A for… Architect
Il définit les performances acoustiques à obtenir pour une construction donnée. Pour les établir, il tient compte de la destination de chaque pièce dans un appartement, de leur environnement, de la réglementation et du standing du bâtiment. À partir de ces éléments, en relation avec l’architecte, l’acousticien préconise les solutions pour atteindre les objectifs fixés qui permettront l’isolation à l’intérieur des bâtiments, des pièces les unes par rapport aux autres au sein d’un appartement et des appartements entre eux, dans un immeuble. Il conçoit les solutions adaptées à la destination des différents espaces dans une habitation, en fonction de la disposition des appartements. De la même manière pour la façade du bâtiment, après des mesures réalisées sur le bruit ambiant, il détermine les moyens à utiliser pour limiter les effets sonores pour les habitants. Ses décisions se retranscrivent dans le choix des matériaux et leur agencement, pour chaque corps de métier qui participe à la construction. Un autre volet de son intervention concerne le suivi des bruits générés par le chantier. Au moyen de capteurs disposés sur plusieurs emplacements autour du site de construction, il enregistre en permanence le volume des émissions sonores afin de vérifier le respect des seuils fixés. Préalablement, en utilisant des logiciels très sophistiqués, l’acousticien a calculé le volume sonore produit par chaque atelier de travail et le volume global des émissions sonores produites par le chantier.
The architect can be considered the creative “brain” of the project; they are responsible for imagining the details of each building and the district. This includes the number and size of structures to be built and the general appearance desired. They are provided with legislative and regulatory frameworks and specifications that allow them to organize the available space and draw up plans for the buildings and their locations. In consultation with urban planners (see letter U), they establish vacation areas, green spaces, the location of individual houses, buildings, commercial areas, etc. Together with the engineers (see letter E), the architect designs the different buildings to meet all requirements: shape, aesthetics, technical requirements, energy efficiency and sustainable development. During the design studies, architects define the general characteristics of the building, the surfaces to be built and their purpose. They determine, among other things, the ergonomics of the building, the materials, shapes and colors to be used. Creating a vision that conforms to the conditions set1 by the contracting authority (see letter C). They draft the drawings, site drawings, floor plans of the infrastructures and buildings to be constructed. Once the architect has finished the design, completed the building permit and created a file outlining the project for the builders, they monitor the progress of the works, ensuring that the plans are respected.
