Education Notes

Air Force Association Pitsenbarger awards provide a one-time grant of $400 to selected top USAF enlisted personnel graduating from the Community College of the Air Force who plan to pursue a baccalaureate degree. The grants coincide with the CCAF graduation ceremonies held each spring and fall. Applications can be found at www.afa.org/ AFA/InformationFor/Military/PitsenbargerAward. Applications are due to the Ramstein Education Center, Bldg. 2120, Room 421, by 3 p.m. today.

College Night

U.S. Army Garrison Rheinland-Pfalz Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation and Kaiserslautern High School present College Night from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Oct. 17 at the Kaiserslautern Special Events Center. Learn about education opportunities available from more than 80 accredited colleges and universities form the U.S. and across Europe. Open to all U.S. ID cardholders. The Kaiserslautern Special Events Center is located in Bldg. 237 on Rhine Ordnance Barracks. For details, call 4934123 or 0631-3406-4123.

CCAF graduation ceremony

Ramstein will hold the semiannual Community College of the Air Force graduation ceremony at 1 p.m. Oct. 18 at the Ramstein Officers’ Club. Graduation rehearsal will be held at 9 a.m. the same day and location. Rehearsal is mandatory for all graduates participating in the ceremony.

Dress is uniform of the day for the rehearsal and service dress uniform for the graduation. If you are PCSing, separating, deploying or retiring prior to this date, provide the necessary information to the education center. For more information, email 86FSS.ramsteineducationcenter@ us.af.mil.

Social Oct. 30 in the Ramstein Middle School multipurpose room. The dinner begins at 5 p.m. and the concert begins at 5:30. Cost is a $5 donation (per plate), which includes a meal and drink. Tickets will go on sale in October during lunch at RMS, or they may be purchased at the door on the night of the event for $8.

Bingo Night

Music lessons

Ramstein Intermediate School will host Bingo Night at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 17 in Jaguar Hall. Tickets are free for PTA members and $7 for non-members. Pizza, drinks and chips will be served for free.

Family Dodgeball Night

Family Dodgeball Night will be held Oct. 18 in the multipurpose hall (Armstrong Hall) at Ramstein Middle School. Dinner will be served at 5:30 p.m. and the games begin at 6:30. Admission is free for all PTSA members. If you are not a PTSA member, cost is $6 for adults and $4 for students. Registration closes at 6 p.m. the evening of the event. We are accepting baked goods for this event. We would appreciate any donations be delivered the morning of Oct. 18 to the SAO for the bake sale that evening. Ramstein Band Booster Club hosts its annual RMS Band Annual Fall Concert and Spaghetti

SKIESUnlimited music lessons are designed to teach all levels and abilities. Voice, piano, music and violin lessons are being offered for children and youth ages 18 months to 18 years. Children and youth will participate in recitals. Cooking, baking classes

SKIESUnlimited! offers cooking and baking classes Wednesday to Oct. 30 and Nov. 6 to 27. Cooking classes for school-aged children will be held from 4:15 to 5:45 p.m. Wednesdays in the Landstuhl CDC Kitchen, Bldg. 93802. Classes will cover kitchen safety, healthy eating, measuring and following recipes. Youth must be registered with CYS Services to participate.
