقابلة‬ ‫تمثل دعما كبيرا للمركز‪ ،‬وتمنى أن تكون‬ ‫في ميزان حسنات الفريق اإلعالمي‬ ‫لإلصدارة الهامة {مجلة الوسط}‪.‬‬

WORLD HIJAB DAY 2021

AT ISLAMIC COLLEGE OF MELBOURNE On Friday the 5th of February the Islamic college of Melbourne (ICOM) celebrated World Hijab Day. ICOM able to host a variety of activities for the students including a Hijab styling tent where students could have their Hijab styled by senior students and teachers while a Hijab design contest was held in the gymnasium where groups of Secondary girls could take part in some expressive & creative fun.

The Year 5 students were invited to a special Hijab ceremony where they were all given gift bags including Hijab for the girls and a prayer hat for the boys.

Overall the World Hijab Day celebrations were a great succes.
