A Spring In My Step
Throughout my 33 years as an educator, and still today, it is not unusual to have a former student hail, “Hey, Mrs. Judge, you were my teacher. Do you remember me?” Whether in a restaurant, a parking lot, or a big box store, it’s always nice to pause and catch up with former students. It's refreshing to hear of their families and life and career choices. It warms my heart to reminisce about what they learned in my class and hear kind works of thankfulness. During these surprise encounters, feelings of gratitude, pride and satisfaction are emotions that ll my mind, knowing that somewhere along the way, pouring into the students – whom I was blessed to teach – was well worth the effort. On those days of reconnecting, I seem to have a little more spring in my step and a smile on my face.
The same emotions came over me at the ALL STAR New York Gala in mid-November, a beautiful evening with more than 450 in attendance. Our guests experienced rst-hand the outcome of our Mini-Grant program. In 2021, Spring 36, a non-pro t organization in Bronx County, received an ALL RISE Mini-Grant, aimed to provide opportunities for youth to grow, create and realize their fullest potential through a music video program. This included teaching choreography and dance techniques to the students. The collaboration began when the W.A.F.F.L.E. Crew, (We are Family for Life Entertainment), a professional dance troupe that performs throughout the nation welcomed three of the Bronx students in the Spring 36 program to train and practice with them. Joining the W.A.F.F.L.E. Crew for the Gala, our enthusiastic and talented youth danced and entertained guests with their amazing moves and brought a fresh, new excitement to the Gala. As I watched their performance, and the smiles on the faces of our guests, those feelings of gratitude, pride and satisfaction swelled back up in me.
TEAM REPORT

At the end of the evening, we presented our guests with the #ALLRISE4Youth Challenge – to support us as we expand our reach to positively engage, encourage and inspire our youth. More information on the challenge can be found on page 4.
We are especially thankful for the sponsors of the ALL RISE Gala, as it is the most signi cant event to raise funds to support the efforts of the Foundation, along with our Family of Af liates partners. And thank you to all who have connected and walked alongside us as we continue to grow. It is because of those who generously support the work we are doing at ALL RISE that we continue to inspire children and youth to become responsible citizens by engaging them in activities that encourage them to reach unlimited possibilities.
Spring 36 utilized their Mini-Grant funding to develop leadership, health and tness, teamwork, mentorship, choreography and dance techniques that led to the great collaboration. This is just one example of the 36 Mini-Grants totaling $90,000 we have given since the program began. The requests from Mini-Grant recipients are clear across the board – from youth program development, leadership training, building libraries in community housing, volunteerism, and so much more.
You too should have feelings of gratitude, pride and satisfaction, as well as a little spring in your step today knowing that you have made a difference.

Commitment and Passion
As we gathered in November for our third New York gala, it was impossible to not celebrate how much the Foundation has grown. Whether you were in the room that evening or not, I want to assure you that your contributions have made a signi cant impact on kids’ lives in California and New York. Together, as part of our ALL RISE family, we are building a legacy.
As I think about what is important in building this foundation, I focus on honoring those who have come before me and building a legacy for those who will come after me. I have spoken about the importance of time before - how precious it is, how we spend it, and where we give it. I want to add to that sentiment again.
To leave a legacy, it takes time, drive, commitment and passion. A legacy takes an unwavering commitment to ourselves, our neighbors and our community, it also takes the drive to wake up each day knowing that you are responsible for something far greater than yourself. I feel that way each day when I step into the clubhouse and onto on the eld. And I feel that way as I write these words.
In many ways, passion is the easiest part of the equation—where our hearts are led, our hands will follow. This truth is at the core of the ALL RISE mission to inspire youth. My hope is that, as you read this, you feel the same passion for empowering young people and helping us make a difference.
This isn’t a task for one person, nor is it something that can be accomplished in a single day, week, or even month. But with your commitment and dedication to our community, we can build something extraordinary and ALL RISE together.

Thank You for An Amazing ALL STAR Gala

The Cipriani Wall Street was the perfect venue for the ALL STAR Gala, displaying stunning and gorgeous tablescapes, enticing silent auction items, incredible entertainment, and a place to share the excitement and growth of the ALL RISE Foundation. Nearly 500 guests, including professional athletes and leaders in the sports world, enjoyed this beautiful New York City evening with signature cocktails, ne dining, and auction items, including signed sports memorabilia from Aaron Judge and other professional athletes who support the Foundation.
New this year was live entertainment. In our cover story, you read about the Mini-Grant students who joined professional dance troupe W.A.F.F.L.E. Crew to collectively energize the crowd with their dance moves. We completed the evening with entertainment by Bas – a fan favorite not because he seeks the spotlight, but because the spotlight seeks him—drawn to his unwavering consistency and his refusal to compromise the heart of

We are thankful to all involved, from the sponsors who made the night happen, to all those who participated as guests, as well as the ALL RISE Gala team. It was a night to remember.

THE FRESNO CHAFFEE ZOO, FRESNO, CALIFORNIA
After-School at the Zoo program is designed to boost self-con dence, inspire curiosity about nature and wildlife, encourage healthy eating and physical movement, and provide a safe environment where young people can freely engage with their immediate surroundings. The ALL RISE Mini-Grant will support the purchase of supplies for activities, not limited to painting, drawing, and craft-making, as well as help cover the costs to feed program participants a wholesome meal. The meal forti es the children in their activities and addresses the problem of food insecurity that can occur in families who experience economic instability while living in temporary housing.
FAST FEET RUNNING AND ATHLETICS, INC., BROOKLYN, NEW YORK
Recognizes the severe need for adaptive exercise and health equity programs for children and young adults with disabilities. Their mission is to make athletics, nutrition and social skills development accessible and inclusive to all people. Fast Feet centers on adaptive running programs. Supported by a team of coaches, each athlete learns the fundamentals of track-and- eld, as well as how to be a supportive team player and community member. The ALL RISE Mini-Grant will help give Bronx students with disabilities the opportunity to train, work out and race. To ensure each individual child’s needs are properly supported, athletes will be paired with volunteers who provide training assistance and positive encouragement.
WATERLOO SCHOOL, LINDEN, CALIFORNIA
