Arabian horses are an important source of inspiration, especially for equestrian art lovers and professional painters. The horse is one of the most important creatures for the artists. This was clearly reflectedover the long course of human history, in all art schools,throughout the ages from ancient times to the present day. The painting was and still an effective way to translate words and even voices into artistic expressions, where they get easier to sensetheir content and messages. In the early times, the human painted horses on cave walls. In ancient Egypt, horse’s drawings have been seen frequently on the temple walls, as well as in the historical buildings and churches of Coptic era. It is commonly known that horses possessed a great position in the Arab´s culture. Arabian horses were praised and memorialized in Arab artworks. In modern art schools, such as Surrealism and Abstractism, the horse holds a special place. In a lot of squares and spaces, there are many of horse`s sculptures and statues made of copper, limestone, bronze, and other materials. With the arrival of photography and oil painting era, the horse has gained prominence in all arenas and horse sculptures occupied public places and private residences worldwide. In the next lines, we shall attempt to go deeper in the equestrian art approach, and we will review some unique artworks of a remarkable Arab artist Jamal Daoub. Jamal Daoub is a Libyan artist, born in 1965 in Libya. Daoub studied art at the Faculty of Arts in Tripoli, Department of drawing and painting. He has a long history in this field in his homeland. He occupied different positions, mainly as a director of the art department in the Cinema, Theater and Arts Authority. He is currently Director General of the National Center for Arts and Heritage in Libya. From an early age, he showed an interest in drawing. He learned about the art experiences of Libyan, Arab and international artists. He was influenced by the realist school. He tried to run all the plastic schools in his artistic works, finding classical realism, impressionism influence. Daoub was influenced by the realism school and tried to go through plastic arts, where he involved in the classical realism, impressionism and finally abstraction, all materials 24
