Recommended Insurances to Protect You from Financial Disaster Accidents happen, and in Germany, they can be expensive. Three essential but affordable insurances can save you and your loved ones from costly harm.

Private Liability Insurance (Private Haftpflicht)

One simple mistake can cost you thousands. If you accidentally injure someone or damage their property, private liability insurance covers the costs. From leaky washing machines to cracked bathroom tiles and scratched flooring, you may find yourself owing your Landlord a decent amount to cover renovation costs. Even if you knock over an expensive item in a store, damage a friend’s belongings, or cause an accident as a pedestrian or cyclist, this insurance pays for claims and legal fees, preventing financial ruin.

Renters Insurance (Hausratversicherung)

Imagine losing everything in a fire, burglary, or water damage. Renters insurance protects your belongings, including furniture, electronics, and clothing. It also covers costs if your home is uninhabitable due to damage. This small investment ensures you won’t have to replace everything out of pocket. If you currently have a renters insurance policy through your stateside agency, be sure to make them aware that you are currently international, to ensure that the coverage is applicable in Germany.

Pet Liability Insurance (Haustier Haftpflichtversicherung)

If your dog bites someone or damages property, you are legally responsible. Pet liability insurance covers medical expenses, legal fees, and repair costs, protecting you from expensive claims. Some breeds are even required by law to have this coverage, making it essential for pet owners.

435th Air Ground Operations Wing Public Affairs

The 435th Air Ground Operations Wing at Ramstein Air Base welcomed its first two warrant officers in U.S. Air Forces in Europe.

Warrant Officer Franko Salajcik, technical integrator, 1st Combat Communications Squadron, and Chief Warrant Officer 2 Louis Phan, technical integrator, 435th Communications Operations Group, will collaborate to provide specialized expertise across the wing.

“I will be advising the group commander on capabilities and integrating other groups within the wing to project future capabilities,” said Phan. “WO1 Salajcik’s presence at the 1st Combat Communications Squadron will be invaluable in understanding the squadron’s specific capabilities.”

The warrant officers will leverage their expertise to enhance operational effectiveness. They will provide insights into the practical application of technology and advise

leaders on the feasibility and risks of fielding solutions.

“We will bridge the gap in technical knowledge and drive innovation to ultimately benefit the Air Force,” said Salajcik. “We will focus on implementing emerging technologies into combat communications at the forward edge of the battlespace, particularly when Airmen are deployed to austere locations. This will provide our customers with quick and efficient means to connect decision-makers to the information they need.”

Both Airmen served as enlisted members before being selected for their warrant officer promotion. Becoming warrant officers provided them with a new path for their technical skills to fill critical voids in specialized technical expertise within warfighting communications.

“In today’s environment, nearly every warfighting function and weapon system requires reliable connectivity,” said Lt. Col. Melanie Strodtman, 1st Combat Communications Squadron commander.

“The skillsets to provide that connectivity take years to hone. The warrant officer track allows us to continue developing our most talented and experienced technicians into highly specialized functional leaders, which distinguishes it from the enlisted and traditional officer development tracks.”

This developmental track will allow the warrant officers to focus their time and attention on specific operational needs while leveraging their technical knowledge.

“We are thrilled to have two of the Air Force’s newest warrant officers guiding our integration and modernization efforts to meet emerging operational requirements,” said Strodtman. “At the squadron level, WO1 Salajcik will have the opportunity to focus on complex technical challenges, such as optimizing communication networks in austere environments and developing innovative solutions for resilient data transmission in contested areas. He and the rest of our new warrant officer corps will be key to remaining competitive in a rapidly advancing field.”

Military Medicine celebrates 250 Years of Service to our nation

U.S. Army Brig. Gen. Roger Giraud, commanding general of Medical Readiness Command, Europe and director of Defense Health Network Europe, provides opening remarks at the 2025 Military Medicine Ball held July 2 at the Ramstein Officer’s Club. Several hundred U.S. Army, Navy, and Air Force military and civilian medical professionals, along with their NATO and Allied partners from across Europe, attended the event. The event celebrated a remarkable 250 years of mili-

tary medicine, commemorating a rich legacy of service and dedication to our country. Since the nation’s inception, our military medical forces have played a vital role in providing comfort, care, and compassion to the wounded, ill, and injured, ensuring the health and readiness of our fighting forces while advancing medical knowledge and practices that benefit both military personnel and civilians alike. The guest speaker for the ball was Lt. Gen. Mary Izaguirre, the U.S. Army Surgeon General and Commanding General of U.S. Army Medical Command.

