Alliance Française de Christchurch L’ Alliance Française is the only the only place dedicated to the learning of the French language and experiencing French culture in Christchurch. Established in 1959, the Alliance Française de Christchurch is one of nine in New Zealand. As a local not-for-profit organisation, it reflects the desire to share with others the love of the language, culture and other various aspects of the French way of life.

Teaching activities are complemented by a wide range of cultural and social events such as the Alliance Française French Film Festival, Pétanque Tournament, exhibitions, amongst others. Our library also offers a wide selection of items in French, including DVDs, books and magazines.
