After experiments in art and design with three friends at Atelier Ecrú in Palma, Elisabeth decided to create SANTAPALMA. Launched in 2017, the idea was born organically as a result of introspection and the realisation that a healthy life comes from balance. It was a moment, she explains, that inspired her to create a quality product that could age with the customer and have its own life cycle. “One of the most exciting moments was when we worked on the first prototype, the Maria Short Natural, made with artisan llata - sundried palm leaf. It was the revelation that started the whole collection.” Elisabeth, catalana, afincada y enamorada de Mallorca desde que llegase hace dieciocho años, lanzó SantaPalma hace tres años, después de crear junto a tres amigas el Ecrú Atelier & Showroom, en un local de la calle Concepción, donde experimentaban con la escultura, la pintura, el diseño y la fotografía, como si fuera una necesidad casi antropológica. No fue una marca preconcebida, “nació orgánicamente” explica Elisabeth. SantaPalma es el resultado de una búsqueda interior y una filosofía de vida que promueve vivir en equilibrio con el medio ambiente, consumiendo menos y volviendo a un estilo de vida más austero, comprando productos atemporales, de calidad, que crezcan y envejezcan con la persona formando parte de uno mismo. Nachdemsie sich bereits mit Kunst und Design mit drei Freunden im Atelier Ecrú in Palma befasste, gründete sie 2017 SANTAPALMA. Ihr neues Projekt ist Ergebnis einer inneren Suche und der Erkenntnis, dass ein gesundes Leben immer ein gewisses Gleichgewicht zwischen Mensch und Natur verlangt. Die Idee sei „organisch gewachsen”, erzählt Elisabeth Colom, die den Wunsch hat Produkte zu entwerfen, die gemeinsam mit dem Verbraucher wachsen und altern können. „Einer der aufregendsten Momente war die Erstellung unseres ersten Prototyps, der Maria Short Natural, die aus Llata, sonnengetrockneten Palmblättern, hergestellt wird. Es war eine Art Offenbarung, die die gesamten Kollektion prägt.”