250 Years of Military Postal Service: Honoring the Legacy of America’s Uniformed Mail Carriers

In 1775, even before the ink had dried on the Declaration of Independence, America’s Founding Fathers recognized that communication was a strategic asset. On July 26, 1775, the Second Continental Congress appointed Benjamin Franklin as the first Postmaster General of what would become the United States Postal Service. From the battlefields of the Revolutionary War to the remote outposts of modern-day conflicts, the military postal service has remained a steadfast lifeline — connecting troops with loved ones and sustaining morale through every chapter of American military history.

As we mark 250 years of military postal service in support of the United States Postal Service, we honor a proud tradition of commitment, innovation, and resilience — a partnership forged in war and refined in peace.

The Birth of Military Mail: Revolution and the Will to Communicate

During the American Revolution, maintaining correspondence between the Continental Army and the fledgling government was vital to unity and success. The earliest military mail couriers were often volunteers — riding on horseback across battle lines and hostile terrain. Benjamin Franklin’s postal system laid the groundwork for reliable mail delivery, not only for civilians but for soldiers fighting for independence.

1792

United States Post Office Department (predecessor of USPS) established

U.S. Army began coordinating with the Post Office Department to ensure letters and parcels reached Union troops. The value of mail in maintaining morale was universally recognized — letters from home could lift spirits more powerfully than rations or medals.

In World War I, the first formal military postal units were created. With soldiers stationed across Europe, the U.S. Army Post Office system was developed to streamline mail flow, using field post offices that mirrored civilian structures back home. These early efforts set a precedent for what would become a dedicated and institutionalized branch of military support.

1860 Pony Express began operation

World War II: Scaling the Impossible World War II brought about unprecedented logistical challenges. The military postal service processed hundreds of millions of letters and packages across multiple theaters of war. At its height, the Army Postal Service employed more than 16,000 personnel and operated in more than 40 countries.

The innovation of V-Mail — short for Victory Mail — allowed for letters to be microfilmed, transported, and then printed upon arrival. This system saved enormous cargo space and ensured timely delivery in an era when speed could save lives.

1942

V-Mail enabled rapid communication between the warzone and the home front

Cold War and Beyond: Adapting to a Global Force

The Cold War era saw American forces stationed around the globe, from Germany to Korea. The military postal service remained critical in peacetime operations, sustaining family bonds across continents and time zones. The seamless integration between USPS and military postal operations meant that a letter addressed to an APO or FPO could reach a service member in Japan, Germany, or the Persian Gulf with minimal delay.

During the Vietnam War, Desert Storm, and later the Global War on Terror, the demand for rapid, secure mail delivery only increased. Military postal workers became logistical experts—navigating austere environments, combat zones, and complex international regulations to ensure every soldier, sailor, airman, and Marine stayed connected to home.

Modern Era: Digital Age, Timeless Mission

Today’s military postal service is a joint effort between the Department of Defense and the United States Postal Service. Despite advancements in digital communication, the importance of physical mail remains—especially for deployed personnel in remote areas with limited internet access. Care packages, letters, and official documents still travel through APO and FPO systems, carried by skilled postal clerks, logisticians, and transportation personnel.

These men and women handle millions of mailpieces annually, ensuring operational security, accountability, and timeliness. They often serve under combat conditions, managing field post offices in tents, forward operating bases, and aboard naval vessels—all while upholding the highest standards of professionalism.

A Legacy of Connection

For 250 years, the military postal service has connected the battlefield to the home front — delivering more than just mail. It has delivered hope, news, love, and a sense of normalcy in the most abnormal of conditions.

As we celebrate this milestone, we honor every military postal worker — past and present — who has carried out this sacred duty with unwavering commitment. From muskets and messengers to drones and data, the means have evolved, but the mission remains the same: to connect those who serve with the nation they defend.

ABC IN KMC: Ready for take-off

Ready for take-off

Most service or family members flying into Germany will get a first impression of their new home upon approach to Frankfurt International airport. If you’re lucky and are sitting in a window seat, you might be welcomed by lush green countryside with the Main River meandering through fields and forests, and maybe even a vineyard scattered in between. Lucky ones may also catch a glimpse of Mainhattan, Frankfurt’s banking district, shortly before landing.

