SymphonyOrchestraLeagueofAlexandria On behalf of the many dedicated volunteers of the Symphony Orchestra League of Alexandria (SOLA), we look forward to another highly successful year! As a fundraising organization, SOLA is reaching beyond the arts community to build awareness for the Alexandria Symphony Orchestra and many other projects that are meaningful to our members. With that in mind, this year SOLA will be initiating some new and exciting activities for our members and our future friends. We begin with a “get together� lunch for members and future members in September. This is a no-host event that will highlight SOLA activities and solicit ideas for future fundraising efforts. SOLA members know how to party, and we know how to host a great one! Next is an annual member favorite, SOLA Uncorked. This pre-Christmas evening of classy wine, cheeses and chocolate pairings is always a hit! Come for the wine, come for the chocolate, come for the cheese. Just come and have a great time with us! In the new year SOLA is working with other organizations in Alexandria to raise funds and build support for musical arts and culture in our local community. In addition to fundraising, SOLA will host the 44th annual Mary Graham Lasley Scholarship Competition for college level music students. This competition has awarded thousands of dollars to amazing music students to help them further their musical studies. SOLA members regularly attend the competition, and we would love to see people from our shared community attend! The competition is held in March at the Alexandria Campus of NOVA Community College.
