You are now puppy owners! Not only are you welcoming your puppy into the family but you are also welcoming them in right!
CONGRATULATIONS
Training begins with building the right relationship with your puppy. That relationship extends beyond just the commands we use. It extends to the meals they eat, the places they see, and their potty breaks! That's socialization! This guide will take you through some of the base principles of how we get our dogs ready for the everyday adventures of life. Enjoy, and welcome!
ACADEMY DOG TRAINING

Depending on the age and breed of dog, you must feed them between 1 to 3 times daily. Your dogs’ food should not be left down more than 30 minutes. Water should be scheduled and measured throughout the day. An untrained dog who eats all day will poop all day; a dog who has an unlimited water supply will pee all day.
There are 4 factors you must remember in housebreaking your dog:
After each meal your dog should be allowed to relieve themselves with a walk or let out in the yard. In the first days of training you should accompany your dog to the bathroom area. I always give a two word command for my dog to ‘Go Potty’. I repeat this command while they are going to the bathroom and then immediately a verbal praise with a small treat When my dog understands the purpose for us going to this area, I will then proceed on for a walk If I know my dog needs to go but just wants to play I will go back inside and confine him to his area. Repeat the process of going out maybe 10 to 15 minutes later.
A crate {cage} is one of the best ways to confine your dog while teaching them the housebreaking skills. Baby gates are also very useful in assisting in the process of housebreaking. The crate can be your most valuable training tool, but can also be abused if not properly used with a schedule.

When you put these four factors together along with your schedule you should be able to completely housebreak your dog in a very short period of time
The time of day you feed and water your dog.
When feeding the right diet to your dog, this will immensely help with the housebreaking schedule. Some diets will run through your dog and have them going to the bathroom 4 to 5 times more per day This will make housebreaking very difficult if they can’t hold it A good premium diet is very important in helping you to accomplish the goal of housebreaking
Remember most dogs do not like to go to the bathroom where they sleep, eat, or play. So review the following tips to assist you with housebreaking.
The time of day you walk or let your dog go to the bathroom. The type of confinement used for housing your dog. The type of food you are feeding your dog.

SOCIALIZATION 101 ACADEMY DOG TRAINING S
Now, one of the best things that we can do is use food and games when we are exposing our dogs to new things! For instance, we want our doodle to get used to high tables since it will be at the groomers many times over the course of its life So, we will place the puppy up on a table or high platform at home and have the dog eat some delicious treats from our hand for seconds at a time. Few moments pass and we take the puppy off! Or we have dog who will be going to work with us pretty frequently, we use food and play games in our office. Teaching the puppy to follow, recall and politely greet all they encounter.
For all of those different stimulations we have attached a socialization checklist for you to mark off each milestone of socialization that you achieve. For the sound portion, utilize Youtube to play some of the noises you want to stimulate your dog to! While playing these sounds such as fireworks or dryers, give your dog a licky mat smeared with peanut butter to engage with For introducing new people, you must remember this is your dog! Have people assist you in your training, give them treats and tell them to ask your dog for a sit when greeting Not lay on the ground and let the puppy run all over their body
ocialization is more than just dogs being introduced to other dogs. It is about exposing the puppy to all of the different things they will experience in their journeys.
Getting your puppy is an amazing experience because for the next decade we will have a partner in crime for us to travel and do things with. That being said, we want you to imagine and write down all of the different scenarios you will want your puppy in later in life. Once you have this list, we will know what to prepare and socialize for! Fill out our scenario list it will help you gather your ideas for what the future looks like for your new family addition!
Socialization for us means exposing the dogs to things like vet/grooming tables, office spaces, city noises, the evil hair dryer! These are the experiences that will make up the dogs life, so we start exposing young and building confidence!