After a seemingly endless taxi to the terminal, a long line at immigration, scurrying to baggage claim amongst the hustle and bustle of one of Europe’s most busy airports, to then pass customs, you will finally be

greeted by family, friends or sponsors. You made it - welcome to Frankfurt!

Now, relax and sit back! Imagine yourself landing at the same spot a century earlier, touching down on a dusty airfield amidst a vineyard on a Junkers F-13, the world’s first all-metal passenger monoplane, seating four.

David Levent, a senior first officer with German Condor Airlines, was already interested in aviation at a very early age. During a tour around Ramstein Air Base, the heavy aircraft, such as C-130 Hercules and C-17 Globemaster, additionally inspired him to pursue a career in aviation. Based out of Frankfurt for flights worldwide, he would like to share his cockpit perspective on the exciting development of the airport from an airstrip to a bustling international hub. Join him on a turbulent “flight” throughout a century of aviation in Frankfurt!

Through the grapevine

After World War I, when aircraft became decisive game changers during the course of the war, civilian passenger and cargo flights also gained importance. In July 1924 the Südwestdeutsche Luftverkehrs AG Rebstock airfield was founded in Frankfurt. At the time it was merely a landing strip among vineyards, leading to its name “Rebstock” (grapevine). Beyond Rebstock’s grass strips, little Junkers twins and their mail-and-passenger schedules to Munich, Stuttgart and Cologne paved the way for what would become Germany’s busiest hub.

Zeppelins and a world airport

Just a decade later the grass fields at Rebstock were bursting at the seams. Frankfurt’s authorities broke ground south

of the city for a purpose-built “Flug- und Luftschiffhafen Rhein-Main,” complete with a massive Zeppelinhalle. On July 8, 1936 the new airport officially opened— hailed as a “Weltflughafen” (world airport) —and Lufthansa inaugurated fixedwing services with Ju 52 trimotors alongside the airship operations.

Construction kicked off in 1934 and by mid-1936 the Zeppelinfeld terminal stood ready to handle both Graf Zeppelin and her younger sister, the Hindenburg. Within months, regular Graf Zeppelin sailings to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and Lakehurst, New Jersey began, tightly coordinated with Deutsche Lufthansa’s South Atlantic network. Graf Zeppelin maintained a schedule of roughly 13 crossings every two weeks from April to November 1936, carrying up to 50,000 letters per flight.

We hope you enjoyed our turbulent flight. We’re landing on notorious “18 West” and will then taxi to Terminal 3 in the year 2026. Even after 100+ landings, it’s always an exciting moment to touch down at home base. Photo by David Levent

Tragically, after the Hindenburg disaster in 1937 the era of passenger airships in Frankfurt came to an abrupt end. The giant hall was soon repurposed for military use during World War II and turned over to the German Luftwaffe (air force).

Post-war changes and transformation

From 1945 to 1948 the airfield was rebuilt and under allied control. U.S. Army engineers transitioned it into a key transport hub. RheinMain Air Base, located on the south side of the airport, was established as Advanced Landing Ground Y-73 in April 1945. The base hosted fighter units, then post-war transport squadrons flying C-47s, C-46s and C-54s and became USAFE’s “Gateway to Europe.”

It also played a decisive role during the Berlin Airlift from June 1948 to September 1949. With access to West Berlin severed in June 1948, the U.S. Military Airlift command used nearby Rhein-Main Air Base as a primary staging point for C-54 and C-47 flights supplying food and coal to isolated Berliners. The operation flown by U.S., British and French forces underscored Frankfurt’s strategic value in Cold War logistics.

Second runway

As air travel picked up globally, Frankfurt soared into the Jet Age and 2.2 million passengers were recorded in 1960. Joint civilian and military usage of the runway became ever more challenging, so officials decided that it was high time for an additional runway.

The second runway, the parallel 07R/25L, was built between 1968 and 1972 and officially opened on Oct. 21, 1972. It measured 4,000 × 60 meters, allowing Frankfurt for the first time true simultaneous take-offs and landings on parallel tracks.

Frankfurt’s runway network was sequentially extended and widened (from 1.8 km strips in the 1950s to 3.6 km in the 1960s), accommodating ever-larger jets and rising traffic. But, as passenger numbers soared, this quickly called for yet another third runway.

