Allied Acquires Total Business Solutions

Building a Stronger Future Together

We have completed the acquisition of Total Business Solutions. We have the unique opportunity to build upon our strong businesses, recognized brands, and quality products to become one of the leading companies in our industry, especially as it relates to expanding our Utah market. To our newest employees, let me be the first to welcome you to Allied.

This acquisition is a game-changer for all of us. TBS is a successful office equipment company located in Spanish Fork Utah and has been led by Bruce Hiskey and his tenured team. TBS does over $3 million in revenue annually and is authorized for sales and service of Xerox, Epson, and Brother products. We are excited to expand Allied's current product offerings to this market and gain such a strong team of outstanding employees. The office in Spanish Fork is approximately one hour south of our current Salt Lake City office so the location could not be better for expansion.

All of this makes for a better, stronger Allied – which in turn creates additional resources and strategic focus to continue to invest in our growing business and employees.

Our success first and foremost, is about people – helping people build great businesses, partnerships, and places to work. None of this can happen without the dedicated, hardworking people who have worked so tirelessly to make our company what we are today. Allied is a team environment, where people can grow and contribute to our shared successes across a wide range of products and services. I know that each of you share a powerful sense of pride in a job well done and in sharing products and services to clients to ensure their success. Together, we can build upon our successes to become #1 in ’31!

Our mission is to create a great place to work for our employees and our purpose is to elevate employees and businesses to be their best.

A Behind-the-Scenes Look at Her Critical Role as IT Order & Finance Coordinator

Sara is a crucial member of the Allied IT team, holding the roles of IT Order Coordinator, and IT Finance Coordinator. With her experience and expertise, she ensures that orders for IT hardware and software, whether it be one item or a project, are processed smoothly from start to finish. She oversees the IT purchasing and inventory, ensures that the customer is onboarded smoothly with clear communication, and handles monthly invoicing for time and materials as well as agreement billing.

Sara also plays an essential role in benchmarking and tracking the company's IT revenue, expenses, and costs. With the use of SLI and Sea Level, she ensures that every transaction hits the correct general ledger account and department, with the benchmarks being met or exceeded.

Her recent achievement is the implementation of the down payment process, allowing us to track and realize the labor that was done each period as they complete IT projects.

Sara is a valuable asset to the IT team, and her work ensures that the customer's experience is top-notch while keeping the company profitable.

SPOTLIGHT: SPOTLIGHT: FRED BAUERFELD FRED BAUERFELD

The Virtual CIO Who Makes a Difference

As a vCIO, Fred, who holds an MBA in Technology Management, serves as the Chief Information Officer and Chief Technology Officer for our managed services clients. He focuses on providing consulting services and ensuring that technology is aligned with clients' business objectives. Fred's mantra is, "You don’t have IT Problems, you have IT process problems," reflecting his emphasis on understanding clients' businesses and finding IT solutions that address their unique challenges.

Fred's consultative approach begins with a discovery meeting to determine if our services are a good fit for the client and vice versa. He then conducts a comprehensive assessment of the client's hardware, software, and workflows, in addition to meeting with key stakeholders to identify specific pain points and opportunities for improvement.

Fred's focus on understanding clients' businesses and their unique needs sets our company apart from other managed services providers. Rather than merely fixing IT issues, we work closely with clients to identify ways that technology can help improve their operations, streamline workflows, and enhance communication.

Once a client signs on, we initiate a thorough onboarding process, led by our project manager, Shane. This includes internal and external kickoff meetings and a 30-to-45-day timeline to set up the client's managed services agreement. Fred stays in close contact with clients during the onboarding process and afterward, scheduling quarterly reviews and providing ongoing support as needed.

In addition to his vCIO role, Fred also works with Jennifer to manage client accounts, ensuring that their technology needs are met and that they have the necessary equipment and resources. Fred is also responsible for vendor management, collaborating with other team members to evaluate potential partners and negotiating deals to provide the best possible service at competitive prices.

Fred's dedication to understanding clients' businesses, addressing their unique challenges, and delivering exceptional service, backed by his MBA in Technology Management, makes him an invaluable asset to our team. His work exemplifies our commitment to providing the best possible managed services for our clients, helping them succeed in today's ever-evolving technology landscape

UPDATES ANDREW FIETSCH

Andrew is a skilled IT professional with over 23 years of experience in the field. He specializes in network and server administration. When he's not working, you can find him spending time with family or on the golf course, where he spends his free time perfecting his swing.

Every computer that is managed by ABS receives regular updates to ensure optimal performance and protection against known security risks. Once updates have been received on your computer, a reboot is needed to complete the installation.

When you see the pop-up in the image below, it is important to restart your computer. Please note, that shutting down your computer and turning it back on does not provide the update installation to complete like restarting it does.

OUTLOOK SAFE SENDERS

Recently, a Microsoft update went out that caused what would normally be classified as safe emails to be tagged as spam. If you find emails in your Junk Email folder in Outlook that shouldn’t be tagged as spam, you can right-click the email and go to Junk> Never Block Sender. Organizations using advanced spam filtering may require further action to make a sender as safe.

Andrew's love for golf started when he was a kid, and he has been passionate about the sport ever since. He enjoys spending time on the greens, playing with friends and colleagues, and competing in local tournaments.

Despite his love for golf, Andrew remains dedicated to his work and is always looking for ways to improve his skills and knowledge in the field of IT. He holds several certifications, including A+, Network+ and Security+ among others.