Turbulence at Startbahn West

The fight over “Startbahn West” (runway west, officially 18 West) at Frankfurt Airport became one of the fiercest environmental and civil-rights clashes in post-war Germany. The roots of the conflict were that Frankfurt’s operator applied for a third runway as early as December 1965.

By 1979 the “Aktionsgemeinschaft gegen die Flughafener weiterung” had formed (soon renamed the Bürgerinitiative gegen die Flughafenerweiterung Rhein-Main), turning a technical approval process into a battleground for Germany’s emerging environmental movement.

Protests from environmental activists found support and momentum in the newly created “Greens Party” (still represented in German parliament today), and turmoil led to mass sit-in protests. When clearing began in 1980, activists erected a permanent “Hüttendorf” (hut village) in the woods to block tree-felling. Over the next year, squatters, local farmers and left-wing groups staged nightly demonstrations, sit-ins on the future runway site and street battles with police wielding truncheons,

water-cannons and tear gas.

The peak mobilization was in November 1981 and after weeks of skirmishes, authorities forcibly evacuated the hut village on Nov. 2, 1981. Ten days later some 150,000 people rallied in Wiesbaden, and 220 000 signatures were delivered to the legislature demanding a halt to the project.

The opening of “Startbahn West” was under heavy guard on April 12, 1984, with Lufthansa’s Airbus “Lüneburg” becoming the first commercial departure from 18 West. There was no celebratory ceremony — Fraport opened the runway under massive police protection to avoid provocation. By then the costs of delay, security and compensation had ballooned to over 225 million Deutsche Marks.

Though organized mass protests waned by 1982, Sunday “Spaziergänge” (walks) continued at the runway fence. In 1987 two police officers were shot dead during one such demonstration, effectively ending largescale resistance, but in the aftermath, this led to noise abatement measures still in effect. Today, 18 West handles roughly 30 percent of Frankfurt’s flights.

Noise Respite Periods

Since 2015 Frankfurt has had seven-hour noise breaks—combining curfew hours (11 p.m. – 6 a.m.) with “quiet” slots from 5 – 6 a.m. and 10 – 11 p.m. There are also specific landing and departure procedures, such as steeper glide slopes and since 2012 all runways support a 3.2° ILS/GBAS approach instead of the standard 3.0°. This extra 0.2° lets jets stay higher longer over Flörsheim, FrankfurtSüd and Offenbach, cutting the low-altitude noise footprint. Departure procedures include Navigation Performance (RNP) flight paths, involving satellite-guided “radius-to-fix”, allowing aircraft to stick precisely to noise preferential corridors, steering them over industrial zones instead of homes.

Noise-related charges and runway rotations require airlines to pay surcharges for noisier jets, and utilize alternating departure runways to spread noise evenly, especially outside the core night curfew.

Construction never stops

Neither time nor flights have ever stood still and with increasing passenger numbers, Frankfurt’s Terminal 2 was completed and put into operation in 1994.

Frankfurt Airport’s dedicated long-distance (Fern-)train station next to Terminal 1 was completed in the spring of 1999 and officially went into service on May 30, 1999.

In the year 2001, the Flughafen Frankfurt/ Main AG rebranded as FRAPORT AG (FRA for airport code + port). Since then it has grown into a global airport manager across four continents.

Frankfurt’s fourth, and most northern runway, was completed and went into operation in 2011. At a length of 2,800 meters it is only used for landings. Coming from Mainz drivers may spot smaller aircraft, such as an Airbus 330 or a Boeing 777, rolling over the autobahn on a bridge.

Europe” from 1945 occupied the southern apron of Frankfurt Airport as the primary Military Airlift Command (MAC) and United States Air Forces in Europe (USAFE) hub. Over six decades it hosted C-130 Hercules and C-9A Nightingale squadrons, plus transient C-5, C-141, C-17, KC-135 and KC-10 operations, moving troops, cargo and VIPs across Europe and beyond.

In December 1999 the U.S. and German governments signed the Rhein-Main Transition Program, agreeing to relocate key airlift capabilities to Ramstein and Spangdahlem Air Bases in exchange for returning the site to German control. The final USAF aircraft departed on Sep. 26, 2005, a formal hand-over ceremony marked the end of flying operations on Oct. 10, 2005. One of the distinguished guests at the ceremony was Colonel (R) Gail Halverson, the famous “raison bomber” pilot during the Berlin Airlift. Military control officially ceased on Dec. 30, 2005.

Ramstein Air Base was officially transformed into the “Gateway to Europe” and as a consequence, the second “Southern Runway” was officially opened for service on Jan. 1, 2007.

Future Plans

Fraport’s newest terminal, Terminal 3, is due to be opened prior to the summer season 2026, located on the former air base premises. It is expected to handle 19 million annual passengers across three piers. Amenities will include a 6,000 square meter marketplace, with 60 shops and eateries, general daylight via floor-toceiling glazing, play zones, work lounges and a panoramic apron view. Connectivity to the old terminals will be via an eight-minute people mover (Skyline), plus direct taxi, bus and car access. In addition, there will be 8,500 car parking slots and room for hundreds of bicycles.

After completion, Terminal 2 will undergo a complete renovation phase and upgrade, and re-open thereafter.

From the cockpit: We hope you enjoyed our “centennial flight” throughout the history of Frankfurt Airport, Europe’s third busiest (after London-Heathrow and Charles de Gaulle,

Paris) and look forward to welcoming you at Frankfurt International again in the near future!

Happy landings wherever your travels may lead you!

For aviation fans (and colleagues): Frankfurt Airport today boasts four paved runways — three nearly parallel east-west strips plus a fourth north-south runway — optimized for noise abatement and traffic flows. Landings generally use the two outer parallels (25R/07L “Northwest” and 25L/07R “South”), while the inner runways shift to takeoffs or crosswind operations. All four are available for common-use scheduling between airlines and general-aviation users.

1924/25: Estimated 10,000 –20,000 passengers used Rebstock

1964: Frankfurt Airport handled roughly 3.5 million passengers

1994: Frankfurt/Rhein-Main Airport handled roughly 31 million passengers

2004: Fraport handled a total of 52,219,412 passengers

2024: 61,514,008 passengers were recorded

2024: 2.1 million metric tons of cargo were handled

2025, June: 5.6 million passengers traveled via Fraport

By 2030, Fraport is projected to handle up to 65 million passengers annually

On an average non-holiday weekday Frankfurt handles roughly 1,350 aircraft movements (take-offs + landings). That breaks down to about 675 departures and 675 arrivals each day, averaging every 60 to 90 seconds in 17 operational hours.

communication and deterrence capabilities vital to Air Force global operations.

U.S. Air Force Airmen and civilian personnel assigned to the 435th Construction Training Squadron completed a yearlong installation project of five concrete pads used to support communications antennas at Andoya Air Station, Norway, May 22.

The project, which began on May 20, 2024, bolstered satellite

“The objective was to install the foundational infrastructure so that satellite communications equipment could be placed and connected,” said Master Sgt. Jeremiah Wilkins, 435th CTS military construction flight superintendent.

The seven-man team responsible for completing this tasking faced difficult challenges while

completing the project.

“The site was extremely muddy and rocky and sat in a low, swampy area,” said Hardy Andelfinger, 435th CTS job site supervisor. “We had to level the ground and stabilize it all while dealing with rain, snow and high winds.” Not only did they flatten the land, they also installed fiber optic cables, erected a fenceline around the perimeter and built 300 meters of gravel road. To complete the

project the team needed to relocate heavy equipment and vehicles in cooperation with other squadron sections.

“We brought equipment and tools such as excavators, front end loaders and dump trucks,” said Wilkins. “Everything was transported from Ramstein to Andoya over a six day period via semitrucks driven by our squadron’s transportation section.”

The 435th CTS regularly

deploys to support NATO partners and allies with projects just like these.