Andrew’s dedication to work, passion for golf, and love for his family make him a well-rounded and respected individual both on and off the course. We are grateful to have Andrew as part of the Allied family!

Every year, Allied recognizes the hard work and dedication of its top performers through our President's Club This exclusive club is made up of individuals who have exceeded their sales quotas from the previous year and 1-2 outstanding performers from each department, selected by the president, Tom , himself.

The President's Club members are rewarded with an all-expenses-paid trip to a warm destination. This year's destination was Cabo, while Tom's personal favorite, Porta Virata, has also been a popular spot in the past The President's Club has been a cherished tradition at Allied for the past 16 years, offering a well-deserved reward to top performers and fostering a sense of camaraderie and recognition within the company

This year's President's Club trip to Cabo consisted of 11 top-performing employees from various departments, including two salespeople, two from IT, two from our service team, and three admin members Along with them, their plus ones were also invited to join the trip. Allied's president, Tom, was pleased to see everyone enjoying themselves and expressed his wish that more people could have been a part of the trip Tom also noted that the President's Club trip is a way to recognize and reward the hard work and dedication of Allied's employees, and that he is already looking forward to planning next year's trip

The President's Club trip is more than just a reward for top performers; it is an opportunity for employees from different departments to bond and form connections outside of work It is also a chance for them to recharge and come back to work feeling refreshed and motivated.

The President's Club trip is just one of the many ways Allied values its employees and recognizes their contributions to the company's success Tom and the rest of the management team are already looking forward to planning next year's trip and rewarding another group of top performers Will you join them?

ALLIED GIVES BACK: VOLUNTEERS SERVE HOME-COOKED MEAL AT THE RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE

Last month, Allied team members Fred, Tim, and Andrew Doxey volunteered at the Ronald McDonald House, cooking up a delicious meal that included Quesadillas, chips, dips, and strawberry cookies for dessert. The families staying at the Ronald McDonald House were grateful for the meal and the opportunity to enjoy a home-cooked meal during their stay. Volunteering at the Ronald McDonald House is a great way to make a positive impact on families in need, and we are proud of our team for representing Allied and making a difference in our community.

Jeff and Lance do an outstanding job of taking care of any issue that arises. This time it was Jeff, and he stayed until it was working properly again. Thank you, Jeff

Russ is fantastic to work with, very knowledgeable and very respectful in the work place. Russ contacted us on Friday as soon as he received the ticket and let me know that he wouldn’t be able to make it until Monday, which worked out perfectly.

-Charise

After repairing the problems he was called out for, Jeff went the extra mile and did some preventative maintenance to make sure my machine continues to run great, and cleaned the machine and surrounding area. Thank you for your help!

Dale is great to work with. He never makes me feel stupid for not knowing what he is talking about subnet words and such. He had no issue determining the problem after we were able to get our network set up correctly.

-Alisha Rettowski, Autovol Inc

CUSTOMER FEEDBACK APRIL

Kaden just finished setting up our printer here at Oasis City Church. He crushed it!! He worked with all the quirks we are facing as a newer church and still got us up and running! He was professional, kind, and helpful.

Great job! I placed a service call with Allied and the technician was at our office within 2 hours. Problem solved quickly and Randy was professional and had a great attitude! Thanks Randy!

Great job. Kaden and Jarrod were great with our new install.

The team at Allied helped us transition our copier contracts smoothly, ensuring we got machines with the same functionalities and provided detailed quotes showing how our costs would change. Their team quickly delivered/set up the new machines, ensured they were connected to our network/operational and provided a training on how to use the machines. They also followed up shortly afterwards to make sure things were going well. This is a great local team and I'm happy to have their service!

Allied are great MSP and technology partners, especially Shane and Fred! I highly recommend anyone in the Boise area looking for service or resources, go start your conversation with Allied first.

Fast service Kaden is very friendly and helpful

Mother's Day

-May 14th-

"Mother" is such a simple word, But to me there’s meaning seldom heard. For everything I am today, My mother’s love showed me the way. I’ll love my mother all my days, For enriching my life in so many ways. She set me straight and then set me free, And that’s what the word "mother" means to me.

To all the Allied Moms!

CONGRATS MITCH!

Big congratulations are in order for Mitch Madsen and his family as they welcomed their new beautiful baby girl, Hailyn Ember, into the world on March 30th

DOODLE DIARIES: OUR OFFICE'S HIDDEN MASTERPIECES

In this month's newsletter, we're shining a spotlight on the artistic talents of a few of our very own employees! Kiera and Jayme from Contract Billing, Andre from Purchasing, and Jody from Finance have been taking on daily drawing prompts, showcasing their creativity and sense of fun. Their imaginative sketches have brought life to an array of characters and scenes, ranging from beloved icons like Popeye, Cookie Monster, Mickey Mouse, and Garfield, to whimsical mashups like a bee on a knee having tea with a flea.

They've also captured the playful spirit of characters like Minion, Statue of Liberty, Phineas and Ferb, Tinkerbell, and an ostrich, and even settled the age-old debate: who would win in a fight between a taco and a grilled cheese sandwich? (Spoiler alert: the grilled cheese took the crown!) The fun prompts are usually suggested by Andre's brother. These daily drawings have not only injected a healthy dose of creativity into the office but have also brought smiles to all of our faces. Keep up the fantastic work, artists!