Part of the tradition is speeches about local scandals, gossip and funny events. Some villages also have parades on Sunday. Upcoming fests: Obermohr July 25, Weltersbach Aug: 9, Mehlingen Aug 15. KELTENDORF IN STEINBACH

SUNDAYS UNTIL OCT. 31, 11 A.M. – 4 P.M., STEINBACH/ DONNERSBERG

A visit to the Celtic village in Steinbach AT Donnersberg is like a fascinating journey into the mystical world of the early Donnersberg inhabitants. This small, reconstructed village is more than a museum in the traditional sense. Here, the culture of the Celtic “natives” comes alive. Use all your senses to follow in the footsteps of the people who lived on the Donnersberg more than 2,000 years ago. The complex, built in 2004, was modeled on the floor plans of a Celtic settlement from the second half of the 1st century BC, discovered near Germersheim. The six buildings provide a good impression of the craft techniques used by the Celts to build houses. You can see wooden post and half-timbered structures, constructed with appropriate tenons using traditional timber construction techniques. Wooden shingles were used for the roofing. The facades were plastered with clay. In the Celtic village, guests of all ages can also get hands-on. Learning Celtic craft techniques such as felting, arrow making, and clay bead making complement the guided tour of the village and make the visit a very special excursion into the world of the Celts on Donnersberg.

Possessing a great blend of modernity and history, Mannheim makes for an excellent day trip. Sometimes called the Square City, after Prince Friedrich IV uniquely designed it using parallel lines during the 17th century to provide extra military protection, Mannheim today is also known as the City of Inventions, having given rise to the bicycle, automobile, and tractor. And while it is a city of industry, Mannheim is much more. Here are four places to start your Mannheim adventure.

Step Into the Past at the Baroque Palace Mannheim’s Baroque Palace is a treat for any and all visitors. Spanning across almost 650,000 square feet, it is the second largest baroque palace in Europe: only Versailles is larger.

Baroque Era architecture was known for bright colors, delicate and ornate surface elements, and significant grandeur, and the Barockschloss Mannheim has all of these and more. Built under Prince Elector Carl Philip in the 18th century, and revamped in the 19th century at the direction of Napoleon’s daughter Stéphanie de Beauharnais, the palace was known for its liveliness and excellent art, science, and music, with even Mozart

performing at the palace. Today, there are over 800 exhibits inside that are open to the public for viewing, with the royal silverware, the Knight’s Hall, the Library, and a beautiful sparkling diadem being of special interest to most visitors. Open Tuesday through Sunday all year round, the Baroque Palace is an unmissable spot in Mannheim.

Immerse Yourself in Tech at Technoseum Mannheim’s Technoseum is a delight for technology and science lovers. Explore the history of media as it evolved from telegraphs to modern day smartphones. Play old games and learn about how they worked in one of many interactive exhibits. Learn about the invention of the car and particularly about Mercedes Benz, the world’s first automobile, created in 1886 in Mannheim.  Technoseum is uniquely engaging for visitors through its special demonstrations. During the day there are over ten different live demonstrations of important technological creations and tools, such as a steam locomotive train, a grain mill, a papercreating press, a hydroelectric plant, and more. Visitors are even invited to actively participate in many of the demonstrations,

allowing an up-close look into the tools that make our world what it is today.

Learn About War History at the Zeitgeschichtliches Museum

The Zeitgeschichtliches Museum, or the Mannheim Museum of Contemporary History, provides incredible historical depth and perspective. Specifically focusing on military and war history, the museum displays local history through exhibits on World War I, World War II, and the German military as it is today. There is also an exhibit dedicated to the American military presence in Germany, and particularly in the Mannheim region over the past 80 years.

For those interested in the aviation of the past, there is also a section of the museum dedicated to zeppelins, as previously the Schütte-Lanz Company had a shipyard in Mannheim. Another exhibit reflects on the presence of the Third Reich in Mannheim during the Second World War and its consequences. Built in an old bomb shelter, the Zeitgeschichtliches Museum offers a deeper look into the past that is not to be missed.

Take a Walking Tour

From quaint streets to beautiful parks,

there is plenty to see on foot in Mannheim. With so much to explore, it can be difficult to even know where to start. Fortunately, there are many different walking tours in Mannheim that will show you different aspects of the city depending on what you are interested in.

For mystery and adventure fans, a selfguided Sherlock Holmes murder mystery tour is the way to go and will enable you to see the city through a different lens of detail than you would otherwise achieve.

Immerse yourself in Mannheim’s artistic side with a Street Art walking tour. For art lovers, this is a perfect way to admire beautiful works and learn about the history of street art in Mannheim and the artists themselves.

A general walking tour of the city and its main highlights such as the Baroque Palace, the Jesuit Church, and the shopping district is also offered.

Getting to Mannheim

By car, Mannheim is approximately 1 hour from Kaiserslautern and Wiesbaden, and 2 hours from Stuttgart. Great train options are also available through Deutsche Bahn.
